Dragon Monarch System Chapter 1098:- Beginning of Vengeance [II]
Previously on Dragon Monarch System...
"This time, my grandson really surprised both of us." He meant himself and Boris.
Malakor received a letter around 30 hours ago.
Boris, Malakor Harrington, Wahid’s two wives, Freya, Athena, Rin, and Commander Vardy were all secretly searching for Aditya. At the same time, they had to make sure that the news of Aditya’s sudden disappearance from the Harrington Family remained completely hidden from the outside world.
This was extremely important.
Not only did they need to keep the information away from their enemies, but they also had to prevent the Dukes and Duchesses who had chosen to support Aditya during the civil war from learning the truth. At such a sensitive time, even a small piece of bad news could create unnecessary problems.
If word spread that Aditya had suddenly vanished, panic could quickly spread throughout the noble circles. Many of the nobles who had sided with him had done so because they believed in his future and his ability to lead. Learning that he had disappeared without any explanation could shake their confidence and create instability within their alliance.
More importantly, they could not allow their enemies to discover this information. If Aditya’s enemies learned that he was no longer under the protection of the Harrington Family and managed to locate him before they did, the consequences could be disastrous. Given his current condition and the number of powerful enemies he had made, even a single mistake could place his life in grave danger.
Because of this, everyone involved kept the matter strictly confidential while secretly searching for him. Until Aditya was found and safely brought back, the Harrington Family could not afford to let anyone know that their most important ally had suddenly disappeared.
Then, Freya, Rin, and Athena also disappeared without informing anyone where they were going. Their sudden disappearance immediately caused concern among everyone who knew about the situation. Given Aditya’s disappearance and the tense situation surrounding the Harrington Family, the last thing anyone wanted was for three more important people to vanish as well. For a while, many feared that something unexpected had happened to them.
However, those worries did not last for long.
Late at night, under the cover of darkness, Freya quietly returned to Axel City carrying a letter from Aditya. The moment the letter reached Boris and Malakor Harrington, many of the concerns weighing on their hearts disappeared. In the letter, Aditya clearly explained what he wanted everyone to continue doing while he was away. He also left detailed instructions regarding the actions that Boris and Malakor Harrington needed to take when the right time arrived.
The letter did not reveal every detail of his plan. Instead, Aditya only provided a brief summary of what he intended to do to the Night Rider Sect. Even so, that short explanation was more than enough to leave both Boris and Malakor deeply impressed.
The two old men had lived for thousands of years. They had experienced wars, political struggles, betrayals, invasions, and countless schemes throughout their long lives. Very few things in this world could still surprise them. Yet after reading Aditya’s plan, both of them found themselves staring at the letter in silence.
The more they thought about it, the more shocked they became. Their grandson had managed to see things from a completely different angle. Instead of charging directly at his enemies, he had created a plan that targeted their weaknesses, manipulated their expectations, and turned their own confidence against them.
For the first time in a long while, both Boris and Malakor felt genuinely amazed. They had always known that Aditya was intelligent. However, they had not expected him to come up with something so bold and terrifying. The entire plan was carefully thought out and carried the potential to completely change the situation in a single move.
In their eyes, there was only one way to describe it.
To them, this just further solidifies why Aditya was worthy of becoming the Emperor. The Empire had no one better suited than him to be the Emperor. He had already proven himself to be more than capable of building an Empire and successfully managing it to almost utter perfection.
Malakor Harrington took out a sand clock.
"Time for the next phase of the plan."
Without wasting a second, he jumped onto the teleportation array that Aditya had designed for him. While the whole city was in utter chaos, Malakor Harrington calmly used the teleportation array to teleport to the territory of the Wind Dragon Clan.
As soon as the news reached the Night Rider Sect that the three cities closest to the sect were under attack, three Elders immediately used the teleportation array and rushed toward Kazeoka City. None of them wasted time discussing the situation or creating a detailed plan. The matter was simply too urgent. Every second they delayed could result in even greater losses.
Today was supposed to be one of the most important and prestigious days in the history of the Night Rider Sect. The Grand Ceremony was only hours away, and powerful guests from all over the region were already arriving. However, before the ceremony had even begun, three cities under the sect’s control had already been heavily damaged and burned.
This was not merely an attack on a few cities. This was an attack on the reputation of the Night Rider Sect itself.
If another city suffered the same fate, or if they failed to stop whoever was responsible, then the sect would become a laughingstock. The incident would leave a permanent stain on the ceremony and on Victor’s ascension as the new Sect Leader. For a powerful cultivation sect that valued prestige and authority, such humiliation was almost unbearable.
What made the situation even worse was the number of distinguished guests who were expected to attend the ceremony. Hundreds of powerful cultivators, influential leaders, clan heads, and respected experts would inevitably learn about the attacks. News of three cities being assaulted was already bad enough. However, if those same people learned that the Night Rider Sect had failed to identify, capture, or kill the person responsible, the embarrassment would become even greater.
At the very least, the sect needed results.
Even if the damage could not be undone, capturing the culprit or killing them would allow the Night Rider Sect to save some face. It would show everyone that the sect was still capable of protecting its territory and punishing those who dared challenge its authority. That alone was enough reason for the three Elders to move immediately without wasting a single moment.
The moment the three Elders stepped out of the teleportation array in Kazeoka City, they were immediately greeted by Wind Dragon Clan Leader Ramos. Everything had happened so quickly that none of them found anything unusual about his presence. Their minds were focused entirely on the emergency unfolding before them.
In their rush, none of the Elders stopped to question how Ramos had arrived at the teleportation array at the exact moment they appeared. Nor did they think about how he knew which teleportation array they would use to enter the city.
Under normal circumstances, such details might have raised suspicion. However, with multiple cities under attack and the Grand Ceremony only hours away, none of them paid attention to these small inconsistencies.
The first thing they noticed was Ramos himself. He looked absolutely miserable.
His clothes were torn in several places. Dust and dirt covered parts of his face, hair, and body. There were even traces of blood on him.
His expression was filled with panic, anxiety, and grief, making him appear like someone who had just survived a terrible disaster. The sight was convincing enough that the three Elders immediately focused their attention on him.
At the same time, they noticed flames burning in the distance.
From where they stood, it looked as though parts of the city had already been engulfed by the attack. Thick smoke rose into the sky while orange flames illuminated sections of the city walls. The scene appeared chaotic and urgent, further reinforcing the belief that they had arrived in the middle of a crisis.
What the Elders did not know was that those flames were not actually the result of the explosions. They had been deliberately created as part of the trap.
Several fires had been started near the inner sections of the city walls shortly before the Elders arrived.
Their purpose was simple: to create the illusion of widespread destruction and draw the Elders’ attention away from anything suspicious. Combined with Ramos’ appearance and the urgency of the situation, the burning flames helped create a perfect distraction and ensured that the three Elders would lower their guard without realising it.
"Ramos?" Seeing the Elders, Ramos broke down.
"It was them." He spoke in a trembling tone.
"They slaughtered my entire clan, Elders. My children, my family, my entire bloodline; everyone killed, and I could not do anything to stop that monster."
"I was too weak and powerless." Hearing all these, the expressions on the faces of the elders became complicated.
