Dragon Monarch System Chapter 1260:- New Orders from Emperor Ren

"And one more thing. Tell them that if an opportunity presents itself, I want them to kill Aditya. As long as Aditya is killed, this entire war will be won. Without him, the Anti-Emperor Faction will have no choice but to surrender." Ren added while staring coldly at the image of his cousin being projected by the artifact.
In Ren’s mind, Aditya was the most important person on the opposing side. After all, the entire Anti-Emperor Faction had been formed with the goal of removing Ren from the throne and placing Aditya in his position. If Aditya died, there would be no one left to take his place as the next Emperor, and the nobles supporting him would have no reason to continue fighting.
At least, that was what Ren believed.
What Ren did not understand was that even if Aditya was somehow killed on the battlefield, the Anti-Emperor Faction would not simply surrender. As long as Malakor Harrington and Boris were still alive, neither of them would allow the war to end with Ren remaining on the throne.
Both men had already made up their minds about removing Ren from power. They had gone too far and sacrificed too much to simply abandon everything because of Aditya’s death. Even if something happened to Aditya, they would continue fighting against Ren until one side was completely defeated.
Boris, as the previous Emperor, could not allow his descendant to destroy the Empire that he ruled and protected for more than 20,000 years. And Malakor Harrington could not allow Ren to continue to remain as the Emperor because the entire Harrington Faction had suffered a lot because of Ren.
Both men knew very well that this dangerous snake would not stop even after the war is finished. He will make sure that the entire Harrington Family including everyone from the Harrington Family and Aditya’s family was destroyed.
However, the same could not be said for the Emperor Faction. If Ren was killed, captured, or somehow removed from the war, there was a very high possibility that the entire Emperor Faction would surrender almost immediately.
This was because the loyalty of many nobles supporting Ren was not nearly as strong as he believed. Although there were still some powerful nobles who genuinely supported Ren and were willing to fight for him until the end, a large number of nobles had joined his side mainly because of the benefits he had promised them.
Before the war began, Ren had promised enormous wealth, political power, valuable territories, and other rewards to the nobles who supported him. Naturally, these rewards would only be given after he successfully defeated the Anti-Emperor Faction and secured his position as Emperor.
Because of these promises, many nobles had decided to support Ren with their private armies. Some had even sent a large portion of their available soldiers, hoping that their contributions would earn them greater rewards once the war ended.
However, after witnessing the enormous losses suffered during the very first battle, many of these nobles were already beginning to regret their decisions.
Almost one hundred and fifty thousand soldiers had been killed, while the total number of dead and injured had exceeded two hundred thousand. Many of these casualties had come from the private armies of the nobles supporting Ren.
For these nobles, losing thousands of trained soldiers was not something they could easily recover from. Training and maintaining a private army required enormous amounts of money and resources. Furthermore, soldiers were also necessary to protect their territories, maintain order, and defend their families against enemies.
If they continued suffering losses at this rate, some noble families might end up losing most of their military strength before the civil war even reached its final stage. And the worst part was that there was no guarantee that Ren would actually win.
Because of this, many nobles had already started thinking that it would be better if Ren was removed from the war as early as possible. If he was killed or captured, they would have a reasonable excuse to surrender without continuing the battle.
At the very least, they would be able to return to their territories with whatever soldiers and resources they still had left. For many of them, preserving their remaining strength was slowly becoming more important than the wealth and rewards Ren had promised.
This was one of the biggest differences between Ren and Aditya. Aditya had earned the respect and support of many powerful individuals through his own abilities and achievements. Despite his short time here in the Main Continent, he had repeatedly demonstrated his strength, intelligence, leadership, and ability to govern an empire.
His achievements as the Emperor of the Istarin Empire were already known to many nobles on the Main Continent. He had shown that he was not only an extremely powerful cultivator but also a capable ruler who could lead an empire toward greater prosperity.
Furthermore, Aditya had proven his abilities in many different fields. Whether it was leading armies, managing his empire, dealing with powerful enemies, or making important decisions during difficult situations, he had repeatedly shown that he was capable of handling enormous responsibilities.
Because of this, the nobles and powerful individuals supporting him had genuine confidence in his abilities. They believed that Aditya was capable of defeating Ren and becoming a better Emperor of the Celestial Dragon Empire.
More importantly, Aditya had not needed to promise them enormous wealth or special benefits to gain their support. He had earned their trust through his actions.
Ren, on the other hand, had failed to earn that same level of respect from many of the nobles standing beside him. Although he was the current Emperor, a large number of his supporters were only loyal to him because of the benefits they expected to receive after the war.
As long as Ren continued winning, these nobles would gladly remain by his side. However, if the situation became too dangerous and the possibility of defeat increased, their loyalty would quickly begin to disappear.
And after the terrible losses suffered during the first battle, that possibility was already beginning to become a reality. Unfortunately for Ren, he was still unaware of just how many nobles under his command were already considering abandoning him if the situation became any worse.
Back on the battlefield, Aditya finally stopped launching his compressed crimson flame bullets toward the Emperor Faction’s army. After continuously using such powerful attacks, his mana reserves had dropped considerably. Although he still had some mana remaining, Aditya understood that it would be foolish to continue attacking until he had completely exhausted himself.
By now, he had already consumed around seventy percent of his total mana, leaving him with only thirty percent remaining. For an ordinary Sixth Order cultivator, this amount of mana might still be enough to fight for some time. However, Aditya was currently standing in the middle of a massive battlefield where countless powerful enemies were still present. He could not afford to let his mana reserves fall dangerously low.
After all, he knew very well that there were still several Seventh Order cultivators supporting the Emperor Faction. Although they had not directly interfered in the battle until now, there was no guarantee that they would continue remaining silent after witnessing the enormous destruction he had caused. If one of them suddenly decided to attack him while his mana reserves were almost empty, it could place him in a very dangerous situation.
For this reason, Aditya decided to stop attacking and allow his mana to recover. He had already taken Mana recovery pills. There was no need for him to take unnecessary risks, especially when he had already accomplished far more than he had originally intended.
As Aditya floated high above the battlefield, he slowly looked around the area beneath him. The sight that greeted him was completely different from what he had seen when he first arrived.
The Emperor Faction’s backline had suffered enormous destruction. Large craters could be seen everywhere, with some of them being hundreds of meters wide. The ground surrounding these craters had been completely burned by his crimson flames, while countless destroyed weapons, broken cannons, and pieces of armor were scattered across the area.
Some of the craters were still filled with burning crimson flames, despite the heavy rain that continued falling from the dark clouds above. Thick smoke was rising from several locations, and large sections of the enemy’s backline had been completely destroyed.
Looking at the destruction caused by his own attacks, Aditya could not help but feel extremely satisfied.
He had managed to destroy a large part of the Emperor Faction’s support troops within just a few minutes. Their archers, mages, and artillery operators had suffered enormous losses, which would make it extremely difficult for the remaining enemy soldiers to continue fighting against the Anti-Emperor Faction.
Furthermore, his actions had completely changed the momentum of the battle. Before his arrival, both armies had been fighting fiercely, with neither side willing to give up. However, after he started attacking, the Emperor Faction had suffered such enormous losses that their commanders were now struggling to maintain control over their remaining soldiers.
