Endless Evolution: Last Star Chapter 1889: The Gray Sea

Whoooooosh!
Adam’s figure streaked through Varreyn, and after a few long leaps, he reached the city’s western wall. This path led not only to the Silent Hills, where he had already been, but also to the Gray Sea.
"Alright, Breydar, wait for me. I’ll come for you as soon as I make it out of the Grand Abyss."
Few people cared where a Phantom was planning to go. Even if it was the Gray Sea, which wasn’t all that rare in Varreyn, it held special interest for two people.
"And?" Krador shifted his gaze from the window to Laroza. "Aren’t you going to help him? I thought Aiden would ask you to look out for him, or is your job done now?"
Laroza gave him a sly smile as a sparkle flashed in her eyes.
"Aiden Henk is one of the few people whose requests I can’t ignore. However, I’m not his servant. Even he doesn’t dare give me orders. I’ve done my part, Adam has learned a lot at Varreyn. Partly thanks to me, and partly thanks to you and Amelia."
Her eyes narrowed as her gaze drifted far ahead, beyond the walls of Varreyn, to keep an eye on Adam.
"Everything else depends solely on him."
However, Krador didn’t share Laroza’s confidence. After all, he was weaker than she was. Damn, anyone in Varreyn was stronger than her, that’s why she was one of the Renegades, and none of them were.
"Still... I hope he’ll be all right. You know, I just don’t want to lose such a good client."
"Hahaha!" Laroza laughed. "If you’re afraid of Aiden’s wrath, don’t worry, I’ll protect you. And what do you mean, ’good client’? That guy made you take a deal that wasn’t in your best interest!"
Before Krador could answer, Laroza appeared in front of him, climbing onto his lap.
"I know you’re sentimental. You don’t have to hide it from me."
"Pffft!" Krador snorted, blowing a lock of his purple hair to the side.
Laroza touched her lips as a playful glint flashed in her eyes.
"You wanna fuck?"
Krador wasn’t surprised by such a sudden question. He’d known Laroza for too long to react to something like that.
"Fine, but I’d like to stay alive afterward."
Laroza licked her lips as she gripped his shoulders tightly.
"I can’t promise anything!"
...
Unlike Laroza and Krador, who had been following Adam for the first part of his journey, he knew nothing about what was happening right now at the Mist Owl Tower.
Well, that was for the best. He was grateful to Laroza for helping him settle into this part of the Tarnished Lands, but she was a rather strange person.
In fact, it made Adam think about one thing while he was on his way to the Gray Sea.
’Hmm, lately I’ve met quite a few monsters that live for several hundred years, though I suppose some of them have been here for over a thousand or even fifteen hundred years. One year for them is like a week for me, if not less, and... they’re all kind of strange.’
The most normal monster Adam had met was Es’aha, well, in his opinion, at least. If he’d known about her unusual attachment to Zin, his opinion of her would have been the same as his opinion of the others.
Kaerno, Laroza, Norax, and other powerful monsters all had their own peculiarities, and Adam was sure it was because they’d lived so long.
"Tsk, can you believe it? To many monsters like that, my entire journey feels like just a few weeks. I’m sure there are powerful monsters who don’t even know I exist yet!"
Adam was right.
Many Lords, especially those who wanted to reach the True Lord Level, could meditate for decades, gradually absorbing energy.
There were even monsters that had begun absorbing energy for their evolution before Adam was even born, and they continued to do so to this day.
But no matter how strong a monster was or how long it planned to meditate for the sake of evolution,
There was one event that forced everyone to awaken and return to the real world - the World Wipe.
Step.
Adam took a step as he found himself at the top of one of the hills.
Neither mist nor tigers troubled him anymore. He had nothing left to fear in the Silent Hills, and since the last time he’d been here, he’d grown significantly stronger.
In the distance, the Gray Sea was visible, as his journey to this new territory was nearly complete.
"Agh... The Gray Sea and then the Grand Abyss. The only thing that worries me is Breydar. I said I’d find him, but it seems like he’s getting farther and farther away, right?"
A few moments later, Adm nodded and ran forward.
He still had several dozen kilometers to go before reaching the shore of the Gray Sea, which he would run through in silence, accompanied only by the sound of his own footsteps.
The areas leading up to the Gray Sea had always been peaceful. Rarely did anyone fight here, as everyone was headed toward the Gray Sea and its islands.
"When I spoke with Farla, she said that Breydar was on Island A113. Now, he might be on Island A180 or even farther."
Perhaps Adam should have been wary that if Breydar went even farther, he wouldn’t be able to catch him, but for some reason, Adam wasn’t worried anymore.
"When Farla first told me she wanted me to fight the Baron, I wasn’t sure if I could do it. Even Laroza said my chances were 50/50, but that was before I gained new abilities and learned to use the Soul Stance."
Adam was confident, and sometimes that put him in danger, but now he had no doubts about one thing.
If he created the Third Grand Star, even the Viscount wouldn’t be a mortal enemy to him.
Step.
A few minutes later, Adam stepped forward as he stopped, gazing at the endless dark sea in the distance and the waves crashing against the gray shore.
He had arrived at the Gray Sea.
