Just then, the landline rang. Mo Yang answered the call and exchanged a few brief words with the person calling. A grin spread across Mo Yang’s face. “Is it all set? Is it certain she’s going?”
The caller chuckled and replied, “Absolutely. My sources are solid. Since she gave her word, she’ll definitely be there.”
“Perfect. I’ll head over immediately!” Mo Yang declared before hanging up the receiver.
Gu Qingyao inquired, “What is it? Are you heading out?”
Mo Yang smiled as he answered, “I’m meeting up with some friends. We have plans to go out and have some fun today.”
“Oh, and Mom! I might not return tonight. We’re traveling to the coast and might stay there for a couple of days.”
Gu Qingyao wasn't worried. Her son had been self-reliant since he was a child, even venturing overseas on his own.
“Very well, enjoy yourself. Just make sure not to drive too fast!”
“I got it!”
Watching Mo Yang’s retreating back, Gu Qingyao smiled. He seemed to be in high spirits. “The boy is in such a wonderful mood today! I wonder which friend has made him this happy?”
Mo Beihan gave a cold snort. “Who else could it be but Chu Yue? He probably dressed up like that because Chu Yue thinks he’s getting too old!”
Gu Qingyao flared up in anger. “You, shut your mouth. What kind of father speaks about his son that way? My Yang Yang is still so young!”
Chu Yue had agreed to spend the day with her friends. They were a close-knit group. This particular outing was organized by their senior, and she had accepted the invitation.
Reflecting on her mother's words, she felt the advice was quite logical.

“I’m heading out with friends today. Some are classmates, and you’re acquainted with a few of the others. Are you available? Would you like to join us?”

Chu Yue was at a loss for words, her heart sinking with disappointment.

The girl’s voice sounded noticeably pathetic.
This was her first time asking him out since they had reached adulthood, yet it had ended this way. Naturally, she felt miserable!
Mo Yang chuckled and said, “Mhm! It’s very important. I’m going to see someone. She is the most significant person in my life.”
Chu Yue felt her heart shatter!
Mo Yang continued, “I can’t talk anymore. I’m driving! I’ll see you in a bit!”
With those words, he ended the call!
