Bologue and Mamo discuss the catastrophic theory that the Ethereal Realm is not merely overlapping with the Material Realm, but actively devouring it. Mamo reveals the Order Bureau's plan to unite forces against this existential threat, starting with the Rhine Alliance. Bologue then submits an application for promotion, only to be questioned by Mamo about his willingness to 'sacrifice for science.'

Ever since moving into the Order Bureau, the biggest downside Bologue felt was that entertainment options had significantly decreased. In that atmosphere filled with seriousness, not everyone could set aside their duties and laugh heartily.

Even someone like Bologue, who had little desire for entertainment, felt this way.

So, when night fell and Bologue pushed open the door to the Undying Club, he found many familiar faces before him. Everyone had spontaneously gathered here.

"Yo! Bologue."

"Good evening, Bologue."

Greetings rose and fell as Bologue exchanged pleasantries with old friends—Hart, Kemp, Shelley, and Palmer—almost everyone was there except for Aimou and Belli. Due to work in the garden, Aimou and Belli were simply unable to detach themselves.

But among these people, the one who surprised Bologue the most was a long-unseen figure.

"Oh, Church is here too?"

Bologue sat opposite Church, unable to hide his surprise on his face.

Since the decline of the epidemic incident, Bologue hadn’t seen Church for a while. He was either busy with infiltration work or at Afeiya’s flower shop. Though not seeing him, hearing about Church’s good condition was quite comforting.

"Bologue."

Church nodded at Bologue, "Long time no see."

"Indeed, it’s been some time," Bologue pressed on, "How have you been recently?"

With an expanded social circle, Bologue was no longer the taciturn, cold-looking guy he used to be. He would chat about recent events with friends and complain about life’s various woes.

"Pretty good, um... I should say very good."

Church held back a bit, but his face still brimmed with unstoppable smiles.

Bologue asked, "Oh, what’s happening?"

"I’m planning to get engaged to Afeiya."

"Hmm... huh?"

Bologue first listened with a smile, then froze in place as if he had heard some earth-shattering news.

At the same time, the whole club quieted down, eyes shifting towards Church. After a series of rustling noises, moving tables and chairs, everyone surrounded Church heavily, like interrogating a criminal, or like watching some rare species.

Palmer was the most excessive. He wrapped an arm around Church’s neck, seemingly intimate, but actually ready to choke Church at any moment.

"How can you live so well? I don’t understand!" Palmer murmured in Church’s ear.

"What’s the difference? Didn’t you get engaged years ago?" Church mumbled back.

Palmer paused, then emphasized, "It’s not the same!"

"How is it not the same?"

"It just is not the same!"

When people see their friends living better, they often become overly frantic.

"What’s going on?"

Wei’Er jumped onto the table, her cat-like eyes scrutinizing Church. Despite not having much contact with Church, over the years Wei’Er and Church became familiar, naturally aware of Church’s special ability of Walking in the Narrow Space.

Moreover, Wei’Er seemed curious about everyone’s romance issues.

"It’s literal, engaged, no dramatic story, no emotional disputes," Church said, "I’ve known Afeiya for quite a while, haven’t I?"

Known for quite a while...

This phrase felt surreal to Bologue; he felt time hadn’t passed, as if he had just been released from prison yesterday.

No, this wasn’t brief; it was already an extremely long time.

Back when Bologue was still an intern, Church knew Afeiya. Years went by, everyone moved forward with time, but Bologue’s peculiar time sensation as an Undead made him feel stationary.

"It’s a matter of course."

Church continued sharing his happiness, "It happened a few days ago. I had just finished a mission and went to Afeiya’s flower shop to see her. As we chatted, the conversation turned to marriage, discussing future life plans, what to do, where to settle..."

His gaze drifted, revisiting that scene.

"We had a delightful discussion, even simulated a joyful life... Suddenly, I felt it was a good time, so I picked a flower and gave it to her."

"Wow..."

Everyone chorused admiration and yearning for beauty.

"Did she impulsively agree?" Palmer voiced his dissonance, "Did she later ask, ’consider that flower bought, okay?’"

Palmer simply shattered this beautiful atmosphere, then Church delivered the final stroke.

"She did."

Church smiled helplessly, "Just a joke, I made that flower into a specimen and placed it in her shop."

"How wonderful..." Hart sighed, then asked Palmer, "Why is others’ romance so beautiful and yours so bizarre?"

"Think about it, are you sure Church’s romantic journey isn’t bizarre?" Palmer retorted.

Upon consideration, Church indeed wasn’t particularly normal either—memories constantly being wiped, yet repeatedly falling for the same person. It sounded both romantic and rough.

Shelley quietly asked, "Is there no normal emotional experience?"

They glanced at each other, eyes landing on Bologue, besides Palmer and Church, Bologue was the only one left there with emotional ties.
