Ossana reveals that the Fantasy Species requires High Tier Condensers as nutrients, likening them to soil for a Fantasy Tree. Bologue questions the Supreme Trial, suspecting it's a method of resource creation. Ossana offers Bologue help through a contact in the Wasteland District, admitting her plan to use him to eliminate radicals and advance her own faction, regardless of his success or failure.

The Land of Secrets had been peaceful for so long that the residents here never thought the flames of war would ignite in this place.

The turmoil caused by Bologue also spread to the Wasteland District; the shops on the streets were open, but inside they were deserted. Most of The Imperfect hid in their homes, avoiding getting involved in the disputes of the Condensers, while some scattered pedestrians stood on the streets, gazing at the dense smoke rising between the High Towers from afar.

Some people were cheering with raised fists, while others were full of worry. Despite being oppressed by the Condensers, The Imperfect were used to peaceful days; no one wished for a fire to consume this hard-won life.

Bologue crossed the street, following the trajectory in his memory, heading toward the old bus terminal where he should be able to find some help.

Along the way, Bologue saw many of The Imperfect, who were mostly filled with discontent toward the Condensers. The anger had long been accumulating, and Bologue once felt that he could use them to trigger a riot.

Unfortunately, the significance of such an act wasn’t great. Even if The Imperfect were numerous, as long as one Negative Power User arrived, they could easily crush them.

Absolute power brings absolute class differences.

The alarm sounded again, but unlike the previous all-encompassing blare, this time the alarm only covered the Wasteland District. Bologue was somewhat perplexed, but the surrounding Imperfect seemed well-acquainted with the sound.

Their expressions turned grim, hastily leaving the streets to return home or enter shops; even the homeless found shadows to hide themselves.

In no time, the entire street was emptied, several figures swept through the air, and Bologue sensed, albeit vaguely, the Ether reactions of Defenders and Negative Power Users.

Through his conversation with Ossana, Bologue had acquired a lot of useful information. Currently, most of the Seekers of Glory from the All Secrets Order were dispatched to deal with Nesanel, while others were escorting Holt, taking him to the Fantasy Tree to turn him into fresh nourishment.

For this reason, the Ancestral Council didn’t have much High Tier combat power at its disposal. Bologue guessed there wouldn’t be a Seeker of Glory coming directly for him... even if he were captured by a Seeker of Glory, there would only be one, giving Bologue the chance to resist.

"Aren’t you worried about Holt and them?" Palmer asked.

"No need."

Bologue shook his head, his words filled with trust in Holt, even though they had barely met.

"Holt is a team leader. I don’t think he would surrender so easily," Bologue speculated. "Holt must be planning something."

"Are you sure about that?"

"It’s not certainty, but fact. Isn’t it easy to deduce?" Bologue countered. "Do you think someone as proud as Holt would so easily allow himself to be controlled by the enemy? Even if they are Seekers of Glory."

Quietly, Bologue thought to himself, "No, he would definitely fight to the bitter end."

The current situation was chaotic, yet Bologue remained optimistic.

"Come over, stand firm," Bologue placed a hand on Palmer’s shoulder, "Olivia, help us out."

As soon as he finished speaking, a writhing shadow enveloped them. When they stepped into the shadows of the alley, they completely blended into it.

Shortly after, a team of fully armed Condensers swaggered down the street, meticulously searching the surroundings. The ripples of Ether probed in all directions, attempting to locate echoes.

"They’re professionals too," Bologue whispered.

Bologue guessed that the Land of Secrets was now entirely sealed to prevent his escape. If necessary, the Ancestral Council probably even severed all communication channels, stopping him from conveying the happenings here to the Order Bureau headquarters.

After destroying several Towers consecutively, they understood he wouldn’t hide among them—it was too easy to be discovered. Hence, they speculated he was in the Wasteland District.

They guessed right.

"Time to go."

Bologue and Palmer moved within the shadows. He trusted Ossana, but not completely, as they never stood on the same ground fundamentally. Ossana was for family and truth, whereas Bologue was merely for work and a bit of savior spirit.

Their interests simply overlapped partially, far from being comrades willing to die alongside each other.

Thus, Bologue didn’t put much hope in Ossana’s promised aid. Yet, when Bologue cautiously threaded through streets and alleys, reaching the terminal, he once again saw those two familiar figures. Unexpectedly, in this regard, Ossana turned out to be reliable.

On the desolate street, a man and woman surveyed their surroundings warily, wearing the same Cloak of Concealment as Bologue. The draping fabric hinted at the silhouette of firearms.

Bologue remembered these two, Yannis and Yolanda, both of them Imperfect and Ossana’s representatives among them.

Bologue didn’t consider the Ancestral Council to be a bunch of fools... perhaps they were indeed somewhat foolish, but not foolish enough to lose control and restraint over their own power.

They likely already knew of the connection between Ossana and The Imperfect, yet tolerated her actions due to the peculiar nature of the Fantasist family. Ossana probably also knew her every move was under the scrutiny of the Ancestral Council, but she didn’t care. On the contrary, the closer her ties with The Imperfect, the more it proved she was a steadfast member of the Truth Faction.
