Endless Debt Chapter 1051 - 103: Reenactment of Days Past, Part 4
A few alchemy warheads accurately shot into the flames. A few seconds later, the fire extinguished, and a dull sound came, followed by several more corpses falling lifelessly to the ground.
Palmer walked out from the corner, closely following behind Bologue, his revolver lowered. He ignored the bodies strewn across the ground, appearing deep in thought.
This was not a good time for contemplation, but both of them were adept at multitasking.
As Bologue breached the iron door and charged into the next area, Palmer shared his thoughts.
"Not bad... although a bit strange, but not bad." As he spoke, he nodded his head.
Passing through the broken iron door, Palmer stood at a high vantage point. Below, in the empty field, Bologue was already engaged in battle with several Shield Guards. After dealing with numerous mercenaries, they finally faced some decent opponents.
"A Negative Power User, two Prayer Believers, is this all they have?"
In the intense clash of ether streams, Bologue contemplated, increasingly sensing something amiss within Fog Abyss Fortress. This vague, unknown feeling made it difficult for Bologue to ease his mind.
"Damn it! There’s another one!"
Jessey warned others while evading Bologue’s fierce attacks.
Being the only Negative Power User in the team, Jessey felt immense pressure the instant he clashed with Bologue—a pressure akin to death.
For ordinary Negative Power Users, cooperating in a few rounds would enable them to kill their opponent. But Bologue’s onslaught was so lethal that it turned the tables, forcing them to flee in panic.
Bologue’s strikes were incredibly swift. Jessey relied almost entirely on instinct to dodge the sword axe’s slashes. But whenever they thought they had evaded Bologue’s attack, the ground began to writhe. Along with Bologue’s missed strikes, the ground would erupt with dense spikes, expanding Bologue’s attack, causing damage to others.
With Palmer’s arrival, an even heavier pressure weighed on them. No one knew how many people had invaded Fog Abyss Fortress. Jessey perceived Bologue as the advanced team of the King’s Secret Sword.
Soon, they realized that Palmer showed no desire to join the battle; instead, he observed their duel with Bologue like an audience member. Aside from this, no reinforcements arrived—it seemed there were only the two of them.
"We can’t go on like this."
Jessey whispered in his heart, then roared at Bologue.
The thunderous roar vibrated Bologue’s mind, but only for a brief moment. In that instant, Jessey began his counterattack.
Fleeing with his back to Bologue would only lead to a brutal death. Their only chance of survival was to hold out and wait for reinforcement.
Secret Energy·Wolf’s Fury.
Bologue heard the elephantine roar and the sound of flesh tearing. Everything turned dark, then blazed violently bright again.
The beast was rapidly awakening.
An excess of ether surged into muscles, and Jessey’s body expanded rapidly. The skin seemed powerless to constrain the crazily growing flesh. Crimson growth lines ruptured one after another on the surface, with the violent tearing sound echoing like a landslide.
Jessey’s eyes had turned scarlet, his tentacle-like hair as hard as blades. An indescribable impulse surged within him, and he inadvertently let out a blood-curdling howl.
"Negative Power User of the Body Enhancement School," Bologue analyzed, "the roar affects the mind, speed greatly increased, strength is yet unknown."
He suddenly hurled the Wraith Bite, with the blade shooting forward like a spear.
