Dragon Monarch System Chapter 1005:- Ancient Being
Previously on Dragon Monarch System...
Woken from captivity of unknown duration by the very individual responsible, an ancient entity stirred to life.
Having opened his eyes after countless ages, the ancient being saw nothing but utter darkness at first. Mere seconds passed before his sight adapted to the shadows, revealing a man's form standing no more than 10 meters distant.
The scent emanating from this human matched that of the one who had imprisoned him long ago.
The captive Dragon unleashed a deafening roar that echoed through the entire cave where he was confined.
"Damn you! Once I break free from this prison, I will rip you apart." In response, the human named Leo simply smirked.
"Unfortunately, your wish will forever remain unfulfilled," Leo declared with arrogant confidence.
This ancient dragon had been among the mightiest on the main continent some 10,000 years prior.
At that time, the dragon had already existed for over 2500 years. As his age advanced, so did his craving for treasures. He dreamed of forging his own empire and claiming the throne of an Emperor, basking in the same reverence and authority as rulers of grand Empires.
Emperorship promised boundless riches. His ambition drew inspiration from the Celestial Dragon Empire, fueling envy toward the Celestial Dragon Emperor. He believed a being of his power merited identical honors.
During his bid to establish an empire on the main continent, he amassed numerous foes. Forced to retreat, he sought refuge in the northern reaches, concealed within a secluded mountain.
Regrettably for the ancient dragon, organisation scouts led Leo to his secret lair.
Leo held no personal grudge against this ancient dragon. Across his million years on the main continent, he seldom meddled in events. Politics, wars, and disputes rarely drew his involvement—only if they advanced the Organisation's goals. He never wielded the organisation for selfish ends, maintaining a low profile and an unremarkable existence in the Celestial Dragon Empire.
Yet prior to the ancient dragon's chaos that provoked sects and Empires to hunt him, an organisation member devised a method to dominate dragons.
Upon pinpointing the dragon's hideout, Leo deemed him ideal for experimentation.
Though formidable, the ancient dragon paled before a being of over 1 million years, armed with vast artifacts of power—subduing him proved effortless.
In a swift ambush, the ancient dragon fell in under 180 seconds and slipped into slumber. That marked his final memory before endless sleep.
Whatever Leo or the organisation did with his form afterward remained a mystery to him.
"I roused you after nearly 10,000 years for a mission I require you to fulfill."
One organisation member had sculpted this entire mountain, along with the secret cave, to conceal the ancient dragon and thwart any escape.
Even another 20,000 years in captivity offered no hope of self-awakening or breaking free.
Muttering to himself, Leo pondered the precise span since capturing and entombing the dragon here. "To be exact, I'd say 9586 years. Perhaps 87 or 88 more. But really, does it matter?" He chuckled at the thought. For cultivators spanning thousands or even hundreds of years, time's passage held little weight.
"Fuck you! I want to kill you." The ancient dragon's fury intensified at the human's words. Instantly, he strained to shift, only to discover an unseen force pinning him immobile—not even an inch of movement possible.
"What have you done to me?" the ancient entity bellowed.
"That's precisely why it's your prison."
Simultaneously, the ancient dragon realized with dread that he couldn't circulate Mana; his powers lay dormant. Even his raw physical might felt curtailed.
Leo dismissed the dragon's outbursts entirely.
"Listen, we've obtained a few drops of divine dragon blood." This came from Rin, extracted by her captors and passed to the organisation.
"After much effort, we've forged a weapon capable of slaying the Dragon Monarch."
"Who the fuck is the Dragon Monarch? And why the fuck should I follow your commands!" Leo merely smiled, offering no reply.
"Your mission isn't to battle the Dragon Monarch directly, but to assault his empire. Probe its defenses thoroughly while wreaking maximum havoc."
"After striking the empire, the Dragon Monarch will rush to protect it. Then, deploy the weapon I've provided to end him."
With a snap of his fingers, Leo stripped the ancient dragon of all senses, reason, and will. Transformed into a soulless puppet, it obeyed Leo without question.
"Now, my faithful Ancient Dragon, trail the man waiting outside the cave. He'll escort you safely to the Six Continents and brief you en route."
"Stay compliant! Avoid trouble, and above all, deliver a spectacular performance for my amusement." The colossal dragon head nodded blankly.
"Now then...!!!"
The mountain crumbled entirely. A black-hooded man observed silently as Leo emerged unscathed, ancient Dragon in tow, halting before him.
"Record every moment for me." The man assented with a nod.
"I thought you would come with me."
Leo shook his head with a sigh. "The end draws near. Preparations are essential."
"Moreover, Aditya isn't the Organisation's sole foe."
"You mean the Goddess of War?"
"Yes! She's the gravest threat. Others lurk as well."
"Earlier, I passed a list to a former core member. Sadly, Aditya slew him. Now I must handle it personally or dispatch a substitute."
’That list likely rests in his possession by now.’ Thus, eliminating those targets swiftly before Aditya's arrival on the Main Continent was crucial.
Aetheria City, once a key hub of the Radiant Empire, now belonged to the Istarin Empire. Yet it fell short of true major status among Istarin cities, lagging in scale, populace, and commerce.
Over two months on, progress bloomed toward prosperity.
For Aetheria's residents, dawn broke peacefully as usual. Spirits soared amid recent uplifting developments.
Wall guards lounged idly in the shade, gazing bored at distant fields. Some dozed; others gambled with cards.
A earth-shaking roar jolted the city. Its volume made the walls tremble faintly.
"What’s happening?"
"Look!!!"
A tiny black speck hurtled toward them swiftly.
As it neared, its form sharpened into view.
"Is that a wyvern?"
"No, fool! That's a black Dragon!!!"
"Did the capital dispatch it?" The troops assumed the black Dragon came from higher command, oblivious to the Emperor's plans as mere foot soldiers.
Relaxing their vigilance, deeming it friendly, the guards watched—until the Black Dragon gaped wide and unleashed a massive surge of Golden Flames upon them.
