Dual Cultivator Reborn [System In The Cultivation World] Chapter 2 - Shameless Bastard

Previously on Dual Cultivator Reborn [System In The Cultivation World]...
Yohan, a seasoned player of a famous cultivation game, finds himself reborn in a new world after a tragic accident. In this unfamiliar body of his previous life’s counterpart, he learns that he is seen as a disgrace to the prestigious Lin clan due to his lack of cultivation talent. His father, Su Lin, confronts him with furious intent, causing Yohan to faint from fear and blood loss. Just as tensions escalate, an imposing figure, Yohan's grandfather, intervenes, taking Yohan away, leaving behind a frustrated Su Lin and a shocked crowd. The Lin clan's reputation hangs in the balance as Yohan’s fate remains uncertain.

A towering entrance stood before an elderly man, marked by two massive dragon statues flanking the threshold. This was the Great Gate of the Lin Clan. Upon spotting the elder, two sentries rushed forward, their eyes immediately landing on the unconscious youth held in his grasp.

“Welcome back, Elder.” Both guards offered a deep bow. The old man simply nodded, proceeding into the Lin Clan estate without sparing the pair a single glance.

Once the Elder had vanished from sight, the two guards let out a heavy breath of relief.

“Sigh, that useless Young Master... what kind of trouble did he cause this time? Looking at that innocent face of his, who would believe he is the trash of the mighty Lin Clan?” one guard remarked, turning toward his companion.

“You fool, do you have a death wish? If someone overhears you, it won't just be you; your whole family will be executed. Keep your mouth shut! Even if he is trash, he still carries the blood of the Lin Clan,” the other guard hissed in a freezing tone.

“Um... you're right. I need to watch my tongue. I don't want any trouble,” he muttered fearfully.

Meanwhile,

The Elder carried Yohan toward his private quarters. The Lin Clan territory was immense, spanning an area comparable to ten football fields and filled with elegant structures that radiated a profound aura.

After walking a short distance, the old man arrived at a stunning mansion nestled amidst lush greenery. Numerous guards stood watch over the residence; they all bowed respectfully as the Elder passed, though they completely ignored the boy in his arms.

Paying the guards no mind, the Elder entered the mansion while still supporting his grandson.

“Father, what has happened to my son?” A striking woman, roughly thirty-five years of age, hurried toward them. With her exquisite features, raven hair, and piercing blue eyes, she possessed the beauty of a goddess. However, seeing her son’s condition caused her heart to skip a beat.

“Father, what happened to Yohan? Why is he like this?” she cried, tears streaming down her face as she took her son into her own arms and pulled him into a tight embrace.

“Sigh, he was skipping his duties at the Sect again to loiter downtown. When Su Lin discovered him, he flew into a rage.” The old man sighed deeply as he recounted the events.

“Su Lin did this?” She fixed the old man with a sharp, serious look. Seeing her expression, the Elder merely shook his head.

“Alena, you must understand. He is seventeen now and your only child. Compared to his peers, he is incredibly weak, yet he continues to slack off and bring shame to our prestigious clan. I often worry about what the future holds if he persists in this behavior. I fear for the legacy of the Lin Clan,” he said, looking at the woman beside him.

“Um... Father...” She started to speak but found herself without a way to defend her son's actions. The Elder narrowed his eyes as he looked down at Yohan.

“He spends his time chasing girls and fooling around in the city. He hasn't even achieved a breakthrough in his first Cultivation realm, despite it being over six months since he entered the Divine Blossom Sect. He has no talent for Cultivation and has become the laughing stock of the Sect. Because of him, we are losing face.” The old man closed his eyes, his voice tinged with genuine sorrow.

“I believed he might excel as a Dual Cultivator, but it seems I was mistaken, Father. He is my only son; I cannot bring myself to be heartless toward him. Perhaps one day he will see the error of his ways and lead this great Lin Clan,” she replied with a pained smile.

“I wonder when that day will finally arrive,” the old man whispered, glancing at Yohan, who was sleeping peacefully.

“Watch over him. I have matters to attend to at the Elder’s Hall; I will return later,” he told Alena. In the next breath, he vanished from her presence.

“Sigh, my son... why can't you see the weight of the responsibilities you carry? Why must you hurt your father and grandfather with your antics?” she whispered softly, placing a gentle kiss on Yohan’s forehead.

“Mother...” Yohan mumbled in his sleep. Alena let out a small chuckle, smiling down at him.

“My heart tells me that one day, you will make us all proud,” she murmured, stroking his cheek with deep affection.

Elsewhere,

“Su Lin.” A man stood by a window, staring out at the landscape, when a voice echoed through the room behind him.

Su Lin turned his head at the sound and took a steadying breath upon seeing the old man standing there.

“Father,” he said, his expression clouded with misery. The Elder nodded in response, stroking his long, snowy beard.

“He is your only son. Why must you be so harsh with him? I grasp your frustration, but he is still young and naive. He will eventually understand his faults,” the Elder advised his son.

“But Father, we are Cultivators. A single blunder can lead to the downfall of our entire family. The world outside is chaotic and merciless,” Su Lin countered, looking back at the old man.

“I know. Regardless, let us set this aside for the moment. There is a pressing matter to discuss; come to the meeting hall.” The Elder looked at his son before vanishing. Su Lin exhaled, his fists clenching tight, before he too disappeared from the room.

Meanwhile,

“Don’t kill me, you bastard! I’m your only son!” Yohan screamed at the top of his lungs, his deep blue eyes snapping open. He scrambled up from the bed, frantically checking his limbs.

“Sigh, thank the heavens I’m alive. That was the most terrifying nightmare I’ve ever had,” he muttered to himself. His gaze then drifted to the corner of the room, where a woman stood watching him, her mouth hanging open in shock.

“Sigh, what on earth...” Yohan gave a self-deprecating smile as he looked at the beautiful lady.
