Endless Evolution: Last Star Chapter 1510: Frozen Spine (Part 1)

Previously on Endless Evolution: Last Star...
After an instantaneous teleportation from the foot of the Detached Mountains, Adam and Alexia find themselves stranded in the frozen heights of the Primal Lands. An encounter with a massive ice wyvern ends in humiliation when the creature deems them unworthy of combat and casts them aside with a mere gust of wind. Now deep within a dense, energy-saturated forest, the pair must contend with a hostile environment where even the rocks and trees possess lethal durability. As local monsters gather to observe the newcomers, two massive, fur-covered beasts emerge to block their path, forcing the Phantoms to prepare for a true test of strength.
Just as Damien had cautioned, the Primal Lands proved to be a savage realm.

Moments after Adam and Alexia touched down, they were encircled by dozens of creatures, the looming ice wyvern notwithstanding. Despite the crowd, only two monsters stepped forward, having already selected their prey. These white beasts advanced with measured steps.

Adam, however, observed a peculiar detail. ‘None of them have taken human form. Is it possible they lack that transformation entirely?’ he mused, his gaze locked onto the beast to his left.

Had they been deep within the Tarnished Lands or the Dark Shore, they would have certainly encountered several Elder Level monsters in human guise. Such was the standard in those territories, yet the rules seemed different here.

“Hey, we’re each taking one, right?” Alexia asked, waving her hand casually.

Adam gave a firm nod in response.

“Exactly. Whether they intend to kill us or merely test our Cultivation, we’ll adapt as the fight unfolds.”

While Adam chose a patient stance, waiting for his opponent to make the first move, Alexia wore a broad grin and pounced forward.

The two beasts tracked her movement; one halted to face her, while the second continued its steady approach toward Adam.

Alexia refrained from summoning her Nexus or activating any specific abilities for now. If these creatures were hunters, she wanted to gauge the baseline strength of the local monsters first.

Their auras revealed much, but nothing provided more accurate data than a direct physical clash.

“GROOO!!!”

The second beast let out a guttural growl, charging at Alexia with the momentum of a bull. Its massive frame towered over the small girl, and its pair of formidable tusks aimed directly for her chest.

A normal human caught in that path would have been more than just injured; the sheer impact would have shredded them into a bloody mess.

Fortunately, Alexia was far from ordinary.

THUMP!

Stepping forward with explosive power, Alexia seized the white beast by its tusks. The creature's momentum forced her back several meters, her boots carving deep furrows into the thick snow.

Gradually, however, her slide ended. The beast found itself unable to push through her resistance.

“Hah…” Alexia exhaled a plume of hot vapor, staring straight into the creature's icy blue eyes. “You really thought a simple charge would do it? You'll need more than that!”

The white beast snorted. Though it lacked a human tongue to speak, a monster of this caliber clearly grasped her mockery.

Stopping the assault was only the beginning; Alexia knew she had to deliver a far more devastating retort.

“Fine, I wasn't planning on using this so soon, but I should have enough time to recover my Qi later.”

Adam and the first white beast watched the unfolding skirmish with shared curiosity. Despite being opponents, they remained still, observing the extent of Alexia’s prowess.

It had been quite some time since Adam had seen her in a real fight. He was aware that her powers were rooted in ice and frost, and that her combat style mirrored his own—fast and unrelenting.

Yet, Alexia was arguably more feral and daring than Adam. While he relied on instinct tempered by a calculating mind to find a path to victory, Alexia was driven by instinct fueled by raw emotion.

Tremble. Tremble. Tremble.

A fierce aura, resembling a flickering blue flame, erupted from Alexia. A brilliant light surged toward her extremities.

In a flash, the light solidified into heavy iron battle gauntlets and boots. A thin layer of frost coated their sharp edges, while exhaust pipes—resembling those of a high-powered motorcycle—ran along the length of the armor.

The gear looked heavy and lethal, shielding her joints while preserving her agility.

Adam squinted, focusing on the pipes. A frigid steam drifted from them, so cold that the surrounding snow instantly crystallized into jagged ice.

Shiver.

A tremor passed through the beast. Even its massive size and dense white fur offered no protection against the unnatural cold Alexia was radiating.

“What’s the matter? Feeling the chill?” Alexia licked her lips. “I assumed a beast of your size, born in these frozen wastes, would find any cold to be like a summer breeze. I guess I over-estimated you!”

Energy surged into the gauntlets and boots, causing blue lines to glow within the pipes.

She gritted her teeth, her muscles tensing to their absolute limit.

Adam’s eyes widened as he realized her intent.

“Wait… Is she actually going to—?”

Step.

Alexia lunged forward, her grip on the tusks tightening until the bone began to groan under the pressure.

The monsters watching from the treeline were stunned by the spectacle.

A girl who looked fragile by comparison was hoisting the massive white beast off the ground. The creature was helpless, caught completely off guard by her sheer physical strength.

“RRROOOOO!!!” The monster thrashed its head violently, but Alexia didn't budge.

She looked up at the beast dangling in the air.

But she wasn't finished yet.

While she had enjoyed her repose at the Citadel, she craved the thrill of the Dead Lands. She was prepared to unleash her full power.

“You chose to stand against me? Fine, I’m bored with you now!”

Step.

With a violent twist of her torso, she hurled the multi-ton monster through the air like a discarded stone.

Ravens scattered from the treetops a split second before the beast collided with the forest. Despite the thickness of the ancient trees, the white beast plowed through several of them, leaving a path of shattered wood before finally hitting the earth.

Clap. Clap. Clap.

Alexia brushed the dust from her palms and rested her hands on her hips, looking quite pleased.

“There! That was a decent warm-up!”

The monsters weren't the only ones in shock; Adam was equally impressed. He felt a surge of pride seeing how much his comrade had grown.

A Phantom who had started as weak as he once was had reached such incredible heights.

“Well, I suppose it’s my turn now, isn't it?”
