Dragon Monarch System Chapter 1034 1034:- Who Dares
Previously on Dragon Monarch System...
"No prior Emperor has accomplished what His Majesty inflicted upon this Emperor." He cast his gaze toward the Baron and Viscount, then scanned the rest of the assembly.
"He has effectively split the nobles throughout this Empire. These days, our competing Empires no longer view us with any respect."
"Duke Ferdinand, slandering His Majesty in this manner simply because he assumed control of the Spirit Stone Mine within your lands is unacceptable." At that instant, a figure with flowing blond hair stepped into the hall.
He served as one of the Elders from the Night Rider Sect. Positioned to the west of the Celestial Dragon Empire, the Night Rider Sect enjoyed a strong alliance with the Empire. Thus, their dispatch of a representative today came as no surprise.
Ferdinand's face twisted upon catching the Elder's words, his earlier poise evaporating completely.
"Are you claiming that was proper? Where lies the justice there? Not even the Emperor can abruptly seize assets from my domain without due process or a legitimate cause."
Victor, in response, simply chuckled with delight.
"The Emperor possesses and governs the whole Empire. Nobles like you merely steward his territories in his name. Should he desire, he may reclaim whatever he bestowed upon you, leaving you powerless to resist."
Upon hearing those words, Ferdinand wasn't alone—every noble's expression shifted dramatically.
Victor's statement carried an unwelcome truth, yet its candid utterance by an outsider amplified the sting. It landed like a resounding slap across their cheeks before the entire gathering.
Suppressing the shame proved challenging, intensifying the chamber's tension for a brief spell.
"Victor, quit addressing the hounds on the doomed vessel." The "sinking ship" denoted the faction opposing the Emperor, with these nobles as its faithful curs.
Not a single person in attendance lacked wits. That lone phrase provoked outrage among all the Emperor's adversaries.
Victor, Ferdinand, Cassian, and everyone else turned toward the doorway, beholding the Night Rider Sect Leader stride in, trailed by another Elder.
She ranked among the Main Continent's most breathtaking women, her allure deemed equal to that of the Seven Goddesses. However, her temperament stayed utterly frigid and shrewd.
Sophia Isabelle Martinez was her name.
As Sect Leader and a key founder of the Night Rider Sect, Sophia inspired widespread reverence and dread across the Main Continent. Scarcely anyone remained ignorant of her identity.
The instant she crossed the threshold, the hall's temperature plummeted sharply for all present.
With each stride, delicate snowflakes drifted from her form to the ground, vanishing upon contact.
Standing at 2 meters, or 6.5 feet tall, she possessed striking ice-blue hair arranged in an elegant braided bun, held by a pale purple hairstick adorned with a dark purple snowflake pattern on one side.
A pristine white modest kimono draped her figure, emblematic of her purity. Though she had endured over 15,000 years, the Sect Leader remained untouched, a virgin who shunned all men for the last millennium.
Even beneath the flowing white kimono, her alluring curves remained evident. Her ample, rounded breasts commanded attention toward her bosom, breeding jealousy among noble ladies. Her slender waist and seductive back could ignite wicked desires in any man.
Sophia recognized this vulnerability, hence her habit of veiling her face with a translucent shroud. Though it seemed sheer, no one could pierce it to glimpse her true visage.
No sooner had she entered than the nobles erupted into hushed murmurs.
"The Northern Ice Monarch has arrived." The masses had bestowed this title upon her prior to her ascension as Sect Leader. She had been among the youngest Elders and a founding pillar of the Night Rider Sect.
Upon the original Sect Leader's demise, Sophia rose to helm the Sect. Her "Northern Ice Monarch" epithet then became irrevocably etched.
"What brings her here?" Attendance from the leader of a premier Main Continent Sect would suit royal affairs or vital imperial concerns, evoking no shock.
Yet this occasion marked merely a noble's funeral—even if said noble held the rank of Empire General.
Were a Night Rider Sect Elder to perish, the Emperor wouldn't deign to attend. The parallel held true now. The Sect Leader's stature mirrored that of an Emperor.
Ordinarily, such a minor event wouldn't draw her personal presence. One of her lofty influence and rank held zero cause to grace this assembly.
That was precisely the reason why all those present felt stunned and baffled at the appearance of the Northern Ice Monarch.
"Isn't it obvious?"
"She's not here for the funeral. She came to check if the rumors hold any truth." This issue was something the neighbors of the Celestial Dragon Empire couldn't ignore. This civil war would impact every one of them, whether they wished to involve themselves or not.
"Furthermore, the Sect Leader maintains a close friendship with the current Emperor." Everyone inside this hall knew this well. All the nobles understood that the Emperor and the Sect Leader had been acquainted for centuries with a strong bond. They weren't intimate enough to be true friends, yet they were no strangers.
Their political beliefs matched perfectly. That's why they offered each other substantial support.
As the Northern Ice Monarch passed Duke Ferdinand, she halted briefly and spoke without turning to him.
"If Aditya Bainnith dares to return, I will personally chop him to pieces and feed his remains to the dogs that roam outside of my Sect."
She then resumed her stride toward Duke Cassian.
However, her words, delivered in a casual tone, ignited a tremendous stir among the nobles. Certain nobles who had been contemplating alliance with Aditya against the reigning Emperor now began to rethink their choices.
Numerous nobles exchanged glances filled with doubt.
Duke Ferdinand betrayed no emotion, only curling his lips into a smirk.
He turned to the Baron and Viscount he had addressed moments before. "It seems the dogs and bitches that used to bark and wag their tails excitedly around the Royal Family have finally grown some balls."
"We haven't forgotten certain people who used to act like the Royal Family's bitch."
These remarks were uttered calmly, and the Frost Ice Monarch overheard them. Victor was the first to respond, his face contorting as though he'd been compelled to swallow filth.
Yet Sophia took the greatest offense to these words. She had no intention of tolerating a mere Duke branding her a bitch.
Sophia came to a stop and whirled around with icy demeanor. Her cold stare locked onto Duke Ferdinand.
Sophia burned with an instant desire to slay this man, but before she could make a move.
"This is a funeral. I expect everyone here to show some decorum and refrain from stirring trouble." Cassian addressed the assembly without turning around. Clearly, his warning targeted Sophia.
Upon hearing this, Sophia restrained herself.
Should she slay Ferdinand in fury, it would tarnish her standing irreparably. She'd be branded the woman unable to endure a few barbs from a lowly noble, sparking disorder at a funeral. Still, that didn't mean she'd let him off easily.
She had already devised schemes for him after the funeral concluded.
"It seems I will be killing not only one dog, but two dogs." She was unmistakably labeling Aditya a dog.
To all those gathered, this declaration was utterly mad. Referring to a Royal Family member as a dog—even one exiled and stripped of official status—crossed a boundary none dared breach.
Officially, Aditya held no royal title anymore. That was factual.
Reality painted a different picture, however.
Royal blood still coursed through his veins.
By uttering those words, Sophia didn't merely insult him; she outright defied that sacred lineage.
"Did someone call my grandson a dog?"
Booooooom!!!!!!
The aura of a Peak 7th-order cultivator exploded outward, enveloping all. This individual's killing intent pressed so intensely that the servants collapsed unconscious on the spot. They couldn't withstand the oppressive weight of it.
All heads swiveled toward the entrance.
There stood a small entourage, headed by an elderly man leaning on a wooden cane. His icy gaze fixed solely on Sophia.
Even Sophia's face shifted at his sight. Flecks of dread flickered in those frigid eyes. If any unpredictable force existed across this entire Empire, it was this old man.
'Why is he here?' Sophia wondered silently.
