Max returns to Acaris and briefly speaks with Allen Spencer, who is now the Crownbearer. Max then departs Acaris and arrives back in Orion. He releases the cultivators he had saved from the secret domain. Mira and Edwin confront Max, vowing revenge before leaving with the remaining Sword God Palace members.

A palpable tension dissipated from the air once the Sword God Palace contingent had departed.

The assembled members of the War God Palace exchanged glances, and then one of their elders, his demeanor serene yet his eyes alight with keen interest, moved towards Max.

"Might you display the Saint Token for us?" he inquired with deference.

Without a moment's hesitation, Max obliged, producing the token with a flick of his wrist.

Its appearance instantly altered the expressions of all present.

An aura of ancient dignity emanated from the token, its surface etched with symbols that, while appearing simple at first glance, concealed a profound depth unfathomable to the common person. Even after the passage of innumerable years, the authority and prestige it commanded remained undiminished.

The elder's breaths grew noticeably deeper as he fixed his gaze upon it.

"This..." he stammered, astonishment coloring his words, "This is indeed the Saint Token of Saint Reiner."

The other elders were equally taken aback. Around them, numerous disciples from the War God Palace stared with wide, disbelieving eyes. For most, Saint Reiner was merely a figure of legend, confined to tales and historical records. Yet here, tangible proof of that legend lay in Max's hand.

The scrutiny Max received intensified, becoming considerably more serious.

Tamara then advanced, her gaze a mixture of admiration and deep curiosity.

"I am certain Saint Reiner would have wished for you to visit the War God Palace one day," she stated. "Why not accompany us now? With the Saint Token in your possession, you would be received with the utmost honor."

Max listened intently before offering a slight shake of his head.

"The timing is not yet opportune," he responded. "I do intend to visit the War God Palace in the future and pay my respects to Saint Reiner. However, I believe that can only occur subsequent to the Cosmic Ascension Conference."

Tamara's eyes narrowed subtly.

"You intend to participate in the Cosmic Ascension Conference as well?"

Surprise laced her tone, though it lacked any hint of disbelief.

She scrutinized him more closely before continuing, "Your innate talent is undeniable, yet your current cultivation is perhaps insufficient for a gathering of such magnitude. It seems you arrived a bit too late for this particular cycle's conference."

Max let out a soft chuckle, unfazed by her candid assessment.

"I am aware of that," he affirmed. "I shall simply exert my utmost effort and see where my path leads."

Tamara offered a smile.

"Such confidence is admirable." Her expression then shifted, a spark of competitive spirit igniting. "Very well. I wish you good fortune in the Cosmic Ascension Conference. However, should you cross paths with me or any other disciple from the War God Palace there, do not anticipate any leniency simply because you bear the Saint Token."

Max responded with a nod, a faint smile gracing his lips.

"Nor would I wish for such."

Tamara appeared content with his reply.

Her tone then softened somewhat as she raised another point.

"Regarding the Black Dragon Clan, you need not harbor excessive worry. I highly doubt the Sword God Palace would dare to act openly against your forces, knowing we provide you our backing."

She paused momentarily before adding, "Nevertheless, we shall still dispatch a contingent to your location as a precautionary measure. Should they instigate any rash actions, it will not be a straightforward endeavor for them."

Max's expression grew more grave, and he offered her a respectful nod.

"My gratitude for this is profound."

Tamara waved his thanks away dismissively, the gesture radiating assurance rather than outright arrogance.

Following this, the War God Palace elders continued their discussion with Max for a considerable duration, inquiring about various aspects concerning Orion, Saint Reiner, and his prospective endeavors. The atmosphere had decidedly warmed compared to its initial state.

Eventually, their affairs were concluded.

The War God Palace members bid Max farewell and departed in succession, their formidable auras gradually fading into the distance.

Before long, Max found himself standing alone once more.

Yet, the solitude was different this time; he was now aware that one of the realm's most formidable powers had pledged at least partial support to his cause.

"You have indeed earned the favor of the War God Palace."

Lucia finally broke her silence after the others had departed. She had maintained a quiet observation for some time, still processing the extraordinary events she had just witnessed. Even now, the notion that the esteemed members of the War God Palace, a force respected and feared across countless territories, had addressed Max with such courtesy and consideration felt almost dreamlike.

Max simply shook his head and emitted a soft sigh.

"It amounts to little more than a temporary pact," he stated calmly. "Their current respect stems from the circumstances, not from me personally. Until I demonstrate my own intrinsic value, none of this truly holds significant meaning."

His gaze subtly narrowed as he directed his sight towards the distant horizon.

"Only when I exhibit sufficient power and talent will the War God Palace accord me genuine consideration. The Cosmic Ascension Conference represents my primary opportunity to achieve precisely that."

Lucia gave a slow nod, the meaning of his words sinking in. In a world where power reigned supreme, any respect gained through association was fleeting. True standing, she understood, had to be forged through personal achievement.

"I understand now," she responded. After a brief silence, she posed another question: "Are we still proceeding to Dragon Death Valley?"

A grin illuminated Max's face, his sharp confidence instantly returning.

"But of course," he affirmed. "How could I possibly overlook Dragon Death Valley? It was precisely one of the paramount reasons for my journey here in the first place."

His gaze then drifted, scanning the surroundings until it settled upon a familiar figure standing some distance away.

Rose.

She maintained her distance from the others, exhibiting her usual composed and watchful demeanor.

Max turned his attention back to Lucia. "Rose can guide us there, can't she?"

Lucia offered a slight nod. "Allow me to speak with her."

With that, she moved purposefully toward Rose, leaving Max to his thoughts for the time being.

As Lucia departed, Max's expression gradually shifted to one of deep contemplation.

He lowered his gaze, commencing a silent self-assessment.

"My cultivation has now ascended to the fifth level of the Law Awakening Realm," he mused internally. "The Cosmic Ascension Conference approaches, and time is becoming increasingly scarce."

His mind rapidly processed various scenarios, weighing potential opportunities and lurking dangers.

That grand assembly would convene prodigious geniuses from countless factions, with many originating from the pinnacle of the Law Manifestation Realm. However, due to the specific constraints of the conference, their cultivation would likely be deliberately suppressed to the zenith of the Law Refinement Realm.

Even under such enforced limitations, these anticipated adversaries would still command formidable combat experience, possess superior foundational strength, and wield techniques far exceeding those of ordinary cultivators.

A subtle pressure began to manifest in Max's chest, though it stemmed not from fear.

It was, instead, a potent surge of motivation.

"To truly contend with them," he resolved in his thoughts, "I must at the very least attain the peak of the Law Awakening Realm before the conference commences."

This was the baseline standard he had established for himself.

Falling short of this goal would inevitably mean stepping onto the competitive stage at a significant disadvantage against the most exceptional talents of an entire generation.

Max slowly clenched his fist, acutely feeling the potent strength coursing through his physical being.

Only a handful of months remained.

And within that limited timeframe, his unwavering intention was to ascend as high as his capabilities would allow.
