Adam stood alone against the Dark Knight after defeating Vyora, Sarka, and Loargh. His winged assault reached blinding speeds, but the crimson darkness repelled his needle strike. The Dark Knight slashed Adam's chest, proclaiming an insurmountable power gap, as dark energy surged from the wounded hero only to be interrupted by the Silver Weaver.

The instant Adam absorbed every ounce of the black flash's energy, he unlocked the Dark Energy.

Positioning a mass of dark matter atop his Evolution Tree, he not only bestowed fresh power upon himself but also empowered the Silver Weaver further.

Truth be told, the Silver Weaver stood as Adam's earliest ability to hold a sliver of Dark Energy, well before he claimed the whole black flash.

Yet true mastery came only in the Primal Lands, sealed by a bargain with Zargos, awakening the Silver Weaver's complete might with a new needle like a black greatsword boasting a broad, keen blade.

At the Sky Cube, Tron revealed how to channel Dark Energy into a shadowed twin of one of his abilities.

He picked the Future of the Past, which evolved into the Glare of Final Determination, its dark counterpart.

Adam seemed to have tapped out his Dark Energy usage, at least for now.

But reality proved otherwise.

"Agh?"

Bewilderment flickered across Adam's eyes at the sound of the Silver Weaver's voice.

"What the hell are you talking about? I don't have time for your games!"

The Dark Knight closed in warily, unsure of Adam's next play after displaying Dark Energy prowess, yet brimming with unwavering confidence in his win.

Adam needed to move immediately. Solely [Glare of Final Determination] offered the slimmest hope of triumph.

'If anything can span the chasm between us, it's the dark energy alone!' Adam roared inside.

A smug grin crossed the Silver Weaver's face as his spectral duplicate popped up beside Adam instantly. Visible only to Adam, it wasn't like Silvana's spectral form.

'I know. That's why I said don't waste that vital energy on that ability. You really think he won't dodge the dark spear or block it somehow?"

Speechless, Adam realized the Silver Weaver had a point. He wasn't confident in his power's sufficiency.

"We couldn't even destroy the energy layer emanating from his cape. Even if the dark spear's power suffices, it definitely won't kill him. He'll suffer a serious wound, writhe in pain, and then rip your head off and devour that shard.'

Clutch.

Adam's grip tightened on his needle's hilt, battle-ready.

'What do you suggest?'

Smirking, the Silver Weaver eyed the dark blade.

'Isn't it obvious? Use my power to its fullest. Your needle turned black under the influence of the dark energy. Why did you decide your path remained the same?'

Adam froze briefly as understanding dawned.

If his spear had a dark version, and he held the black needle in his hands, what was stopping him from going further?

Step.

The Dark Knight poised to strike as Adam shifted his stance.

He gripped his needle with both hands, pressing the hilt against his chest while the tip was aimed at the Dark Knight like a deadly spear.

A black blur flashed before Adam's blue eyes as thick darkness engulfed everything around him.

Tremble! Tremble! Tremble!

Usually calm and mysterious, the dark energy was now in a wild roar, emanating from Adam while his expression remained calm.

Shiver!

For the first time in the entire battle, a shiver ran down the Dark Knight's spine. He felt fear, for even he could not ignore the dark energy.

"So this is your answer?!" the Dark Knight exclaimed, gripping his sword tightly. "Great! Let's end this in one attack! Right here, right now!"

The crimson darkness burst from his sword in a violent surge, as all the power of his cape surged into the amber blade.

They both knew this was the final move, and only one of them could walk away alive.

'I'm counting on you, bastard,' Adam thought to himself. 'If you're wrong, we'll both die.'

The Silver Weaver lifted his chin, gazing haughtily at Adam.

'Huh? When was the last time I was wrong? We'll win, do you hear me? We'll win! We'll do whatever it takes!'

Step.

Simultaneously, they both stepped forward as Sarka came to her senses.

'Argh?'

With difficulty, she raised her head, looking at the two figures shrouded in darkness. Two forces that, in an instant, collided in the middle of the battlefield.

Like two domes, two trembling fields, the dark and crimson energy clashed, causing the sword field to tremble.

Adam's needle tip collided directly with the amber blade, becoming the epicenter of their clash.

Thump. Thump. Thump.

Their hearts pounded rapidly. Each had poured everything into this attack.

"RRRRGGGGHHH!!!" Adam clenched his teeth. His veins bulged, and streams of blood flowed from his eyes.

His body was at its limit, but his field didn't begin to tremble first.

Thrust!

Adam's darkness surged through a breach in the Dark Knight's barrier, crashing into his shoulder. Blood spurted out, a burning agony contorting his features.

He was being defeated. His crimson darkness faltered against Adam's shadowy path.

Maybe he ought to have panicked or at last sensed the dread of looming death and resigned to his end.

Yet strangely, the Dark Knight avoided Adam's gaze. Instead, he fixated on the quivering veins along Adam's neck and the blood streaming down his face.

'This blood…' He glared at his sword. 'You feel it too, don't you? Something about this blood isn't right! Something… or maybe it's…?'

Thrust!

A torrent of blood erupted from the Dark Knight's left leg.

Moments later, Adam would crumble his field, and then Adam's darkness would obliterate him entirely.

Run.

He needed to run.

STEP!

The Dark Knight advanced, towering over Adam.

'NOW!' Adam screamed silently, poised for the decisive strike.

Abruptly, the Dark Knight's jaws gaped open wide.

THRUST!

His human teeth plunged directly into Adam's neck, ripping away a hefty chunk with savage power.
