King Solomon's final act unleashed a catastrophic black hole, devouring the Golden Palace and Beelzebub. Simultaneously, Holt and Bologue, aided by Aimou, combined their powers to strike the Beast of the Herd, incinerating it. As the realms separated, the resulting singularity was exiled, leaving only ruins.

The distorted black hole not only tore apart the body of the Beast of the Herd, but also dragged out the endless ash that had accumulated over several decades in the Abandoned Land, several meters thick.

Once the black hole disappeared into the Material Realm carrying all evil with it, the chaotic ashes lost their gravitational pull and turned into boundless, endless gray snow.

Hours later, the ash snowfall slowly ceased, and Bologue was covered with a thick layer of ash. He used his grievance bite as a cane, piercing it into the soft ash layer, advancing as if walking in a gray snowy land, one foot deep and one foot shallow.

The Beast of the Herd vanished, along with it the broken Golden Palace, and everything King Solomon left behind, all dissipated at this moment.

Bologue coughed heavily twice, climbed over the ash hill, and gazed into the distance at the jagged piles of ruins.

Now the crystal curtain walls had completely collapsed, the transparent crystal surfaces were buried under dust, becoming murky and filthy, the towering High Towers also totally fell apart, leaving only a few remnants jutting out from the ash with sharp edges.

As for those massive walls, when the Beast of the Herd charged out, they were utterly crushed, rolled up by flesh and merged into one.

Bologue sighed; after long years, Raymond Gaudent ultimately met its complete destruction, leaving nothing behind this time, and the captivating ruins no longer existed.

"Ha... ha..."

Bologue’s breathing became painful; he slowly sat down, his whole body collapsing into the ash heap.

Gazing upward, Bologue saw the steep cliffs extending infinitely towards the sky, and the azure firmament at the end of the cliffs.

The gentle light always brought a sense of tranquility; for a moment, Bologue had the thought of sleeping here.

His skin flickering with a faint glow, Bologue felt an emptiness in his heart; Aimou then detached from Bologue’s body and sat together with him on the ash hill.

Aimou’s state wasn’t better off than Bologue; her limbs were bent and deformed to some extent, parts of the metal shell had fallen off, revealing the complex mechanical structure beneath, half of her shoulder had collapsed, and a huge metal gap stretched across her back.

She sat silently beside Bologue, and after a period of silence, having regained some strength, Bologue slowly raised his hand, revealing the Crystal Core in his palm.

The Crystal Core displayed a flawless geometric shape, composed of a series of smooth and glimmering rhombic surfaces, each reflecting different colors. The dazzling rainbow stretched to its core, whereas some were a single pure and scorching white light point, a continuous light source yet like a budding daylight, not fully expanding and growing, sealed within by King Solomon.

"I think I understand what light scorch actually is."

Bologue lifted the Crystal Core above his head, aiming it at the azure firmament; the light passed through the rhombic surfaces, refracting brilliant colors.

"This Crystal Core should be similar to the structure of those crystal curtain walls, but the difference is that this Core is the most perfect creation, while those curtain walls seem like inferior products created to form this Crystal Core."

Bologue continued, "King Solomon used those inferior products to turn Raymond Gaudent into a Crystal City, while this Core, located in the Ethereal Realm, is the city’s core."

Aimou nodded; actually, when Bologue took the Crystal Core from the myriad phenomena, causing the light scorch to extinguish, she too sensitively noticed the reason behind it all.

"This Crystal Core, the overlap points, Raymond Gaudent... King Solomon crafted the entire city into a large Alchemy Armament array. This Core is the array’s center, utilizing the infinite Ether from the Ethereal Realm, emitting magnificent rays, which are then refracted and magnified by those crystal curtain walls, thus creating the light scorch that incinerates everything."

"But it seems we may not get to witness that burning flame," Aimou said.

"Not necessarily," Bologue replied, "at least we have obtained this Crystal Core, the Heart of Light."

"Heart of Light?" Aimou asked, "Is that the name you gave it?"

"Uh-huh, I discovered it, I named it, is there a problem?"

"I thought you would come up with something more peculiar."

"Like?"

"Like super beam array core... How do you like this joke?"

Bologue paused for a moment, turning his head to look at Aimou, who was lying with him in the ash. He suddenly extended his arm to embrace Aimou, resting his whole body on Aimou’s chest.

"Not very funny, but thank you, Aimou."

Bologue hugged Aimou tightly, the ashes below were soft and warm with a faint residual heat. Pressed against the cold metal, Bologue felt his heart burning with unrest.

Aimou was bewildered by Bologue’s unexpected gesture; most of the time, Bologue was a very restrained person, even facing her, rarely revealing his emotions openly and candidly. But now he seemed like a wounded child, seeking a hug.

She didn’t ask Bologue what was wrong, and instead raised her broken hands, gently stroking Bologue’s back, embracing him with equal strength.

Bologue closed his eyes tightly, unable to stop the memories of Saqin from flooding his mind.

The pressure of combat dissipated, the taut bowstring in Bologue’s mind relaxed, and with it, those memories surged to envelop Bologue.

Soulless embryo, Saqin and Suzi, King Solomon’s promise...
