Malakor Harrington strengthens Axel City's defenses after a previous attack, implementing new security measures and expanding the military. He learns two powerful Seventh-Order cultivators are waiting outside the city to see Boris, whom Malakor anticipates will engage them in a physical reunion.

The moment Boris stepped outside the city walls, two streaks of light shot down from the night sky before landing a short distance in front of him. As the light faded, two familiar figures appeared.

The instant they saw Boris standing before them, both of them rushed forward without the slightest hesitation. Their voices were filled with raw emotion that they made no attempt to hide. Although many decades had passed since they had last met, that single word carried the same respect, gratitude, and affection they had held for him since the day he had accepted them as his disciples.

To the outside world, Boris had been the previous Emperor of the Celestial Dragon Empire.

To them...He had always been their father.

Neither of them had truly experienced the warmth of a family while growing up. It was Boris who had given them a home when they had nowhere else to go. He had taught them how to cultivate, guided them through countless hardships, and personally raised them into the people they had become today. He had never treated them as mere disciples or subordinates.

He had treated them as his own children.

The rest of the Imperial Family had done the same. From the princes and princesses to the members of the royal household, everyone regarded the two of them as part of the family rather than servants or followers.

Although they did not share the Imperial bloodline, they had long since become members of Boris’s household in every way that truly mattered.

For them, returning here was not simply the reunion of disciples with their master. It was the return of two children to the man they had always considered their father.

Around they learned that Boris was leaving for the Dragon Mountain Range, both of them immediately understood what that journey truly meant. They knew their master better than anyone else. The Dragon Mountain Range was a place where all Previous Emperors and Elders of the Empire rested. Inside the Pocket Dimension, there was many tombs of many great figures from the Celestial Dragon Empire resting there.

Neither of them tried to stop him because they knew that once Boris made a decision, no one could change his mind. Not to mention, they also understood that Boris, having lived so long, was tired and needed rest. He deserved rest more than anyone in this Empire.

From that day onward, both disciples accepted a painful reality in their hearts.

Their master had died. Instead of allowing grief to consume them, they chose to faithfully carry out the final responsibility Boris had entrusted to them before his departure.

Those simple instructions became the purpose of their lives for the next two decades.

When Ren ascended the throne, they did everything within their power to help him stabilize his rule. Whether it involved suppressing unrest, deterring powerful enemies, or protecting the dignity of the Imperial Family, the two of them never hesitated.

They believed they were carrying out Boris’s final wish, and for that reason alone, they remained absolutely loyal to the Imperial Throne. More importantly, they never forgot Aditya.

To them, Aditya was not merely another prince of the Imperial Family. He was their master’s grandson. Protecting him had always been one of Boris’s greatest wishes, and they intended to honor that wish as best as they could.

Although they could not openly interfere in every political matter surrounding Aditya, they still did whatever was within their power to make life easier for Emperor Ren, believing that a stable Empire would ultimately benefit Boris’s grandson as well.

There were even times when they were forced to make decisions that conflicted with their own personal morals.

Not because they agreed with every decision being made, but because they believed preserving the stability of the Empire was the duty Boris had entrusted to them. Since their master left, they never once questioned that responsibility.

As the two men rushed toward Boris with excitement written all over their faces, Boris simply stood there with a warm smile, waiting for them to come closer. From a distance, it looked like the reunion of a father finally meeting the children he had not seen for decades.

Then he welcomed them in his own unique way.

Two fists shot forward almost simultaneously.

The next moment, Sora and Ritsu crashed face-first into the ground, creating two small craters before lying there completely motionless. Dust slowly rose into the air as the surrounding guards stared with blank expressions. They had just witnessed two legendary Seventh-Order cultivators get knocked down before they could even hug their master.

For several long seconds, neither of them moved. Finally, Sora lifted his head and turned toward Ritsu, . His face was completely covered in dirt, yet the first thing he noticed was not his own appearance but his younger brother’s.

"You have dirt on your cheek." After saying those words, he couldn’t hold it in anymore and began giggling.

Ritsu’s face instantly darkened. "Fuck you!"

Boris had been about to help the two stand back up, but the moment that curse entered his ears, his hand froze halfway. "In my absence, you two have started cursing."

A warm smile slowly spread across Boris’s face.

Unfortunately, that particular smile happened to be the one both disciples feared the most.

"Where did all my teachings go?"

As Boris casually cracked his knuckles, both Sora and Ritsu instinctively shivered. It was almost a conditioned response developed after centuries of

"Master, wait!" Sora immediately panicked. He pointed toward Ritsu without even taking a second to think. "It wasn’t me."

"It was Ritsu."

Ritsu’s eyes nearly popped out of their sockets.

"You shameless bastard!"

"You were cursing those poor soldiers because they made us wait outside the city!" Sora replied with complete confidence, exposing his younger brother without even the slightest hint of guilt.

"You sold me out in less than a second!"

"I’ve had decades of practice."

The surrounding guards could only watch the exchange in complete silence. Only moments ago, they had been standing respectfully before two of the Empire’s greatest powerhouses. Yet in front of their master, these legendary Seventh-Order cultivators were arguing like children trying to avoid punishment.

Hearing Sora shamelessly shift all the blame onto him, Ritsu’s right eyebrow immediately began twitching. He slowly turned his head toward his elder brother before casually cracking his knuckles.

It was a habit he had unconsciously picked up from Boris while growing up. Every single time their master cracked his knuckles with that harmless-looking smile, a painful "lesson" inevitably followed.

Over the centuries, both Sora and Ritsu had unknowingly copied countless little habits from the man who had raised them. Out of all those habits, this particular one had become Ritsu’s favorite whenever he was about to settle a score.

"It seems you’ve forgotten who the elder brother is." Sora proudly puffed out his chest as though he had just won an important political debate.

"I am the elder brother."

"Exactly." Ritsu replied with a dangerous smile that looked almost identical to Boris’s. "Which means you’ve forgotten how strong your younger brother has become."

Sora slowly narrowed his eyes before a grin appeared on his face.

"Oh?"

"It looks like it’s time for another lesson." The surrounding guards instinctively took several steps backward.

One of them even quietly whispered.

"Should... should we stop them?"

Another guard immediately shook his head. "Absolutely not."

"Why?"

"I value my life."

Meanwhile, Ritsu confidently stepped forward, rolling his shoulders as if preparing for an epic duel.

"Let’s all calm down and solve this peacefully."

"I am peaceful." Sora replied without changing his expression.

"You don’t look peaceful."

"I peacefully intend to beat you until you remember how to respect your elder brother."

Ritsu snorted.

"What a coincidence."

"I was just thinking of peacefully correcting your inflated ego."

The two brothers slowly approached each other while maintaining eye contact. Sparks practically seemed to fly between them as neither had any intention of backing down. To anyone unfamiliar with them, it looked as though two terrifying Seventh-Order cultivators were about to engage in a legendary battle capable of shaking the heavens.

Unfortunately, before Ritsu could even finish threatening him, Sora stepped forward.

Or at least, he intended to.

The next moment, he suddenly felt his feet leave the ground. Confused, Sora looked down and realized that he was hanging in midair. Only then did he slowly turn his head to look behind him.

Boris was standing there, calmly holding the back of Sora’s clothes with one hand as effortlessly as someone carrying a small kitten.

The moment Sora saw who was behind him, his cheerful expression instantly vanished. At the same time, he felt an overwhelming killing intent surrounding him. The pressure was so familiar that he recognized it immediately. Even after so many decades apart, there was no way he could forget the terrifying aura of the man who had raised him.

Cold sweat instantly formed on Sora’s forehead as only one thought crossed his mind.

Meanwhile, Ritsu looked at his suspended elder brother before bursting into uncontrollable laughter. "Hahahaha! Now talk, bitch!"

He pointed proudly at Sora. "Weren’t you acting tough just now?"

"Teach me a lesson."

"I’m waiting." Sora silently glared back.

Unfortunately for Ritsu, Boris slowly turned his head and looked at him. The moment their eyes met, Ritsu’s laughter disappeared. The smile on his face froze, and his expression instantly stiffened. Cold sweat began forming on his forehead as he awkwardly forced out a smile.

"Master..."

Before Ritsu could say anything else, Boris casually threw Sora aside. Sora rolled several times across the ground before finally coming to a stop beside his younger brother. The two brothers looked at each other before slowly turning their attention back to Boris. Neither of them said a word, but both understood the same thing.

Their master was truly angry.

The next few minutes were filled with the familiar lesson that both of them had experienced countless times while growing up. Boris did not hold back simply because they had become Seventh-Order cultivators.

To him, they were still the two mischievous disciples he had personally raised. Every time Sora tried to dodge, Boris caught him with another punch. Whenever Ritsu attempted to move away, Boris immediately shifted his attention toward him. Before long, the quiet night was filled with the sounds of repeated impacts and the brothers’ miserable cries.

The surrounding guards silently watched from a distance. None of them dared to interfere. Although they felt a little sympathetic toward the two National Treasures, everyone knew that this was a matter between a master and his disciples.

Several minutes later, Boris finally stopped.

Sora and Ritsu sat side by side on the ground, instinctively leaning against each other. Their faces were swollen, their noses were bleeding slightly, and even their clothes had several tears after the beating. They looked nothing like the powerful Seventh-Order cultivators who were respected throughout the Celestial Dragon Empire.

If any noble or even the Emperor himself saw them in this condition, they would probably be stunned. These two men were among the Thirteen National Treasures of the Empire, individuals whose names alone commanded respect wherever they went.

Yet in front of Boris, none of that status mattered. To him, they were still the same two troublesome disciples who occasionally needed a proper lesson.

Boris flexed his fingers a few times before letting out a disappointed sigh.

"I’ve gotten old." He looked down at his fists before lightly shaking them.

"My hands are already getting tired." The two brothers nearly burst into tears.

Boris looked at them again, his expression finally becoming serious.
