Breydar destroyed Island A215 with a massive explosion, sacrificing it to escape. Adam, though severely wounded, survived the blast by using his Dark Energy and sacrificing the right half of his body. Breydar then retreated to Island A216, anticipating Adam would pursue him. To Breydar's shock, Adam used multiple crystal blades to shatter Island A216, revealing them to be bomb-like devices. As the blades exploded, Breydar realized Adam's intention and attempted to protect himself, but the island was obliterated.

Strange as it may seem, battles between particularly powerful opponents didn’t happen all that often in the Gray Sea.

If it involved a Lord-level opponent, even if they were Lesser Lords, everything was usually settled in a single, brief clash between them.

It was rare for a battle of this magnitude to cause serious destruction to an island. But this time, more than one island was affected.

Breydar was the one who blew up Island A215. He did it deliberately to win. Sure, it wasn’t enough to kill Adam, but Adam was seriously wounded, which brought Breydar closer to his goal.

However, what happened next was something Breydar could never have anticipated.

BLAST!

A devastating explosion rocked Island A216, the second explosion of their battle, occurring just moments after the first one.

But the difference was that Breydar had used the terrain of Island A215 to detonate it. He took control of the energy crystals, while Adam, in turn, relied entirely on his own abilities.

Before, he hadn’t been able to use the Imaginary Blades in this way. They didn’t contain enough energy, their structure wasn’t as complex, and most importantly - the blades weren’t that big.

Now, after Adam had grown stronger and Silvana had returned with new abilities, everything had changed.

The energy in the crystal blades was sufficient to cause an explosion upon their release. And... if there were enough crystal blades, the explosion could be of immense power - enough to destroy an island.

The explosion was no less powerful than the one on Island A215.

A cloud of dust rose high into the sky, a tremor spread for hundreds of meters, and powerful gusts of wind swept in all directions.

Adam was far enough away to remain safe even during the explosion. He watched the aftermath of his decision, which he had made, in part, in a rage.

Sure, Adam often took risks and kept fighting even when his chances of winning were slim, but he rarely let his emotions control his actions.

This time, his emotions got the better of him.

He was furious at the way Breydar had acted.

Instead of fighting him in a fair battle, Breydar had simply struck him in the back and tried to run away.

What’s more, as soon as Breydar flew away from Island A215, he blew it up, hoping to kill Adam in such a cowardly way!

Adam’s jaw was still clenched, as was his left fist. His right arm wouldn’t obey him. It was too badly injured for him to even wiggle his fingers.

Still, the fire in his chest burned brightly.

He realized that what he had done was reckless. He could have spent his energy more effectively instead of using dozens of crystal blades to create a single powerful explosion.

But a clean, pragmatic victory wasn’t what his heart desired. He wanted to take revenge on Breydar, to do to him exactly what Breydar had done to him, and he had done just that.

"Let’s see what’s become of you, you piece of shit," Adam spat out in hatred.

Gradually, the cloud of dust cleared as a new view of Island A216 came into view.

Just a few moments ago, it had been an island full of greenery, plants, and trees with long vines, but now it was a devastated wasteland.

True, some plants and trees had survived. They’d been lucky enough to end up in places where rocks had been flung, which ultimately served as a shield for them. But most of the island was now engulfed in fire and ash, destroyed by a multitude of explosions.

However, none of this interested Adam. He saw some monsters hiding behind rocks, but his gaze was fixed on a single target.

"GRHA!!!"

Breydar collapsed to one knee as a stream of blood gushed from his mouth.

Strangely enough, he had sustained almost no injuries - well, compared to what had happened to Adam, that was actually the case, and there was an explanation for it.

Crack. Crack. Crack.

There was a crack as the magic circle hovering above him shattered into countless fragments.

At the same moment, the long misty arms that had served as his shield disintegrated into particles, disappearing into the ground.

He used his Constellation as a last resort.

Sure, Breydar didn’t want to do this, since it was his main trump card against Adam, who was still at the First Circle. But when he saw the scale of the explosion, he simply had no other choice.

He realized that if he didn’t do this now, he would simply perish in the wave of flames, and that would be the end of it.

"Tsk." Adam clicked his tongue, seeing only burns and scratches on Breydar’s body. "Are all his limbs intact? Fine, that’ll be enough for me."

Tap.

Adam landed on Island A216, striding forward unhurriedly.

"You..."

A low growl escaped from Breydar, who couldn’t stop the blood from flowing. The explosion and such aggressive use of energy had put a heavy strain on his body.

He had kept all his limbs, and his organs were intact, but he had lost a lot of energy - far more than he had anticipated even in the worst-case scenario.

"YOU FUCKING BASTARD!"

Breydar’s roar rang out as his gaze fixed on Adam.

"WHY? Why did you have to do it this way? You’re a psycho!"

Step. Step. Step.

Adam just kept walking, saying nothing. His right arm swung back and forth with each step, but his cold stare made him look menacing even though he was seriously wounded.

"Grh!" Breydar groaned in pain, rising from the ground to meet Adam’s dark gaze.

Adam stopped.

"You’re an idiot. Now I’m convinced of it."

"ARH?"

Adam pointed ahead, not at Breydar, but at Island A215 in the distance.

"You could have fought me there. On that island, you’d have had a better chance than here, in the middle of the jungle. Why didn’t you do that?"

Adam stepped forward as they came within striking distance of each other.

"What were you so afraid of?"

Breydar frowned but decided to answer.

"You should know. You’ll never understand what it’s like for a monster to know that a Second-Rank Phantom might be nearby."

He clenched his fists tightly.

"It’s worse than any nightmare!"
