Xu Nian escorted the Lei Family Ancestor to the Qin Family, fulfilling his promise to take Qin Xue to the sect trials. While traveling to central Qing State, Xu Nian achieved an epiphany and mastered a powerful new sword technique, "Ten Thousand Miles Cloudless." Their journey was interrupted by a group of young cultivators from an unknown sect.

Xu Nian observed the haughty individuals before him, a subtle smile gracing his lips.

Qin Xue’s brow furrowed, evidently displeased by the demeanor of those in front of them.

Yet, recalling Xu Nian’s formidable might and the presence of the Lei Family Ancestor, a Divine-level expert, Qin Xue’s unease subsided.

The Lei Family Ancestor, meanwhile, did not spare even a fleeting glance at the group.

"I truly do not know who you are," Xu Nian declared with a smile.

He spoke the unvarnished truth; his time in the Underworld spanned less than ten days.

Naturally, he was unacquainted with the various factions operating within this realm.

However, his statement was perceived as highly provocative by those overhearing it.

"I suspect you are tired of living, to dare disregard the Chaoyang Sect," one of the youths scoffed icily.

"Precisely, our Chaoyang Sect stands as one of the Qing State’s three paramount forces. How could you be unaware? You clearly hold us in contempt," another young man, marked by a dark mole on his face, chimed in.

Chaoyang Sect?

Qin Xue’s complexion shifted.

It was evident she had not anticipated these individuals belonging to the Chaoyang Sect.

Upon reflection, it seemed plausible; this region appeared to fall under the Chaoyang Sect’s dominion.

Xu Nian displayed a hint of curiosity.

"Is the Chaoyang Sect truly among the Qing State’s top three powers?" Xu Nian inquired of Qin Xue.

"Indeed, our Qin Family Sect, alongside the Chaoyang Sect and the Moyang Sword Academy, comprise the three major powers of the Qing State. The Chaoyang Sect’s strength surpasses our Qin family’s, but the Moyang Sword Academy reigns supreme," Qin Xue responded to Xu Nian.

Xu Nian’s understanding solidified.

The Chaoyang Sect was, in fact, the second-ranked power in Qing State. It was no wonder they exhibited such arrogance.

"So, you are disciples of the Chaoyang Sect. What brings you to these parts?" Xu Nian asked, a smile playing on his lips.

He had no desire for conflict with these individuals.

After all, he bore no ill will towards them.

"Hmph, we are in pursuit of a wounded Nether Beast. Have you encountered it?" the leading man demanded.

"I have not," Xu Nian replied.

The assembled individuals simultaneously knitted their brows, fixing Xu Nian and his companions with sharp, suspicious glares.

"Hmph, he lies. He undoubtedly captured the Nether Beast we were tracking," the young man with the dark mole asserted hastily.

"I concur. Otherwise, where could a wounded Nether Beast have vanished to?" another female disciple, adorned with a hairpin, added her agreement.

"You are leveling baseless accusations. Why would we pilfer your Nether Beast?" Qin Xue immediately retorted, her voice laced with anger.

They had not even glimpsed a Nether Beast; moreover, given the formidable cultivation base of Xu Nian and the Lei Family Ancestor, such a creature would scarcely warrant their attention.

"Hmph, it is a Nether Fragrance Deer. Do not tell me you would not be tempted," the young man with the dark mole stated coldly.

"Nether Fragrance Deer?" Qin Xue gasped in astonishment.

Even the Lei Family Ancestor, who had remained impassive until now, betrayed a flicker of surprise.

"What exactly is a Nether Fragrance Deer?" Xu Nian inquired, a look of puzzlement on his face.

"The Nether Fragrance Deer is an exceptionally rare Nether Beast found within the Underworld. While its cultivation level is not high, its value is incalculable. Not only common Immortal-level experts but even Divine-level experts would find themselves tempted upon its sighting," the voice belonged to Xu Nian’s Artifact Spirit, Shi Shanshan, speaking directly into his mind.

Xu Nian’s surprise deepened.

Even Divine-level experts were enticed; could such a diminutive Nether Beast possess such allure?

"You may not comprehend its true worth; the Nether Fragrance Deer, though not powerful, possesses a unique ability to pinpoint treasures. Wherever it appears, treasures manifest, and these are no ordinary riches. Therefore, it is regarded as a living treasure map within the Underworld," Shi Shanshan elaborated further.

Xu Nian’s comprehension was complete.

The Nether Fragrance Deer indeed served such a purpose.

It was no wonder the disciples appeared so agitated.

And it was no wonder the Divine-level expert, the Lei Family Ancestor, was visibly moved.

Capturing such a Nether Beast was akin to possessing a treasure trove.

"Hmph, you still refuse to confess to capturing the Nether Fragrance Deer? We wounded it, and it vanished here; are you still maintaining you did not seize it?" the young man with the dark mole pressed insistently.

"Indeed, you must have captured it. To prove your innocence, relinquish your storage magical treasure for our examination," the female disciple promptly proposed.

"Aye, hand over the storage magical treasure," the other disciples chorused in agreement.

A discernible trace of displeasure flickered in Xu Nian’s eyes.

Storage treasures were not items to be casually revealed to others.

An individual’s storage treasure typically held their most personal secrets.

The revelation of these secrets could potentially invite catastrophic consequences.

Beyond any other consideration, Xu Nian’s storage ring held several divine artifacts and a substantial quantity of artifact refining materials.

Displaying such treasures could entice even cultivators at the Divine level.

"Do not push your luck; do not think I will not dare to kill you," Xu Nian warned with a cold tone.

"Hmph, such bold words, thinking of killing us—junior brothers and sisters, attack, kill them!" The leading young man immediately gave the order.

"Yes!" The disciples promptly drew their weapons.

They charged directly at Xu Nian.

A hint of helplessness flickered in Xu Nian's eyes.

He looked up at the sky as the group moved to attack him, focusing his gaze.

An immensely powerful aura erupted in an instant.

The very next moment, every one of them was sent flying backward, spitting blood from their mouths.

"Nether Emperor?"

Expressions of astonishment filled their eyes.

They had never anticipated that this young man, around their own age, would possess a cultivation level of Nether Emperor.

Keep in mind, they were the elites of the Chaoyang Sect, blessed with abundant cultivation resources, yet they had only managed to reach the Nether King Realm.

But this young man was a Nether Emperor.

"I said I hadn't seen it, and you didn't believe me. I don't mind killing you all," Xu Nian threatened coldly.

"It was our mistake; we offended you, Nether Emperor. Please spare us." The lead youth's eyes darted around as he quickly begged for mercy.

"Spare us," the others pleaded, fear evident in their voices.

Xu Nian couldn't be bothered to exchange more words with them.

"Get lost!" Xu Nian shouted sternly.

The young men and women immediately scattered and fled in panic.

Qin Xue witnessed this scene and felt immensely satisfied.

However, the Lei Family Ancestor shook his head.

"You should have killed them; otherwise, there will be trouble," the Lei Family Ancestor remarked with a slight smile.

"I do not wish to create trouble for now, but if they dare to return, do not blame me for not being polite," Xu Nian replied with a faint smile.

Yet, approximately two hours later, several figures came flying in once more.

This time, two additional elders accompanied them.

"Uncle Master, it is them. Not only did they capture our Nether Fragrance Deer, but they also injured us and insulted our Chaoyang Sect," the lead youth immediately reported.

Upon hearing this, the elder was filled with rage, casting hostile glances at Xu Nian and the others.

"See, the trouble has returned," the Lei Family Ancestor commented with amusement.

Qin Xue was furious.

Xu Nian had clearly chosen to spare their lives, and still, they dared to stir up more trouble.

Xu Nian could only shake his head helplessly.

Indeed, he had been too naive!
