Dual Cultivator with a cultivation system Chapter 585: Ch-584: Immortal Sword Sect
Previously on Dual Cultivator with a cultivation system...
Wang Ming strode toward the Tian Family's conference hall after being summoned there.
"Young Lord!" x2
The guards in white armor standing at the entrance promptly lowered their heads in salute.
These were orphans nurtured by the family to possess unyielding loyalty to the Tian Clan. Even against an armed Eternal, they would choose death over failing to shield him with their own bodies, viewing it as the greatest honor.
Wang Ming ignored them and proceeded directly into the palace.
Throughout the path, an indifferent look stayed on Wang Ming's face, lacking the typical haughtiness and extravagance seen on other Eternals.
Still, he radiated a presence that attracted gazes from numerous passersby, all of whom offered respectful salutes.
"Young Lord."
"Greetings, Sir."
"Young Lord Tian Chenyu."
Be it guards on patrol...
Or officials managing crucial clan matters...
Or fellow Eternals...
All lowered their heads in reverence upon spotting Wang Ming.
Wang Ming simply offered a smile without replying.
While observing his surroundings during the walk, he caught the whispers of nearby young clan members.
"Hey, hey, have you heard? Important guests are in the family today, and the Clan Head himself is hosting them!"
"What? The Clan Head is a mighty powerhouse, so anyone personally welcomed by him must be one too!"
"How did you know that valuable guests have arrived?"
"I saw them when I came just now."
"The Clan Head invited him into the hall, the Grand Elder and the others were also inside, that aura was definitely strong,"
"..."
"Idiots, you don't even know—they're representatives from the Immortal Sword Sect here to recruit Senior Chenyu."
"What, really?"
"Yes."
Following this, the title of the Tian family's top genius—which Tian Yang hadn't held for ages—shifted to Tian Chenyu. His status within the Tian family soared dramatically; he relocated from his modest dwelling to a grand luxurious palace second only to the clan head's and rivaling the elders', while his monthly resources surged as well.
'Geniuses truly receive different treatment. Before, the patriarch and elders ignored someone as invisible as me, never using the term "invitation" to summon me.'
The advantages of revealing his talent were clear, yet Tian Chenyu refused to succumb to smugness or arrogance. He had foreseen this entire scenario. If he couldn't withstand mere flattery and praise without turning conceited, what point was there in the trial? To maximize the quest's rewards, he needed to foster strong ties within the Tian Family, his primary supporters.
"Oh, Young Master Tian Chenyu, the patriarch and elders are inside. This old servant has duties to attend, so he won't enter," said a butler bowing before the enormous gate.
"Well, I won't keep you any longer, old butler. Go ahead and handle your work," Wang Ming replied.
"Young Master Tian Chenyu is too courteous." The old butler grinned and departed slowly.
Wang Ming examined the entrance decorations, then pushed open the door and stepped into the hall proudly.
The hall spanned vast and empty spaces, with just a handful of top seats taken by few individuals: the clan head and three stern-faced elders conversing with apparent sect representatives.
"Tian Chenyu, you've arrived?"
Spotting Tian Chenyu as the newcomer, the elders' cold expressions melted into broad grins.
"Oh, so this is the Tian Clan's young prodigy." A voice echoed through the room. Wang Ming turned toward it, spotting a middle-aged man eyeing him curiously.
"You are?" Wang Ming arched a brow and inquired.
"This is Sect Master Du Hai of the Immortal Sword Sect, the premier sect for sword cultivation," Tian Xue stated evenly. Wang Ming's eyes widened as he regarded the man.
His recently acquired memories informed him that every Sect Master was a formidable Eternal at the Pure Core Realm—a genuine powerhouse.
"Greetings, Sect Master," Wang Ming said, cupping his hands.
"Excellent, unlike most Eternals swollen with pride. The Patriarch spoke truly—you possess a promising path ahead," Du Hai commended.
"Didn't you mention interest in sword cultivation? That's why, upon telling Sect Master Du Hai of your extraordinary talent, he journeyed here himself to meet you," Tian Xue clarified.
"I did… oh yes, I did," Wang Ming felt puzzled at first, but then the simulation details rushed back to him. Since he sought to boost his sword comprehension, the system had picked the Sword Sect automatically for him.
Du Hai presented his tempting proposal: "How about it? Do you want to join the Immortal Sword Sect? With your raw talent and status as an Eternal, you can easily start as a core disciple, and I can also take you as my personal disciple." Tian Xue looked stunned upon hearing this. 'Oh, I did not expect Tian Chenyu to seize such a chance. Anyway, it will benefit the family greatly.'
"I would be honored," Wang Ming replied instantly. No fool would reject an offer like that.
"Excellent, now reveal your sword talent," Du Hai declared while drawing out a crystalline sword. He gazed at Wang Ming and instructed, "Put your hand on it."
Wang Ming obeyed, and the sword burst into a brilliant blue glow.
"What?! You've already grasped sword intent? A heaven-sent sword genius!" Du Hai's eyes bulged in utter shock. He figured Wang Ming was born with sword intent, oblivious to the fact that Wang Ming had cultivated it in the simulation and carried that advancement over.
