Ervin unleashed his Abyssal Origin Descent, creating a dark sea that suppressed Orion's movements. Orion fought back, combining his stars to push through the abyssal pressure, but Ervin's attacks landed. Though Orion's old injuries reopened, he continued to press the attack. Finally, Orion decided to use his incomplete Starfall Extinction, collapsing his nine stars into his fist despite his weakened state.

Ervin's Abyssal Origin Descent responded instantly. The black sea rose higher than it ever had, and the broken gate behind him began to open. It did not open slightly. It opened far wider than before. A soundless pressure spilled out from behind the gate, and for one brief instant, several of the top geniuses felt their hearts tighten.

Max's eyes narrowed.

'That gate again.'

Ervin's voice remained calm, but his aura had clearly grown heavier.

"Abyssal Origin Descent, Return To Depth."

The broken gate pulled, and Orion's Starfall Extinction struck its edge.

Boom!

The star force exploded, but instead of spreading outward, it was dragged inward by the abyssal gate. The first layer of Starfall Extinction collapsed while still resisting. The second layer erupted and tore a crack across the gate's shadow. The third layer burned like a dying star and forced Ervin back half a step.

Ervin's expression shifted slightly. Orion roared and drove his fist deeper, and the star force pressed onward. For a moment it seemed that Starfall Extinction might pierce through the gate's pull, but Orion's body was no longer in peak condition.

The brilliance in his fist flickered and his arm trembled. The star essence within his body began breaking apart before the technique could reach its full eruption.

Ervin stepped forward as the black sea surged.

"Endless Depth."

The broken gate swallowed. The remaining layers of Starfall Extinction sank one by one into the abyssal opening, their light dimming like a star falling beneath an endless sea.

Orion tried to force out one final burst, but his body could no longer sustain it, and the last star layer collapsed before it could fully detonate.

The gate closed partway, and the starlight vanished.

Orion stood before Ervin with his fist still extended and blood dripping from his arm. For a moment, neither of them moved. Then Orion sighed.

"Again... not enough."

His body swayed. Ervin's spear came to rest before his throat, but he did not thrust. Orion looked at the spear tip and laughed softly.

"I surrender before I faint standing."

Angelina Valerius raised her hand.

The arena stayed silent for a few breaths before the Nine Star Court disciples began cheering once more. They cheered not because Orion had won, but because he had fought with everything he had left.

Even wounded, exhausted, and far from his peak, he had forced Ervin to open the broken gate wider and use Return To Depth in earnest. That alone was enough to prove his strength all over again.

Ervin withdrew his spear. "You would have been more dangerous at full strength."

Orion smiled tiredly. "I will take that as comfort."

Ervin nodded. "It was meant as one."

The transfer light descended and carried both of them back to their pillars. Orion sat down the moment he returned, laughing weakly to himself as the Eternal Hourglass began healing his injuries once again.

Ervin remained standing, though his gaze lingered on Orion a moment longer than usual. The battle had not been easy, and everyone who understood the clash could see it plainly.

Orion had lost, but he had not fallen cheaply. And Ervin's Abyssal Origin Descent had once again proven itself one of the most mysterious and dangerous Pseudo Cosmic Paths in the entire final stage.

The result drew sighs from many watchers. Orion was incredibly strong, and almost no one doubted that he belonged among the peak geniuses of the conference. Yet his repeated clashes against monsters like Revona and Ervin had left him in a punishing position.

His strength was real, his Pseudo Cosmic Path was majestic, and his self-created technique had shocked the Divine Realm. Even so, in this final stage, brilliance alone could still lose to a worse matchup.

The next major match arrived quickly.

[Damian Voss vs Morgana Starveil]

Morgana entered the arena wearing a bitter smile, fully aware that this was not a favorable fight. Her Star-Curse Labyrinth was extremely dangerous against most opponents, but Damian's Sword Sovereign Heaven had already proven it could cut through the structure behind powerful Pseudo Cosmic Paths. She still fought with everything she had.

The Star-Curse Labyrinth opened, curse mirrors filled the stage, and countless witch symbols strained to twist Damian's direction, his senses, and his sword rhythm.

Damian did not rush. He raised his sword and used "Sword Sovereign Heaven, First Edict, All Blades Refuse Submission," then followed with "Sword Sovereign Heaven, Third Edict, Blade Meets The Moonless Curse."

His blade carved through the curse mirrors one by one. When Morgana attempted to activate "Star-Curse Labyrinth, Nameless Witch Burial," Damian answered with "Sword Sovereign Heaven, One Sword Divides Heaven" and split the burial curse before it could close around him.

Morgana surrendered with a sigh, though no shame showed on her face.

"Of course he won," Rakan muttered from his pillar, though his eyes stayed sharp.

Morgana returned to her pillar and looked at Damian with a smile that was half amused and half weary. "Swordsmen are really unpleasant opponents."

Damian only nodded slightly, his expression as calm as ever.

Then another match seized everyone's attention.

[Revona vs Rakan Thorne]

The moment those two names appeared together, the arena went quiet again, for this was no simple matchup.

Rakan Thorne possessed terrifying physical strength, and against most energy-based geniuses his War God Body was a walking nightmare. He could charge through attacks, break defensive formations with his bare fists, and drag opponents into close combat where very few could survive him.

Revona, however, was no ordinary long-range or energy-based fighter. Her Void Origin Eyes did more than block attacks. They erased force, nullified the structures of techniques, and dismantled the foundation of an enemy's power before it ever fully reached her.
