Dragon Monarch System Chapter 1159:- Amelia wants to be a daughter-in-law

"This is Riya." Athena began as she gestured toward her.
Elena’s gaze immediately moved toward Riya before a warm smile appeared on her face. Among the newcomers standing before her, there were two people whom she could already recognize without needing any introduction. One was Amelia, whom she and Alen had known for many years, while the other was naturally Riya.
After all, it was rather difficult for Elena not to recognize the Goddess of Nature. Even when Riya was young, she had looked like a smaller and cuter version of her mother. Now that she had fully grown into a beautiful woman, the resemblance between mother and daughter had become even more striking.
Riya looked almost identical to Amelia. Their facial features were so similar that anyone unfamiliar with them could easily mistake the two for sisters rather than mother and daughter. Looking at Riya standing beside Amelia almost felt as though Amelia had somehow created a younger copy of herself.
The resemblance was simply that strong.
However, despite their almost identical appearances, there were still a few noticeable differences between mother and daughter. The most obvious difference was their demeanor.
Amelia naturally carried the mature and composed presence of an experienced woman, while Riya had a much gentler and softer presence. Amelia’s figure was also more developed than her daughter’s, while their different outfits, expressions, and mannerisms made it easy enough to tell them apart once someone spent a little time around them.
Elena continued looking at Riya with a nostalgic smile. She had actually known Riya since she was a small child. Back when Aditya and Riya both lived on the Main Continent, the two had been childhood friends and would play together almost every day.
Because of that, Amelia frequently brought her daughter to visit the Imperial Family, allowing Elena to see little Riya many times during those years.
Back then, the two families were very close. Once again, Elena and Alen felt very guilty for what they did. They destroyed the close relationship that existed between two families.
"The last time I saw you, you were a chubby little six or seven-year-old girl whom Amelia still used to carry around." Elena chuckled as memories of those peaceful days returned to her.
Meanwhile, Riya felt embarrassed. When she was young, she was a little bit of an airhead.
Hearing those words, even Amelia could not help but feel nostalgic. Back then, her daughter had been small, innocent, and extremely attached to her. Riya would constantly cling to Amelia and follow her everywhere she went. Looking at the beautiful grown woman standing before her now made those memories feel strangely distant.
Riya became slightly nervous under Elena’s affectionate gaze, but she still offered her a polite smile and nodded her head.
"Hello, Auntie!"
Elena immediately shook her head. "Call me Mom or Mommy. You used to call me Mom when you were little."
Riya nodded her head with a shy yet nervous smile.
When she was still a child, she had indeed called Elena mom without properly understanding what the word meant or why she was using it. Since she spent so much time playing with Aditya, she had simply copied him. Whenever Aditya called Elena ’Mom,’ little Riya naturally did the same.
Back then, nobody had thought much of it. Yet now, after so many years had passed and Riya had become one of the women who would eventually marry Aditya, that innocent childhood habit suddenly seemed strangely appropriate.
Riya was slightly nervous, and it was only natural for her to feel this way. Although she had met Alen and Elena many times when she was young, this meeting was completely different from those childhood encounters.
Back then, she was simply Aditya’s childhood friend who frequently visited the Imperial Family to play with him. She had been too young to properly understand what being Aditya’s fiancée actually meant.
Now, however, Riya was standing before them as Aditya’s future wife.
That difference alone made this meeting feel much more important to her. She wanted to leave a good first impression on both of Aditya’s parents, especially Elena. Even though they already knew her from childhood, Riya could not help but wonder whether they would approve of the woman she had grown into and whether they would be happy to accept her as their son’s future wife.
This mattered even more to Riya now that the misunderstandings between Aditya and his parents had finally been cleared. His relationship with Alen and Elena had returned to normal, and she could clearly see how important that was to him.
In fact, when Riya had previously asked Aditya how he felt after finally meeting his parents again after such a long separation, she had seen one of the most genuine smiles ever appear on his face. There had been no burden or hidden sadness behind that smile. It was filled entirely with happiness, warmth, and contentment.
Seeing Aditya that happy had also changed the way Riya viewed his parents.
They were no longer simply the people who had given birth to the man she loved. They were an important part of his life and his happiness. As his future wife, it was only natural that Riya wanted to have a good relationship with them as well.
That was why, despite usually being calm around others, she could not completely hide her nervousness while standing before Elena now.
Friendly as ever, Elena reached forward and gently took Riya’s hands into her own. Any seriousness she had shown while scolding Aditya earlier was completely gone, replaced by a warm and excited smile as she looked at the young woman standing before her.
"Now look at you. You have grown into such a beautiful and mature woman. Our son is very lucky to have someone as outstanding as you as his wife."
"Thank you, Mother-in-law." Riya replied in a stiff tone. The mother-in-law part was very stiff in her tongue.
Her response came out far stiffer than she intended, almost causing Aditya to laugh. It was extremely rare to see Riya this nervous around anyone. In fact, Aditya could not remember ever seeing her behave this stiffly before. Even when she had openly and boldly declared her love for him, she had barely shown any nervousness. Yet now, simply standing in front of his mother as his future wife was enough to make her unusually tense.
Of course, Aditya understood why this situation was different. Riya had met Elena many times when she was little, but those meetings had happened when she was merely his childhood friend. Now she was meeting Elena while fully understanding that this woman would eventually become her mother-in-law. Naturally, Riya wanted Elena to have a good impression of her.
Normally, Lilith would have been the first person to notice Riya’s nervousness and tease her about it. This time, however, Lilith remained strangely quiet.
The reason was simple. She was even more nervous than Riya.
At least Riya had met Alen and Elena several times during her childhood and already had some history with them. Lilith had never properly met either of Aditya’s parents before. This would be their first real introduction, and there was one particular matter that made her especially nervous about how they might react to her.
And that particular matter was Sasha.
Lilith was Sasha’s mother, yet both mother and daughter were in love with the same man. Both had also become intimate with Aditya, and both intended to marry him in the future. Lilith knew perfectly well that there were special circumstances behind how their relationships had developed, and neither she nor Sasha viewed the situation as something strange anymore.
The girls or anyone from the Dragon Palace did not find this strange at all. However, explaining it to Aditya’s parents was an entirely different matter.
For perhaps the first time in a very long while, the normally confident Succubus Empress found herself genuinely worried about what someone else might think of her.
Upon hearing Riya call her Mother-in-law, Elena immediately shook her head. Although the title was respectful, she did not like how formal and distant it sounded, especially when coming from someone who was going to become part of her family.
"Call me Mother, Mom, or Mommy. Don’t call me Mother-in-law. That’s far too formal." Elena gently corrected her while still holding Riya’s hands. "You are my son’s future wife. That means you are also my daughter."
Riya visibly relaxed after hearing those words. The acceptance she had been slightly nervous about receiving had come far more easily and warmly than she had expected.
Elena then turned toward the other girls standing nearby. Her smile became even brighter as her gaze moved from one face to another.
"And that applies to all of you as well. From now on, all of you are my precious daughters whether you like it or not." Elena ended her words with a playful wink, making it clear that none of them were going to be given a choice in the matter.
The truth was that Elena had always wanted daughters of her own. She loved Aditya dearly, but there had always been a small part of her that wondered what it would have been like to raise a daughter.
Now, after so many years, she suddenly found herself surrounded by several beautiful young women who would eventually become her daughters through marriage. It was difficult for Elena to contain her excitement.
However, among the women standing there, Amelia had a slightly different reaction.
She quietly looked at Elena while wondering whether those words included her as well.
Unlike the others, Amelia had not openly revealed her feelings for Aditya. She had kept those emotions hidden, afraid of admitting them not only to Aditya but also to the people around her. Because of that, Elena currently had no reason to consider Amelia one of her son’s future wives.
Still, hearing Elena so easily call the other women her daughters caused a complicated feeling to appear in Amelia’s heart.
’Would those words apply to me as well... if she knew?’ For now, Amelia kept that question entirely to herself.
