Dragon Monarch System Chapter 1211:- 3rd Challenge - Find Location of Alen and Elena [I]
Previously on Dragon Monarch System...
Now that they were inside the Imperial Royal Palace, Aditya and Rin had already managed to overcome the first two major challenges of their plan.
The first was entering the Capital. Compared to everything else, that had actually been the easiest part. The second, and far more difficult challenge, had been entering the Imperial Royal Palace itself.
With the level of security surrounding this place, secretly sneaking inside without attracting attention would have been nearly impossible. Without Roy’s help and the immense respect that the former Prime Minister still commanded among the palace guards, Aditya and Rin would have been forced to take much greater risks.
But now, they were finally inside. This brought them to their third major challenge. And that was finding Aditya’s parents. "The most obvious assumption would be that my parents are still inside their bedroom." Aditya said while looking at Roy and Rin.
"But we cannot simply assume that they are there, and most importantly we don’t know the level of security around them."
"For all we know, Ren might have moved them somewhere else. The Imperial Royal Palace even has its own underground prison. Who knows? My parents could be locked inside there right now."
"So before we do anything else, we need to determine their exact location. Otherwise, we could waste valuable time searching the wrong place."
Roy frowned deeply. This was another problem that he could not easily solve. He could not simply walk up to his best friend, the man responsible for overseeing the entire Imperial Royal Palace, and casually ask, ’Excuse me, my friend. Where exactly are you keeping Aditya’s parents?’
That would be ridiculous. No matter how close their friendship was, asking such a question would immediately make his friend suspicious. Considering the ongoing civil war and the strict orders preventing anyone from meeting Alen and Elena, there was simply no believable reason for Roy to suddenly become interested in their exact location.
They needed another way to find them. Yet while Roy appeared troubled, Aditya looked completely calm. Even Rin did not seem particularly worried. Roy noticed their expressions and narrowed his eyes slightly.
"Rin." Aditya suddenly said.
"This is where you play your part."
Hearing this name, Roy froze. For a second, he thought he had misheard the name. Then his eyes slowly shifted toward the young woman standing beside Aditya.
Something suddenly clicked inside his mind. Roy’s eyes widened dramatically as he stared at her.
"Wait..." He lowered his voice instinctively.
"Rin?" His expression immediately changed.
"Are you the Goddess of Music!?" Roy was so shocked that he nearly shouted the final words aloud. Fortunately, at the last moment, he managed to control his voice and reduce it to an urgent whisper.
His eyes immediately darted around their surroundings to make sure none of the nearby guards had heard him. Only after confirming that no one appeared to have noticed did Roy turn back toward Rin, still staring at her in complete disbelief.
"Yes, I am the Goddess of Music. And I’m also a female Divine Dragon." Rin replied in a playful tone.
Roy stared at her in complete silence. For the next few moments, the former Prime Minister seemed to have completely forgotten how to speak.
As far as Roy knew, the Goddess of Music had mysteriously disappeared around the same time he had retired from his position as Prime Minister. Despite the efforts made to locate her, no one had been able to find any trace of her anywhere on the Main Continent.
Eventually, people began coming up with their own assumptions. Some believed that Rin had temporarily left the Main Continent to travel around the Six Continents. Others suspected that she had gone there specifically to search for her fiancé, Aditya.
Who would have imagined that the latter assumption was actually very close to the truth? Not only were Aditya and Rin together now, but Aditya had even brought the Goddess of Music directly into the Imperial Royal Palace to help him locate where his parents were being kept.
Roy slowly looked between the two of them. This revelation also forced him to reconsider some of the other rumours he had heard recently.
There had been many reports claiming that several Goddesses had appeared beside Aditya. Until now, Roy had remained somewhat sceptical. Rumours surrounding important figures were often exaggerated, especially during a civil war when both sides were constantly trying to strengthen their own reputation.
But the Goddess of Music was standing directly in front of him. That alone proved that at least some of those supposedly unbelievable rumours were actually true.
If Rin was here with Aditya, then Roy had a strong feeling that the other Goddesses associated with him were probably somewhere in Axel City right now, most likely staying at the Harrington Family’s mansion.
’Just what kind of people has this brat gathered around himself during the few years he was gone?’ The more Roy learned about the former Crown Prince, the more difficult it became to connect the young man standing before him with the little boy he remembered from the Imperial Royal Palace.
"Well, Rin can use her voice to charm other maids and servants. Once someone falls under her charm, they will temporarily lose the will to resist her questions and reveal whatever they know about my parents. So if any of the servants know where my parents are being kept, they can tell us."
Roy slowly nodded his head in understanding. He knew that the Goddess of Music had this ability back when she was just a child. This actually sounded like a good plan.
Aditya then turned toward Roy with a rather sneaky smile. "Now, Uncle, I need you to create a few opportunities for my so-called dear sister to have private conversations with some of the servants working inside the Imperial Royal Palace."
Roy’s eyebrow immediately began twitching violently once again. He had thought his work was finally finished. Yet this brat was still asking him to do more.
Roy released a helpless sigh before reluctantly nodding his head. "Fine."
Fortunately, finding servants was hardly difficult inside the Imperial Royal Palace.
Not long afterward, Roy approached a few female servants who happened to be passing through the area while carrying large baskets filled with freshly harvested vegetables. The vegetables had come directly from the garden that Elena had personally taken care of for many decades.
Since Elena had stopped visiting the garden, the palace servants had taken responsibility for maintaining it. The garden itself was enormous and produced a surprisingly large amount of vegetables. In fact, its production was enough to supply most of the Imperial Royal Palace’s daily needs without requiring them to purchase many vegetables from outside.
There was often even excess produce. Because of this, the servants working within the Imperial Royal Palace enjoyed surprisingly balanced and nutritious meals every day, with plenty of fresh vegetables available to them.
After becoming Emperor, Ren had never changed this arrangement. More accurately, he was probably too occupied with far more important matters to concern himself with something as insignificant as the palace vegetable supply.
Roy casually introduced Rin to the female servants as his distant relative who was interested in working within the Imperial Royal Palace.
Rin smiled warmly at them. The moment she began speaking, a subtle power mixed with her voice. There was no need for Rin to issue any obvious commands. Her charm had already taken effect.
"Can you truthfully tell me whether any of you have recently seen His Former Majesty Alen or Her Former Majesty Elena? Or perhaps you know where they are currently staying?" Rin asked in an extremely low voice. The servants immediately fell under the influence of her charm.
Rin was now a Sixth Order cultivator, while these servants were merely First Order or Second Order cultivators. The difference between them was simply too enormous. None of the women had even the slightest possibility of resisting the charming effect contained within Rin’s voice.
However, all of them shook their heads.
"No."
"We haven’t seen either of them recently."
"We don’t know where they are."
Hearing their answers, Aditya and Rin were naturally disappointed. Roy, however, did not find the result surprising at all.
"Not every servant working inside the Imperial Royal Palace has permission to personally serve members of the Imperial Family. Ask them if they know someone who might have that kind of access." Roy quietly explained.
Rin nodded before turning back toward the servants. "Do you know anyone who might be able to answer my question?" Rin asked sweetly.
This time, one of the female servants immediately nodded. "Yes. There is someone."
The others seemed to remember the same person. "She has been responsible for personally serving His Former Majesty Alen and Her Former Majesty Elena for many years."
Aditya’s eyes immediately sharpened. This was exactly the kind of person they needed. Rin maintained the same gentle smile.
"Can you bring her here to meet me?"
"Of course." The female servants immediately nodded their heads. Without showing the slightest hesitation, they turned around and left to find the woman who had personally served Aditya’s parents.
