Endless Evolution: Last Star Chapter 1564: Azure Eye

Previously on Endless Evolution: Last Star...
Alexia unleashed a frosty breath infused with ancient energy, freezing Vaarh's legs to the ground and leaving him vulnerable. Enraged, Vaarh struck her with his iron shaft, drawing blood, but Adam seized the moment, summoning twenty massive imaginary blades that rained down and pierced Vaarh's body in a devastating assault. As Vaarh appeared to fall, his eyes fluttered open, a gray aura erupting around him alongside the emerging Azure Eye, instilling primal fear and awe in all who witnessed it.

Throughout Adam's past encounters, adversaries had endured devastating injuries yet persisted in battle.

In the Primal Lands, such occurrences multiplied exponentially. Every creature in this realm commanded remarkable mastery over their vitality, sinews, and form, coupled with extraordinary stamina.

Nevertheless, despite this awareness, Adam found it impossible to accept that Vaarh endured the barrage of swords. Two dozen massive swords had impaled Vaarh from every direction, yet he persisted in living.

Or... had Adam erred entirely?

Both he and Alexia had witnessed Vaarh's condition upon their initial encounter, the fate of his former form. Nothing left of the mighty dragon except a skull attached to an exposed cervical spine.

Yet, that remnant sufficed for him to forge the Frost Oasis and a renewed physique, rivaling the might of the feeblest Lord.

"W-What...?"

Alexia’s words quivered as the blue eye gazed upon her and Adam simultaneously.

"That bastard's still kicking? He pulled through after all that?!"

Crack. Crack. Crack.

Simultaneously, Vaarh’s sinews quivered while the ethereal swords hit their breaking point. Every one of the twenty swords fragmented like brittle crystal, replaced solely by oozing gashes.

Truthfully, this development boded ill for Vaarh.

Extracting a sword from an injury and exposing it was a novice error, hastening the blood loss.

Given the multitude of injuries Vaarh sustained and the broadness of those swords, his hemorrhage would intensify rapidly.

But...

Thump. Thump. Thump.

His sinews contracted, enveloping his hide in slate-blue vitality. Under Vaarh’s command, the vitality morphed into slender, elongated pins that sealed all his numerous injuries akin to sutures. His neck stood apart, where he halted the flow entirely using a surge of vitality.

Alexia swallowed hard.

At present, the drake who had risen after a dozen swords descended upon him advanced on her, sealing his gashes with pins formed from his personal vitality.

For a seasoned combatant like her, one who thrived on conflict, this exceeded all bounds.

Moreover, the blue eye lingered overhead near Vaarh, inseparable from him, functioning as his extra vision that perceived far beyond his pair.

Thump. Thump. Thump.

Alexia’s pulse quickened, icy perspiration trickling down her spine while she lifted herself up, adopting a combat pose.

In an instant, Vaarh vanished, his palm descending upon Alexia’s visage. The strike landed swifter than her eyelids could flutter.

"I made a mistake..." Vaarh rasped. "I should have eliminated you right at the start. You’re nothing but a pesky insect that offers no danger yet stirs endless trouble!"

His sinews coiled as he hurled Alexia ahead with maximum force.

Bam! Bam! Bam!

Alexia’s spine crashed through five frozen summits along her trajectory, each collision radiating a throbbing ache across her frame, yet she couldn't dwell on it since Vaarh awaited her already.

"Damn it, don't look down on me!" Alexia yelled while she planted her feet solidly and balled her hand into a tight knot.

Midway through her swing, Vaarh surged ahead and deflected her forearm with mere his hand.

Consequently, her knuckles sailed past his shoulder rather than smashing squarely into his features.

Yet Alexia lacked such precision or velocity.

BAM!

Vaarch’s knuckles drove profoundly into her abdomen, forcing a sharp intake of breath from the agony.

"No need to fret. I won't repeat that error, so I'll conclude this immediately!"

Those ensuing moments marked likely the toughest skirmish in Alexia’s existence.

Bam! Bam! Bam!

Vaarch darted left and right, unleashing a storm of strikes and sweeps at her vulnerabilities, be it belly, limbs, joints, or windpipe.

Indeed, despite the onslaught, Alexia refused to yield. Though not a beast of the Primal Lands, her resilience ranked exceptionally high.

A handful of deflected hits wouldn't shatter her, though defeat might.

"Take this!" Alexia cried out, unleashing a sweeping leg strike that Vaarch effortlessly parried with his hand.

Her heel collided with his grasp, trapping her joint in Vaarch’s unyielding hold.

"Decent techniques. However, if you aim to rival the lowliest Baron at that proficiency, you truly misunderstand your goals. You never belonged here."

Step.

Vaarch advanced a pace prior to elevating his hand.

"K4-Level suffices amply to weather upcoming World Wipes and dwell safeguarded by your sovereign. You ought to have embraced that position and savored existence."

A sinister spark ignited in his gaze.

"After all, everyone errs, right? Merely a few manage to halt before it's too late."

Alexia gripped her knuckles firmly while readying her subsequent assault to liberate her limb, though Vaarch anticipated it all.

He anticipated her move, thus outpacing her.

Whoooooosh!

Resembling a dull hatchet, Vaarch’s hand crashed against Alexia’s limb, snapping the structure.

Crackle.

The sharp snap of fractured bone resounded nearby as Alexia’s gaze expanded amid the torrent of torment surging through her.

"F-Fuck."

Clenching her jaws, she channeled every bit of her vitality into her knuckles. She needed to complete the blow.

BAM!

Vaarch’s knuckles hammered her chin, dislodging yet another molar and propelling her airborne over ten paces.

With a composed yet haughty expression, Vaarch observed Alexia struggling to rise from the earth.

Crimson trickled from her lips and nostrils, yet that paled against her current crisis.

Thump!

Her limbs gave way, toppling her to the dirt. Her shattered limb rendered standing impossible.

Vaarch inclined his head faintly while gearing up to advance and deliver the final blow.

Precisely then, a silhouette overshadowed him.

Without glancing toward Adam, who initiated his offensive, Vaarch lifted his limb just as Adam’s knuckles collided with Vaarch’s lower arm, shoving him rearward by several strides.

"Agh... Agh... Agh..."

Adam panted raggedly while eyeing Vaarch and the Azure Eye piercing his essence.

"What about now, Silvana?"

He inquired.

"Any ideas on how to defeat this?"
