Dual Cultivator Reborn [System In The Cultivation World] Chapter 1021: It’s all written on your face

The next moment, Ana, carrying a tea tray, entered the room.
"I bring tea and snacks for you, young master," she said, putting the tray on the table. Yohan tilted his head and looked at Ana, who was elegantly standing beside the table and looking at him.
"It’s been a while, isn’t it, Ana?" Yohan whispered as he approached the table and took a seat. In the past, Ana used to serve him tea once in a while and they used to talk a lot. After coming to this world, he was interested in knowing everything; Ana was the only one whom he could count on in his early days in this different world.
"Indeed, it’s been a while, young master. I don’t even remember when the last time I served you tea was; it’s been a very long time ago, I guess!" she said as she carefully poured the tea for him. But something surprising happened when Yohan asked her to fill another cup.
"Pour one for yourself and take a seat!" he said, looking in her direction. Ana was surprised when he asked her to join him. With a hesitant look on her face, she took the seat and looked at him. He was nothing like his old self; the man who was sitting right in front of her was calm and composed, carrying the aura of a noble.
He was nothing like his younger self, where he used to get offended over small things. Working under him was a nightmare for anyone; no one wanted to serve him, fearing they might lose their life if they offended the young master of the clan. Serving him was so hard that no one could even survive for a single week, let alone a month; many came and many gone, but no one ever had taken a place in Yohan’s heart.
Things changed when Ana came to this clan, an orphan who had nowhere to go. Alena had taken her into this clan knowing she was pretty young and would not have survived on her own if she were left alone; worst, she might have been sold as a slave.
Ana was diligent and pretty hardworking; everyone had taken a liking to her, including the core members of the clan. Same went for Yohan; she had become the core part of his daily life; she was the only maid who was serving him.
"The tea is fantastic, Ana." Yohan took a sip as he looked at Ana, who was sheepishly looking at him; her cheeks slightly turned red hearing Yohan.
"Thank... thank you, young master!" she said while being flustered. Yohan noticed she was flustered, but he hadn’t said anything; after all, she was always like that—a completely different woman around him. To be precise, she had a weird personality: in public, she was different around him, maintaining herself as a professional maid, but when she was alone with him, there was this weird personality that came out, completely different from her usual self.
Yohan had gotten used to this side of her; he was even convinced this was her real personality. The other personality was simply a facade that she put in front of other people so she could survive without being trampled by anyone.
"Is she settled on the fourth floor?" he finally asked, as he wondered whether Elaine liked the place or not. Ana snapped out of it and she nodded her head.
"I provided her one of the best rooms on the fourth floor... and she likes it!" she whispered. Yohan slightly raised his brows in confusion, as he didn’t understand why Ana was looking worried for some reason.
"I think it’s a good thing that she likes that place. Why are you making that face? You can tell me if something is bothering you," Yohan asked, as he wondered why she was anxious.
"Young master, the thing is..." Ana started explaining her worries regarding Evelyn and Elaine staying on the same floor. The moment Yohan learned Evelyn was inside the clan, he immediately spat the tea while having a weird smile on his face.
"You are telling me she is staying here!" Yohan exclaimed, and the next moment, he used his spiritual senses, and sure enough, one of the rooms on the fourth floor was protected by high-end barriers and soundproof arrays placed by Evelyn.
Ana immediately moved to Yohan’s side, cleaning his robe where he spilled the tea. He was indeed getting occupied by other thoughts, as he couldn’t have noticed their presence inside the clan.
"Don’t tell me she knows... that’s the reason why she chose that place," Yohan whispered, thinking about Elaine’s decision of staying on the fourth floor. He also wondered whether the two of them had some kind of connection; after all, both of them held a frightening cultivation base: they are the cultivators of the late Heavenly Soul Realm.
"I wanted to tell you, but I decided not to bring Lady Evelyn’s name in front of an unknown person that I saw for the first time. Please forgive me, young master!" Ana explained why she hadn’t told him earlier. Yohan took a long sigh and then simply placed his hand on Ana’s shoulder.
"No need to fret, Ana... it truly isn’t your fault. Besides, I doubt it will cause any issues if they happen to reside on the same floor," Yohan said, attempting a nonchalant demeanor for Ana’s benefit. Nevertheless, a knot of unease tightened in his chest regarding Elaine’s choice to stay on the same floor as Evelyn. He couldn't shake the feeling that it was far from a mere coincidence.
"Are you certain all will be well, Young Master Yohan?" Ana inquired, her brow furrowed with concern. Yohan let out a slow breath, then met her gaze with a forced smile.
"Don’t trouble yourself over them. Just refill my cup. I’m confident they will conduct themselves appropriately," he stated, his eyes flickering towards Ana. Receiving his assurance, Ana’s tension finally seemed to ease.
"Now, tell me... what is it that brings you here so late? You ought to be resting in the staff quarters. Is everything satisfactory with you?" Yohan inquired. The instant these words left his lips, Ana’s expression shifted dramatically; she promptly downed the entire cup of tea and abruptly stood from her seat.
"It’s nothing serious, Young Master Yohan... I... I merely came to check on you, nothing more, haha... Please pardon my intrusion; I shouldn’t have come at such a late hour!" Ana stammered, a peculiar grin plastered across her face.
Yohan’s frown deepened as he observed her peculiar behavior; her attempt at deception was rather poor. He sensed that something was indeed weighing on her mind, and she was reluctant to voice it.
"Is there something you require from me, Ana? Your inner thoughts are quite evident on your countenance."
