Dragon Monarch System Chapter 1063:- Uncle Wahid
Previously on Dragon Monarch System...
"What were you doing?" Rin inquired, subtly shifting to make room for him beside her.
"I was out for a bit, doing some personal training," he replied.
"Is this some sort of exclusive gathering for the ladies?" he teased with a grin.
"Not precisely. It was more of a reunion for old friends, a chance to deepen our understanding of one another," Rin explained.
"Up until now, I haven't had the opportunity to meet any of the other goddesses, unlike all of you," Freya admitted. She had always harbored a desire to meet the other Goddesses. Prior to encountering Rin and the others, she had been privy to numerous rumors from her subordinates. These accounts predominantly portrayed the other Goddesses as exceedingly proud individuals with immense egos and haughty dispositions. Consequently, Freya had inadvertently cultivated a specific perception of them in her mind.
However, upon finally meeting them in person, she swiftly discerned that those rumors were entirely unfounded.
Each Goddess she encountered was remarkably humble and grounded. While each undeniably took immense pride in their divine roles and the respect accorded to them as Goddesses, this pride did not eclipse their personalities or foster arrogance. Their confidence emanated organically from their accomplishments and inherent strength, rather than from a disposition of looking down upon others. Judging by Rin's discourse about everyone, Freya could readily ascertain that they were all warm, modest, and amiable companions, irrespective of their exalted status.
Had the Goddesses truly possessed colossal egos and arrogant temperaments, harmonious coexistence among them would have been an impossibility. It strains credulity to imagine one Goddess calmly acquiescing to Aditya having another Goddess, or indeed any other woman, as his wife. Such a scenario would inevitably have precipitated endless disputes, rampant jealousy, and concealed resentments. Yet, from all that Freya had gathered today, the reality diverged completely. The women spoke of each other with the fondness and familiarity one might expect of sisters from the same mother; their affection, trust, and profound connection were palpably genuine and beyond pretense.
"Perhaps next time, you could accompany us to the capital of the Istarin Empire," Rin suggested.
"You could meet everyone, all the Goddesses, and personally witness all that you wish to see across the six continents," she added.
"That sounds truly wonderful," Freya responded. Since Aditya had extended an invitation, she felt it only fitting to reciprocate.
"Once all of this concludes, allow me to host you all in my empire. The capital is situated in one of the most breathtaking locales you will ever encounter on the main continent." The city's sheer beauty had cemented its status as a premier destination, drawing visitors from across the entire continent eager to immerse themselves in its natural splendor for a day or two of relaxation with loved ones.
"After I emerge victorious from the Civil War, let us all journey there," Aditya declared, implying a collective excursion.
Aditya envisioned bringing his entire family to the celestial dragon empire for a brief sojourn once he assumed the mantle of emperor. Even at this juncture, Aditya remained uncertain regarding his preferred long-term residence.
On one hand, the Azure City and the Dragon Palace were his ancestral home, and the prospect of relocating to the main continent filled him with significant reluctance. Conversely, to effectively manage the organization and fulfill his duties as emperor, extended stays on the main continent were an unavoidable necessity.
In contrast to the Istarin Empire, the celestial dragon empire would welcome a new emperor. As the incoming leader, Aditya's inaugural responsibility would be to rectify the considerable disarray bequeathed by his cousin. This undertaking was of a magnitude that could not possibly be resolved within a handful of days or even weeks.
At a minimum, Aditya anticipated needing several months for this crucial task.
Given these circumstances, it would be most prudent to relocate his entire family, including the Dragon Palace, to the celestial dragon empire.
This strategic move was predicated on the understanding that upon his ascension as emperor of the celestial dragon empire, the system would officially recognize this realm as a dominion under the Dragon Monarch.
The Dragon Palace possessed a unique capability: it could teleport to any location situated within the Dragon Monarch's domain. Aditya remained uncertain, however, whether this teleportation function could overcome the invisible barrier separating the six continents from the main continents and successfully relocate to the celestial dragon empire.
"Aditya, I wish to spar with you," Freya exclaimed with evident excitement. This sudden shift in her demeanor and the palpable eagerness in her eyes caught him somewhat by surprise.
"Had I known you were keen on a sparring session, I would have refrained from training solo," he mused. Engaging an opponent in combat could have potentially accelerated his progress far beyond what he achieved through solitary practice.
"Regrettably, I've expended the majority of my Mana during my training. If you desire a match, you shall have to wait," he explained.
Upon hearing this, Freya let out a sigh. A sense of mild disappointment washed over her. The prospect of fighting him had filled her with considerable anticipation, but alas, it would have to be postponed.
Some time later, the assembled group reconvened in the living room.
"It is truly a pleasure to meet you. I must confess, I have long desired this encounter."
He had never had the opportunity to meet Aditya in person. When Aditya was still within his mother's womb, he had already entered a period of seclusion for his cultivation. This seclusion spanned eleven and a half years, during which he dedicated himself entirely to his advancement, eventually reaching the mid-7th-order. Throughout this time, he permitted no one to disturb him. No visitors, no messages, and no matters from the outside world were allowed to reach him. Regardless of any changes that transpired in the world beyond, he remained utterly isolated.
By the time he finally emerged from his seclusion, everything had transformed. Shortly thereafter, he assumed the mantle of Duke of the Harrington family, which occupied his time even further, leaving him with scant opportunity to reflect on what he had missed. From the very outset, there was never a suitable moment for him to engage with Aditya face-to-face.
Yet, even without personal meetings, a connection persisted between them. Aditya bore the blood of their family within his veins, and that alone was sufficient. For him, this bond was not something that required time or interaction to flourish. It was inherent. It was enough for him to feel a profound concern for Aditya and to harbor genuine affection for him.
Wahid held the position of the current patriarch of the Harrington family. As Aditya's grandfather had no other offspring apart from Aditya's mother, Wahid, the son of Malakor's brother, became the family head and also assumed the ducal title.
"So, when do you plan to hold your wedding ceremony?" Wahid inquired in a relaxed tone.
Aditya offered a smile. "Uncle Wahid, once I have eradicated every single member of that organization. Once I have ensured that no significant threats remain to my family and myself, I shall not delay even a month before marrying them."
"And what about you ladies? Do you concur with his decision?" He sought the opinions of the women present.
He himself had two wives. The first was his betrothed, a Dragon, whose marriage had been arranged when he was merely ten years old as part of a long-standing pact. The second was a human cultivator whom he encountered later during his travels, and over time, that meeting blossomed into a bond strong enough to culminate in marriage.
Athena glanced at Laura and Rin before smiling. "We have no objections. In fact, Aditya discussed this matter with us some time ago."
"We also believe that the most auspicious time for our marriage is after we have eliminated all major threats," Athena added.
"We desire to commence our marital life in peace," Rin contributed.
"That is wonderful news!" Wahid expressed genuine delight for his nephew.
"Please take good care of my nephew. He has endured a great deal at such a tender age." Wahid's expression turned somewhat somber as he conveyed this to the women. He felt a pang of guilt for not having been able to support Aditya during his most challenging period.
He could only conjecture the hardships that a 15-year-old Aditya must have faced upon abruptly losing his status as Crown Prince and being irrevocably exiled from the celestial Dragon Empire, as well as the main continent.
"Hehe! Of course. That goes without saying," Rin responded with a smile.
Athena and Laura nodded in agreement, their faces lit by smiles.
"How many future wives will my dear nephew acquire?" Wahid inquired with a playful smirk.
"Well, currently, there are eight of us," Athena replied, casting a glance at the goddess of war, who had been listening in silence.
Freya met Athena's gaze briefly before looking away.
’Am I mistaken, or did she just blush slightly?’ Laura communicated to Athena via their mental link.
’Hehe! It appears our ninth sister will be joining us quite soon.’
"That is a considerable number." Wahid was visibly taken aback. Even maintaining a harmonious and balanced relationship with his own two wives presented difficulties for him. There were instances where minor issues escalated into conflicts, and he often found himself striving to appease both parties without fostering any misunderstandings.
