Everyone Is A Lord: My Talent Is A Little Too Strong Chapter 2610: 1437: A Shocking Truth (Part 2)

“We have marched this far and forced our rivals into submission. Who would possess the audacity and the means to orchestrate such a complex conspiracy?”
Broy knit his brows, lost in contemplation for a moment, before a sudden look of clarity washed over his face. “Could it be…”
As Broy reached his realization, the other powerful experts present reacted similarly, their minds arriving at the same conclusion.
“Precisely. There remains only one power we have yet to utterly crush: the Witch Demon.”
Leo Ray voiced the suspicion shared by everyone, asserting, “Previously, with the aid of the Ancient Dark Elves, we successfully repelled that sudden and formidable enemy. However, that was clearly not their full strength. Furthermore, several Witch Demons managed to escape the battlefield.”
“Having their schemes ruined by Your Majesty and suffering heavy casualties, the Witch Demon Leader must be consumed by spite. Since they cannot defeat us through direct Cultivation or military might, they have set this treacherous trap to spark a war between us and the two alliances.”
Harnell’s weathered, rugged face grew grim as he gave a heavy nod of agreement.
“If we were to point the finger at either alliance and ignite a total war, those Witch Demons would be the ones to profit. It is a truly diabolical strategy.”
Veins pulsed on Nal’s forehead, his expression radiating murderous intent as he roared, “Those wretches even dared to target Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness the Prince. I will never grant them mercy!”
Following Nal’s outburst, the other formidable Dragonborn bowed deeply toward Leo Ray. “We implore Your Majesty to lead us in seeking retribution!”
“Have no fear, I shall ensure those villains are wiped out. In the meantime, our priority must be locating Dana and Davis as quickly as possible.”
Leo Ray nodded to Nal and the others, adding, “Based on our earlier reasoning, it is highly probable that spies have infiltrated one or both alliances. This suggests Dana and Davis are likely being held captive within alliance territory rather than the Witch Demons' own lands.”
“Your Majesty’s insight is correct. In a worst-case scenario, they might use the Dragonborn Queen and the others as leverage against us, making their rescue paramount.”
Fanny nodded firmly in agreement before asking, “What is our next course of action?”
“The path is straightforward. Now that we know the two alliances are not the masterminds, we should reconcile with them and recruit their assistance. This will not only accelerate the search for Dana and the others but also provide reinforcements to help us annihilate the Witch Demons.”
Leo Ray raised an eyebrow slightly and continued, “We will handle subsequent events as they unfold. No plan survives contact with reality perfectly, but this situation at least gives us an opening to mend ties with the two alliances.”
The group voiced their consensus, after which Leo Ray and the Administrator made their way back to the main hall.
Inside the vast, illuminated chamber, the thick tension began to dissipate the moment Leo Ray reappeared.
“Everyone, please lower your guards.”
Having confirmed that neither alliance was the true culprit, Leo Ray offered a faint smile. “Based on the fresh intelligence I have gathered, the identity of the true villain has been exposed.”
“Oh? Is it finally proven that the Desert Alliance is behind this?”
Loris, maintaining a stoic expression on his leonine face, was the first to speak. “Human Sovereign, the Rainforest Fortress Alliance stands ready to join you in wiping them out!”
“The guilty are always the first to point fingers. Rest easy, Human Sovereign; the Desert Alliance is fully committed to uprooting the real threat. We will personally deal with those elite units from the Rainforest Fortress Alliance.”
Sina refused to be sidelined, letting out a cold snort. “Can we now confirm that the Rainforest Fortress Alliance is indeed the mastermind?”
“I believe there is no longer a need for you two to fight, as the actual perpetrator is a different entity entirely.”
Leo Ray got straight to the point, explaining the involvement of the Witch Demons.
“So, it is those foul creatures after all.”
Upon hearing Leo Ray’s explanation, Loris’s eyes sharpened. He frowned, saying, “The territory of the Witch Demons is eternally choked by a miasma so thick you cannot see your own hand. Only those with Tier 5 strength can traverse it safely. Had it been otherwise, my Rainforest Fortress Alliance would have wiped them out long ago.”
“The Rainforest leader certainly loves to boast. From what I recall, you have suffered significant setbacks at their hands.”
Sina glanced mockingly at Loris before turning back to Leo Ray. “Rest assured, Human Sovereign, those creatures tried to play me for a fool as well. I will not let that stand. Should you decide to strike, we will provide our full military support.”
“The Rainforest Fortress Alliance will not sit by like idiots while others pull our strings. We will certainly lend our strength!”
Just as Loris finished speaking and prepared to argue with Sina again, Leo Ray intervened. “I appreciate the commitment from both leaders. I will notify you both when the time comes to purge the Witch Demons. Furthermore, there is another matter where I require your aid.”
Leo Ray then explained the mission to find Dana and Davis.
“You have my word, Human Sovereign. The moment I return, I will mobilize a search party.”
Loris struck his chest and agreed without a second thought.
“We shall do the same. Do not worry, Human Sovereign.”
Sina was equally quick to pledge her support.
After all, Leo Ray possessed the high-level gear they desperately desired. Combined with their genuine fury over being manipulated, they were inclined to remain allies until the Witch Demons were dealt with.
Observing the resolve of the two leaders, Leo Ray understood the underlying motivations. He kept his smile and said, “Then I shall rely on your efforts.”
Pausing to gather his thoughts, Leo Ray finally asked the question that had been bothering him: “Why did both of you decide to mass your armies at the border recently?”
“To be perfectly honest, Human Sovereign, it was because internal intelligence suggested that you were planning to move against us.”
Sina answered with uncharacteristic honesty this time.
“It was the same for us. Given the circumstances, taking defensive measures seemed the only logical choice.”
Loris echoed her sentiment. Since they were now preparing to face a common enemy, there was no point in keeping secrets.
“But does it not strike you as suspicious? Both of you deployed troops to the border almost simultaneously, and then the Forest-side Fortress was hit by a surprise attack. That is far too convenient. You might want to scrutinize the origins of that intelligence.”
Leo Ray didn't need to say more; the implication was obvious.
Traitors within both alliances had clearly conspired with the Witch Demons, tricking the leaders into a border standoff that served as the perfect distraction for the raid.
Loris and Sina immediately grasped the meaning, their eyes flashing with cold fury.
“Now, time is of the essence, so let us return to the primary matter. As the owner of the equipment, I will honor my word. If you can provide items that meet my standards, that set of gear outside will be yours.”
Leo Ray spoke decisively, producing two Sixth-order Charging Potions he had shown earlier. “And these are the gifts I promised you both earlier.”
Seeing Leo Ray fulfill his promise so readily, the members of both the Desert Alliance and the Rainforest Fortress Alliance looked at him with newfound respect. They took deep breaths, trying to steady their nerves.
The upcoming negotiation would determine who walked away with the Sixth-order Equipment. With such power, they could more easily hunt down the traitors and destroy the Witch Demons!
“Now then, let me see what you have brought for the exchange.”
Leo Ray sat composed at the head of the table, giving a small nod to begin the proceedings.
