Dragon Monarch System Chapter 1087:- Arriving in Enemy’s Territory
Previously on Dragon Monarch System...
After the recruitment was completed, Aditya wasted no time. On that very same day, he led his newly recruited subordinates toward the territory controlled by the Night Rider Sect.
At the moment, the group had arrived in a city known as Bluestar City. It was a massive city with a population of nearly three million people. The city was located extremely close to the Night Rider Sect, with only nine kilometres separating the two. In fact, from the northern walls of Bluestar City, ordinary people could clearly see the outer edges of the mountains where the cultivation sect was situated.
Bluestar City was also considered part of the Night Rider Sect’s territory. However, unlike the sect itself, the city was open to outsiders. Merchants, travellers, cultivators, and ordinary people from different regions regularly came here to conduct business, trade resources, or simply spend a few days in the bustling city.
The situation was completely different when it came to the sect’s main territory. The mountain region where the Night Rider Sect was located was strictly off-limits to outsiders. Only official members of the sect were permitted to enter. Anyone else who attempted to enter without permission would be treated as an intruder.
Because of this close proximity, it was very common to see disciples of the Night Rider Sect within Bluestar City. Every day, students and elders descended from the mountains to visit the city. Some came to purchase cultivation resources, while others came to enjoy the entertainment, restaurants, markets, and various services that the city had to offer. Over time, Bluestar City had become deeply connected to the Night Rider Sect and greatly prospered because of its presence.
"My Lord, I have found a decent Inn for us to stay." Said Anya.
Aditya nodded his head.
He and the rest remained roaming within the city. His subordinates did not understand the purpose of this. Aditya did this because he wanted to learn more about the city. He had already planned what he was going to do next. But his plan required a basic understanding of the Blue Star City.
It would be even better if he could enter the Sect and take a look around. But he knew that was just impossible. Even if others could enter, he won’t be able to enter because of his sensitive identity. It would be too risky.
At the moment, Aditya was disguising his appearance with the help of makeup and a wig. The bandages that had previously covered his arms had long since been removed. Thanks to the treatment he had received, his injuries were no longer as noticeable as before.
He wore a pair of long, loose-fitting pants that concealed his missing leg. Since he was travelling inside a carriage, it became even more difficult for anyone to notice his condition. In any case, Aditya doubted that anyone in this region would recognise him. While rumours about the exiled Crown Prince returning to challenge his cousin had already spread across many parts of the Main Continent, very few people actually knew what he looked like.
"Take me there."
The moment those words left his mouth, Kael adjusted the direction of the carriage and began following the route that Anya provided. The carriage smoothly turned onto a different road and continued toward their destination.
Before entering Bluestar City, the group had passed through a small town. There, Aditya gave everyone a few hours to rest and enough money to purchase new clothes and improve their appearances. Many of them had spent centuries trapped in that prison-like place, and their appearances reflected it.
The break also gave everyone an opportunity to thoroughly clean themselves. Most of them rented private rooms and took long showers, washing away years of accumulated dirt and grime. By the time they regrouped and continued their journey, everyone looked far more presentable than before. Although they still carried the aura of experienced cultivators, they no longer looked like a group of people who had just escaped from a centuries-old prison.
He did not want his subordinates to look like beggars while they entered the city. Their appearance needed to be spotless to better blend with the crowd. He also specifically asked them to suppress their Aura so that no one could guess what kind of strength this group had. If multiple 7th-order cultivators followed by several Peak 6th-order cultivators suddenly entered the city, this itself would raise suspicion, and the Sect would be immediately notified. This would spoil his plan.
Right now, it was important for them to stay low, gather information and wait for that perfect opportunity to strike. Aditya was extremely desperate for revenge, but he did not let that desperation consume his rationality. He wanted to make sure that when he attacked the Sect, everything went flawlessly without giving the sect a moment to respond.
The whole group reached the inn, and Aditya had Anya park the carriage. After that group entered the Inn and booked several rooms, all on the second floor, and all rooms were next to each other)
But everyone gathered in his room under his orders.
"I need everyone to go out and gather useful information." Boris had managed to kill the previous Sect Leader, Sophia. After her, the strongest person in the entire cultivation Sect was Victor. So it was obvious that he would end up as the new Sect Leader.
’This also makes me wonder what kind of excuse he gave to the rest of the ends and the rest of the sect about Sophia’s death.’ Not that it mattered to him.
Two days from now, the Night Rider Sect would hold a grand ceremony during which Victor would officially be given the title of Sect Leader. Aditya had no doubt that such an important event would attract many powerful allies and influential figures associated with the sect. Various powerhouses from different regions would likely arrive to congratulate Victor and strengthen their ties with the Night Rider Sect.
However, Aditya had no intention of waiting for that to happen.
The arrival of those powerhouses would only complicate the situation and potentially interfere with his plans. The more powerful individuals gathered within the sect, the more difficult it would become to achieve his objective. Rather than facing the Night Rider Sect at its strongest, Aditya preferred to strike before its allies had a chance to arrive.
He intended to take advantage of the current situation. With the entire sect busy preparing for the upcoming ceremony, their attention would be divided. Security would be focused on the event, resources would be allocated toward preparations, and many people would be distracted by the celebrations. This presented a perfect opportunity.
Over the next two days, Aditya planned to gather as much information as possible about the Night Rider Sect, its defences, its key figures, and Victor himself. Then, just before the ceremony began, when everyone was focused on welcoming their new Sect Leader, he would launch his attack.
"Understood!"
"Anya, you stay here and gather information about this city. The rest of you will spread out and visit the nearby cities. I want all of you to gather as much information as possible and report back to me before tomorrow night."
Aditya looked at everyone before continuing. "I need detailed information about the military strength of every city controlled by the Night Rider Sect. Find out the number of guards stationed in each city, the size of their military forces, and the cultivation levels of their strongest commanders. I also want to know how many experts from the Night Rider Sect are currently staying in those cities."
"Pay close attention to their daily routines. Find out when the guards change shifts, how often patrols move through the streets, and what routes they normally take. I want information about their defensive formations, emergency response plans, communication methods, alarm systems, and reinforcement procedures. If a city comes under attack, I want to know how long it would take for reinforcements from the sect to arrive."
"I also need information about the city layouts. Mark the locations of military barracks, armouries, treasury buildings, warehouses, prisons, teleportation arrays, formation cores, and any important government buildings. Find out where their supplies are stored and identify any weaknesses in their defences."
Aditya then pointed toward the distant mountains where the Night Rider Sect was located, which could be seen from the window of his room. "Most importantly, gather information about the sect itself. I want to know how many disciples are currently inside the sect, how many elders remain there, which important figures are attending the upcoming ceremony, and which powerhouses have already arrived. Any information regarding Victor, the Sect Master’s residence, the sect treasury, defensive formations, or secret passages is extremely valuable."
Finally, he looked around at everyone. "Do not take unnecessary risks. If gathering a piece of information would expose your identity, then leave immediately. Your lives are worth more than any report. Gather whatever information you can, stay hidden, and return safely. Once we have enough information, we will decide our next move."
