After enjoying a peaceful and delicious dinner that had been personally prepared by Yuna and Zahira, Aditya made his way toward the mansion’s library.

Since he had already decided that runes would play a major role in completing his new technique, he wanted to broaden his understanding instead of limiting himself to the knowledge he already possessed.

He selected several books that discussed various rune theories, fundamental principles, and different approaches to rune construction before carrying them back with him.

With the small stack of books in his arms, Aditya returned to his bedroom and pushed the door open.

The moment he noticed what she was wearing, he paused for a brief second. His breathing became slightly heavier as he silently admired her appearance.

The thought brought an amused smile to his face.

Of course, Aditya had no intention of pretending that he was unaffected. Sasha met her mother’s gaze without the slightest hint of hesitation. The possessive look in her eyes made her intentions unmistakably clear, and the confidence in that single word was enough to leave the room momentarily silent.

Lilith’s right eye twitched.

To her, Sasha had always been the beautiful, gentle, and obedient girl who rarely argued with anyone. Yet the woman standing before her now was openly challenging her, and doing so without the slightest trace of guilt.

"Sasha. Hand him over here." Lilith said in an authoritative tone.

Sasha did not look intimidated in the slightest.

Instead, she simply narrowed her eyes before tightening her hold around Aditya even further, making it abundantly clear that she had no intention of letting him go.

"No."

Her answer was calm, firm, and utterly resolute.

The single word carried far more determination than a lengthy argument ever could. As the two women continued staring at one another, neither showed the slightest intention of backing down, leaving Aditya caught directly between an unexpectedly fierce battle for his attention.

"How dare you go against your own mother?" Lilith pointed dramatically at Sasha as if she had just witnessed the greatest act of betrayal in history. Her eyes widened in exaggerated disbelief before she puffed out her cheeks in mock anger.

She raised one hand high into the air with all the grandeur of a legendary martial arts master.

With an imposing battle cry, Lilith swung her hand toward Sasha, looking every bit like a final boss unleashing her ultimate technique.

Sasha calmly raised one hand and effortlessly caught Lilith’s wrist before the attack could even land. She never loosened her hold on Aditya with her other arm, making the entire exchange look almost effortless.

The room instantly fell silent.

She looked at her captured wrist before slowly looking back at Sasha, clearly not expecting her own to be stopped so casually.

"Mom." Sasha said in a calm voice. "You always go first."

Her words carried no anger or resentment. She was simply stating a fact. "This time, I want to be with him first."

Lilith opened her mouth to argue but paused.

She wanted to deny it. But after thinking about it for a few seconds...She couldn’t. Sasha was right.

Ever since they had met Aditya, Lilith had almost always been the first to shamelessly steal his attention. Whether it was clinging to his arm, dragging him away, or finding some excuse to monopolize him, she had built quite an impressive record.

Meanwhile, Sasha had also gone more than fifteen days without spending any proper time with him. After waiting that long, she simply did not want to wait any longer.

"In addition..." Sasha continued without releasing Lilith’s wrist. "Big Sister Alicia and Big Sister Julia aren’t here."

Lilith suddenly had a bad feeling.

Only Aditya stood between the two women, watching the entire exchange unfold with an expression that practically said he had long since accepted that this was simply another normal day with his family.
