When mentioning his own trickery, Ewen smiled proudly, in his view, the more popular an author is, the better they are at deception.

Cinderella’s demeanor weakened; the story Ewen told was largely the same, just completely different in detail, and it was precisely these details that made the story’s direction entirely different.

It’s as if Ewen knew what the girl wanted to ask, he continued, "I’ve always thought of this as a very romantic job.

Reality isn’t perfect or blemish-free, sometimes it’s even cruel, but as a storyteller, I have the ability to make it beautiful, to comfort others’ hearts."

Ewen had rested enough and talked enough; it was time to continue moving forward. He stood up, blinked forcefully, and the wind and rain outside the porthole reminded him of the day he killed the captain.

"I often miss my young and foolish days."

Ewen said as he picked up the blood-stained Short Sword, gesturing for Cinderella to follow him.

Cinderella had many things she wanted to say; Ewen was like a thick book, filled with fascinating stories. She had heard Ewen talk about spending sixteen hours with her on that train; she wanted to know what happened during those sixteen hours and Ewen’s concept of immortality.

There wasn’t time to ask, as Ewen suddenly pulled open the cabinet blocking the door and kicked open the door, momentarily reverting to his younger self.

Dense black smoke rolled through the dim corridor, flames flickered at the corners, bodies and fresh blood were everywhere.

The elevator shaft had been consumed by fire; Ewen needed to find another way up. Perhaps due to numerous unfortunate experiences, Ewen remarkably found fortune this time.

Throughout the journey, Ewen didn’t encounter a single enemy, and after countless corners, he found a completely intact elevator.

Pressing the elevator button, it miraculously descended slowly.

Ewen breathed a sigh of relief, "Looks like we’re saved."

Cinderella’s tense mood also eased; no matter how big-hearted she was, she still felt fear facing death.

The floors kept skipping, and just as the elevator was about to reach Ewen’s floor, Ewen faintly heard voices from behind the elevator door.

Ewen’s face drastically changed, the elevator carried another group; he grabbed Cinderella, wanting to quickly evacuate, but by then, the elevator had already reached his floor.

There was no time.

Ewen clutched the Short Sword; having stayed in this perilous environment for so long, he surprisingly started to adapt to this tense, life-and-death atmosphere.

The cold Blade suddenly lifted as the elevator doors opened to either side.

Metal crashed against metal, sparking blinding flares, Ewen felt his Short Sword strike an angry bull, the immense force transmitted back injured his arm again, the Short Sword slipped and embedded into the wall.

Ewen slammed against the wall behind him, and immediately a pitch-black gun barrel pressed against his forehead.

Death came so quickly that Ewen felt nothing but arm pain, unable to even indulge in stray thoughts.

The anticipated death did not arrive.

The man holding the pistol to Ewen’s forehead appeared startled and surprised.

"Ewen?"

The voice was filled with confusion, as if the two shouldn’t have reunited here.

Nolen?

Ewen’s only acquaintance was Nolen, but now Nolen’s whereabouts were unknown, he didn’t even know if Nolen was dead or alive, this attack on Paradise was meant for him.

The person lowered the pistol, revealing a face both strange and familiar, then smiled at Ewen, pointing the gun barrel to his own face, introducing himself.

"It’s me, Shaw, Shaw Albert!"

Ewen was dazed for a long time before he remembered who Shaw Albert was, then merged with the comedic character of a glutton and the man with a murderous aura holding the pistol before him.

"What a coincidence!"

Palmer grasped Ewen’s hand energetically, shaking it while loudly exclaiming, "Luckily I was slow, otherwise you’d be dead!"

Ewen couldn’t understand why this was worth exclaiming over, but he still cooperated, "Yes, yes!"

"So, are you lost?"

Palmer once again pressed the gun barrel against Ewen’s forehead, Duwa and Canary stepped out from behind him, each exuding murderous intent.

After countless bloody battles, having slain numerous Demons, Palmer finally found a living person to communicate with.

"Finally, some progress."

Palmer seemed to be mistaken about something, he grabbed Ewen’s collar, "You must be a spy of the Tidal people! You’ve been watching us since the train!"

Palmer shouted, "Speak quickly! Where did that bastard Nolen hide Gold?"

Ewen looked bewildered.
