Max Morgan faces Aurelian Lareth, with both fighters possessing the Heavenly Luminance Divine Bloodline. Aurelian wields the power openly, while Max's bloodline has only recently begun to reawaken after being stolen. They engage in a battle of identical techniques, revealing Max's connection to Aurelian's power.

Max stood still, and the feathers reached him. Or rather, they reached him and dissolved. The golden-white blades touched his body, but the light within them seemed to sink into an unseen luminous dimension surrounding him.

They could not pierce his skin, they could not burn his flesh, and they could not so much as disturb his breathing. They faded harmlessly away, as though returning to the place they had come from.

Aurelian's eyes widened slightly.

Max watched the vanishing feathers and said calmly, "Too light."

Aurelian's face turned ugly, and the Divine Realm erupted in disbelief.

"His attacks are not hurting Max!"

"He is not even defending!"

"The Twelve Sacred Wings vanished the moment they touched him!"

"What kind of light resistance is that?"

Max took one step forward as golden-white radiance climbed around his body. He lifted his hand, and twelve wings of light opened behind him as well.

Compared to Aurelian's wings, Max's looked less ornamental and less royal, yet far more intimate with the essence of light itself. They did not resemble the decoration of a throne. They looked like something born directly from a living source.

"Heavenly Luminance, Twelve Sacred Wings."

The feathers shot forward, and Aurelian raised his hand quickly.

"Heavenly Luminance, Sacred Mirror Guard."

A golden-white mirror formed in front of him, and Max's feathers struck it.

Crack!

The mirror split apart. Aurelian swept his arm and scattered the remaining feathers with a wave of divine light, but his expression had grown far colder than before.

He could no longer ignore what was happening. Max was not merely imitating the outer form of his techniques. He was wielding the Heavenly Luminance power with frightening compatibility.

Max looked at him and asked, "Does it bother you?"

Aurelian clenched his jaw. "What?"

"That when you look at me, the power inside you answers," Max said quietly.

The words remained vague enough for the audience to misread, but to Aurelian they felt like a blade sliding beneath his ribs.

Aurelian's light erupted.

"Heavenly Luminance, Crowned Sun Judgment."

A crown of sacred light appeared above the stage and released a massive golden-white pillar straight down at Max. This attack carried far greater power than everything before it, enough to crush weaker Pseudo Cosmic Paths if wielded properly.

Max looked up as the pillar descended, and he did not dodge. The Crowned Sun Judgment struck him head-on.

Boom!

The stage around Max shattered beneath the force of the blow. Golden-white light swallowed his figure whole, and the arena barrier flared brightly from the impact.

Aurelian stared into the pillar with cold eyes. Then the light faded, and Max still stood there, entirely unharmed. His clothes had not even been singed. A faint golden-white glow flowed around him for a moment before sinking back into his body like water returning to the sea.

Max raised his eyes toward Aurelian. "Again."

The word was soft, yet it made Aurelian's expression stiffen. For the first time, something close to disbelief entered the Divine Son's eyes.

"No."

Max tilted his head slightly. "No?"

Aurelian's aura surged violently.

"Heavenly Luminance, Royal Sun Spear."

A massive spear of divine light formed in his hand and shot toward Max's chest. Max opened his palm, and the spear struck him and dissolved.

"Heavenly Luminance, Divine Flame Burial."

Golden-white flames rose from beneath Max's feet and swallowed him, and then the flames simply disappeared.

"Heavenly Luminance, Sacred Sun Cage."

A cage of radiant light closed around Max, every bar burning with sealing power. Max walked straight through it, and the cage shattered without offering the slightest resistance.

"Heavenly Luminance, Sun King's Execution."

Aurelian shaped a giant blade of sacred light and swung it down with both hands. Max raised one finger, and the blade struck that finger and broke.

This time, the entire arena went completely silent.

Aurelian stared at Max's finger, and then at Max's face. His breathing had grown heavy.

Max lowered his hand slowly. "Do you understand now?"

Aurelian's eyes turned cold and furious. "Understand what?"

Max stepped closer. The stage beneath his feet glowed faintly with golden-white light, but unlike Aurelian's light, Max's radiance made no attempt to dominate the battlefield. It simply existed, calm and absolute, as though the light around him felt no need to prove itself.

"You are trying to use light attacks that was never truly yours." Max said smiling.

Aurelian's face changed. The sentence still was not open enough for the crowd to grasp the full truth, but it struck Aurelian directly.

The power he carried, the power he had treated as proof of his divinity, was failing against Max again and again. His attacks held enough force to injure other peak geniuses, yet against Max they collapsed as though they had lost their reason to harm him.

Max continued, his voice pitched low enough that only Aurelian could hear him clearly through the surrounding explosions of light. "Because what you carry came from me."

Aurelian's pupils shrank. For one breath, all his arrogance cracked, and then it returned as fury.

"Shut up."

Golden-white light erupted behind him. Sacred halls appeared and radiant pillars rose, and a golden throne manifested beneath an endless sun. The Heavenly Luminance Divine Dominion descended with overwhelming majesty, spreading across the central stage like a divine kingdom declaring judgment upon the world.

"Pseudo Cosmic Path," Aurelian said coldly, his voice trembling with anger he could barely suppress. "Heavenly Luminance Divine Dominion."

Boom!

The dominion swallowed the battlefield. This time, Aurelian held nothing back. The sacred halls poured out endless light while the radiant pillars locked onto Max. The throne beneath the sun blazed with oppressive authority, and the golden-white crown above Aurelian's head grew nearly solid.

"Divine Dominion, Luminance Decree."

A sacred decree unfurled above Max and released countless words of divine judgment. Max stood beneath it as the words struck him, and they dissolved.

Aurelian's expression twisted.

"Divine Dominion, Twelve Pillars of Sacred Judgment."

Twelve radiant pillars encircled Max and fired beams of Heavenly Luminance empowered by the Pseudo Cosmic Path from every direction. The beams struck him and faded against his body, like sunlight vanishing into a deeper light. Max slowly walked forward through the barrage, and his voice stayed calm.

"You are using my own bloodline's light against me."

Aurelian's face paled slightly.

"Divine Dominion, Royal Mandate of the Endless Sun."

The endless sun above the divine kingdom flared brighter than it ever had. A massive pillar of golden-white authority came crashing down, pouring all of its judgment, purification, and suppression onto Max.

Max stopped walking. The light struck him in full, the ground around him cracked, and the barrier trembled. Yet Max remained standing.

The Dimension of Light within him opened in silence, and the Heavenly Luminance power straining to injure him was drawn into that inner dimension, where it was scattered, absorbed, and rendered harmless.

It was not that Aurelian's attack was weak. Against almost anyone else, it would have been terrifying. Against Max, however, light itself held almost no meaning as a weapon unless it was used as an attack by someone who was way too stronger than him.

Max looked at Aurelian through the pillar of radiance, and Aurelian stared back. For the first time, true anxiety surfaced in the Divine Son's eyes. He could not understand it, and he could not accept it.

His Heavenly Luminance Divine Dominion had injured Morgana, suppressed Rakan at range, and fought Damian's Sword Sovereign Heaven to the very limit. Yet against Max, it felt as though he were throwing water into the ocean.

Max stepped forward again, and the Royal Mandate shattered around him.

"You relied on something that was never truly yours," Max said softly. "You built status on it. You built pride on it. You built your path on it."

Aurelian's lips tightened, and Max's gaze grew colder.

"But when the owner stands before you, what can a thief do with stolen light?"
