Ossana meets with Holt of the Order Bureau, seeking his assistance to reform the All Secrets Order and dismantle its system of extraordinary nobility. Holt, though initially skeptical, agrees to take her to Nesanel. Ossana states her intention to Nesanel: to destroy the concept of extraordinary nobility within the All Secrets Order. Nesanel warns this will lead to civil war, and Ossana accepts the cost of reform, revealing the dire state of her order and the opposition she faces.

"But Condensers are indeed beings beyond humanity, and they should guide human civilization forward," Ossana couldn’t help but retort.

Nesanel looked at her with disappointment, "I thought you were different from those other conservative folks, that you wouldn’t hold the supremacy of the Condensers in such high regard."

"But it’s an indisputable fact that Condensers are stronger than humans."

Ossana’s tone weakened, as if conceding to Nesanel, "That’s indeed what I think, but I’m not as extreme as the radicals."

"Extreme..."

Nesanel savored the word for a moment and then dismissed it, "Let’s talk about something important first."

"The contract..."

Just as Ossana spoke, Nesanel interrupted her.

"No, no, no, I’m not talking about the contract, it’s not important at the moment."

Nesanel’s gaze sharpened, and Ossana’s heart couldn’t help but tighten, feeling as if she were being watched by some terrifying anomaly.

"What I want to know about is the Night Race."

Nesanel asked, "The Night Race’s activities within your borders, are they related to your All Secrets Order?"

"Unrelated," Ossana replied firmly, "That’s a very serious accusation."

"Are you sure? Are there really no extremists in the All Secrets Order who would collaborate with the Night Race?"

Nesanel’s voice softened, "Since the Wrath of Scorched Earth, our differences have never ceased. We believe Condensers are just powerful mortals, while you think Condensers are beings beyond humanity... The Night Race thinks so too."

Ossana took a deep breath, controlling her emotions before saying, "Deputy Director Nesanel, my purpose in coming to the Order Bureau this time is not to receive your judgment but to discuss the continuation of the contract."

"Is it to continue fulfilling the contract, not interfering with each other, or..."

"Or what? Tear up the contract and go to war with the Order Bureau?" Today, Nesanel was particularly aggressive, speaking indifferently, "Do you think the current All Secrets Order has the ability to wage war with the Order Bureau?"

Ossana said without changing her expression, "Even if there is no ability, it would still be a considerable trouble for the Order Bureau, and you wouldn’t like that choice."

"Then I guess if you continue to fulfill the contract, you would propose many conditions that would make me unhappy."

Nesanel observed Ossana’s micro-expressions, knowing he was right.

"With the advancement of technology and the development of productivity, your set of conservative noble ideas no longer work. The territories initially divided during negotiations with the Order Bureau can no longer accommodate your development. You need more land, more power. Am I right?"

Ossana was silent for a moment and nodded helplessly.

"Then for this meeting, all four Dukes should have come to see me, so why are you the only one?"

Nesanel continued, "I think the remaining three Dukes are likely the radicals we mentioned, while you are here seeking help to mediate this potential crisis."

Ossana knew Nesanel had already seen through everything, so she no longer hid it and spoke up.

"The pressure within the All Secrets Order is increasing. The so-called noble bloodline is growing, and even the street wanderers, tracing their lineage, can find illustrious names. If it were just these things, it wouldn’t be a problem, but the closed and conservative backward thinking has severely limited the development of the All Secrets Order. Even our most proud Alchemy Matrix has gradually fallen behind."

"The radicals desire to expand outward, but this undoubtedly violates the contract. They know this well too."

Ossana said tiredly, "They are seeking war, and I’m doing my utmost to stop it."

"One question: why do the radicals think that going to war can solve the current problem? Do they think they have the capacity to compete with the Order Bureau?"

Nesanel asked a crucial question.

"Or is there some external influence affecting them, making them think they can contend with the Order Bureau?"

Ossana was left speechless, and Nesanel waved a hand to bid her farewell.

"Rest for now, guest. We still have plenty of time to discuss these matters."

The darkness quickly faded away, and when her vision returned, Ossana found herself back in the chamber, at the exact spot where she had just disappeared.

She felt thoroughly confused about the uncertain future, yet she was not alone in her confusion tonight.

Bologue opened his eyes, having finally fallen asleep, only to wake up shortly after, glancing at the time. There was still a long time before dawn.

A restless feeling rose within Bologue’s heart.

"The Soulless are excellent containers, capable of holding many bizarre things."

Bologue closed his eyes, muttering to himself.

Through Saqin’s memories, Bologue could confirm that he himself was indeed a Soulless, and the soul that filled him originated from King Solomon.

From the Material Realm cast into the Ethereal Realm’s boundless void, thus obtaining the lost soul of another world’s coordinates.

The memories in Bologue’s mind were the coordinates, and once the Devil fully obtained him, it would fully gain the world’s coordinates as well.

The Material Realm would find no escape from the Devil’s grasp but would instead lead another world into the same calamity.

Bologue didn’t understand, what exactly was King Solomon planning? He understood even less about the original deal with Leviathan.

Is a soul truly necessary for himself, the Soulless?

What would happen if I were to lose my entire soul?

There were too many questions that couldn’t be figured out, so Bologue chose not to torment himself further, seeking the simplest and most straightforward solution.

Sitting up, Bologue picked up the paper on the bedside table—a document of application.

Bologue’s application for promotion to Defender.
