The crimson aura enveloping Lilly climbed to its ultimate height, turning the glow so fierce that spirits forged from sheer essence couldn't help but look aside, guarding their sight against the staggering splendor.
This brilliance overflowed across the full Dimension of Spirit, dyeing the heavens and ground in rich scarlet tones, as the atmosphere shook with a deep vibration that carried an timeless, holy weight. It wasn't simply force spreading abroad but a core shift unfolding, like the core principles ruling spirits were getting remade in that instant.
Suddenly, the piercing light pulled back. The scarlet radiance curled inside, breaking apart into myriad specks that sank into Lilly's form, resulting in a hush so thick that even the frolicsome spirits halted in total quiet.
As all gradually uncovered their eyes, the view that met them sent waves of astonishment through every soul there. Blob himself, having seen endless odd events in the Dimension of Spirit, stood rooted, his face etched with utter astonishment.
In the spot once held by the tiny red spirit now rose a human-like shape. Lilly had claimed the mightiest and scarcest shape any spirit could hope for, one that myriad spirits yearned for yet scarcely any ever grasped.
Her frame stood whole, harmonious and polished, emitting a born command that outstripped regular spirits by a vast degree. Fiery dark red locks tumbled down her back like flowing magma, every thread dancing with soft scarlet fires that seemed to pulse with life.
Her gaze blazed with a profound ruby gleam, sharp and wise, free from the naivety of a formless spirit and instead holding the insight of a fully realized entity.
What left Max most amazed was her visage. It mirrored his own more closely than he'd imagined, echoing the same keen lines and steady focus, tempered just a touch by a young elegance. The likeness was beyond question, as though she truly sprang from his core instead of just being shaped by it.
The nearby spirits gazed in wonder and respect, naturally detecting that Lilly had ascended to a level way beyond theirs, a presence fated to rule the heights of spirit life. At that point, it struck everyone there that Lilly's emergence wasn't just uncommon, but a happening that challenged the fabric of nature.
"This… this… how is this possible!" Blob burst out, his tone laced with shock as he fixed on Lilly's changed shape. He was utterly floored, his typical jolly poise broken by the spectacle unfolding.
The vision in front of him broke every bit of lore he held on spirits and their progress. This went past rare—it edged on the unthinkable. For Blob, it wasn't only Lilly's feat but the fulfillment of a vision he and endless other spirits throughout realms had cherished yet never really thought possible.
Spirit evolution held just three recognized phases. The initial one featured aware shapes with basic sense but no clear speech or thought. The next was what Blob had gained, allowing a spirit to talk, think logically, and mingle openly with others. Past that waited the ultimate phase, the human-like shape, the fullest and strongest state a spirit could claim.
This shift was viewed as nearly impossible, more myth than fact. Blob had shared with Max many times that gaining a human body was his top aspiration, but even over endless time, he'd never neared it. Yet now Lilly had seized it in just instants, unfolding right in his view.
"Is this the humanoid form of spirits?" Max questioned at last, his tone steady yet brimming with interest as he studied Lilly closely.
"Yes, Master," Tian answered with a serene grin. "Lilly stands apart from typical spirits. She didn't arise from the wilds but formed inside the Dimension of Spirit via your blood. Nurtured in this realm's flawless essence, she effortlessly claimed her peak shape. Still, that shape needed your naming to finish, since that bound her being and fixed her sense of self."
"I see," Max replied, giving a slow nod while taking in Tian's words.
"Father, how do I look? Am I pretty enough?" Lilly piped up abruptly, her voice lively and thrilled as she circled Max, spinning with zeal to display her fresh shape. Her actions flowed with energy and ease, bursting with delight at mere being.
Max offered a kind smile and dipped his head. "My Lilly is the loveliest spirit around."
"I knew it!" Lilly shouted with glee, leaping back in pure joy.
Seeing her boundless thrill, Max sensed a soft warmth bloom in his heart. Lilly's evident bliss and vitality drew a tender grin to his lips, one that showed both honor and a surprising duty he couldn't quite grasp.
"Lilly, can you return to your usual spirit shape?" Max inquired softly while regarding her.
"I can," Lilly answered right away. A mild red shimmer spread over her frame again, much softer this time, and soon her human-like outline melted into swirling scarlet rays. As the shimmer dimmed, her known spirit shape returned, hovering gently aloft, her aura steady and assured.
"Nice," Max acknowledged with a pleased nod. Relief washed over him truly at her smooth switch between human-like and spirit shapes. Such command showed her change wasn't shaky or imposed, but woven naturally into her core.
"Good job, Lilly," Max voiced fondly as he readied to depart the Dimension of Spirit.
"Are you going, Father?" Lilly questioned out of nowhere.
"How did you know?" Max swung to face her, caught off guard.
"Though I didn't come into being like the rest, I sense it," Lilly said gently, her look shifting to a light sorrow. "Father doesn't linger long in this place."
Max grinned at her remark, a faint pang touching his heart. "Don't fret. I've got a method to remain by your side however long you wish."
"Yay!" Lilly yelped with rapture, darting through the air in elation as her gloom fled in a flash.
"I'll return shortly," Max stated, and his form vanished from the Dimension of Spirit.
The very next moment, he materialized in the Dimension of Time. His clone, which had kept up steady practice there, gradually lifted its lids. "Leave it to me," the clone uttered evenly. Its shape faded and popped up anew in the Dimension of Spirit, where it started engaging Lilly, frolicking with her and offering companionship.
Out in the actual realm, Max lifted his eyes and murmured reflectively, "I ought to station my clone in the Dimension of Spirit for good right now. That ensures Lilly never faces solitude, and somehow, I'll always stay near her as well."
He gave himself an affirming nod, truly content with the choice.
