"Slay them all!"
As the commanders and top-tier aces from the four grand military legions arrived at the theater of war, they were immediately struck by a blood-drenched atmosphere, brutal and suffocating. Before them laid nothing but a tapestry of mangled corpses and rivers of blood. This grim display served as a haunting testament to how catastrophic this confrontation had become.
Notwithstanding this state of near-total annihilation, the Undying Cockroach Army Group maintained a predatory fervor that burned like a wildfire. Even the two hundred thousand survivor-level soldiers displayed a potency that eclipsed all other major military units. This unwavering tenacity earned the Roach Emperor and his legion an immense, begrudging respect from the arriving generals. It was no mystery why the Wolf Lord had appointed them the preeminent vassal territory; it was clear why the Roach Emperor stood atop the Three Emperors with his Six Honors. The sheer brutality of this carnage spoke for itself.
"Kill!"
Ignoring any hesitation, the elite aces of the four reinforcement groups unfurled the Star Sky Battle Flag, drawing the grand fortune of their destiny into the fray. Sensing the influx of reinforcements, the Black Sun Constant Star Lord shifted forty trillion of his Sin Army troops to repel the newcomers. Even these hardened veterans were stunned upon initial contact; the raw strength of the Sin Army was unlike anything they had ever encountered.
Boom! Boom!
Every thunderous collision failed to shatter the disciplined battle formations of the Sin Army, leaving the elite invaders to reel backward in a slow, desperate retreat. "What in the world is happening? Have all the foes faced by the Roach Emperor for the past millennium been this monstrous? Their formations are impenetrable, and their collective power is overwhelming! Our elite strikes are useless!" exclaimed the Corpse Worm King. Having previously locked horns with the Roach Emperor, the King now realized the vast gulf between its own Corpse Insect Clan and the Undying Cockroach Clan. Once a dominant force across the Blazing Nebula, they were now but a shadow, failing to match even a tenth of the Roach Emperor's might.
"If you cannot hold the line, pivot to flanking maneuvers! Avoid direct engagement; this force is far too potent!" the other commanders roared in unison. The Wolf Pack Civilization cared little for empty pride; if a head-on clash proved disadvantageous, harassment and preservation were the paths to survival.
"Hmph! So aside from the Cockroaches, the rest of the Wolf Pack Civilization is nothing but a bag of sniveling cowards!" the Black Sun Constant Star Lord sneered, his eyes gleaming with scorn as he diverted attention from his suppression of the foil-level weapon. With a flicker of his intellect, his Extreme Heaven Realm Heavy Artifact—the Sin Blade—manifested in his grasp. This weapon held the very essence of the Endless Sin Star, capable of warping the heavens and incinerating the atmosphere. He hurled the blade toward the Roach Emperor with lethal precision.
Splatter! In a heartbeat, the blade sliced through the fabric of space, shattering the Roach Emperor's physical frame. Though the skeletal remains struggled to break free, the immense pressure of the Sin Blade pinned him to the void. Roaring his triumph, the Black Sun Constant Star Lord ordered his forces to crush the remaining pockets of resistance. With the Roach Emperor neutralized, twenty trillion Sin troops and thirty trillion vassals were more than sufficient to eradicate the remainder of the Cockroach Army. He intended to finish this sweep swiftly, fearing the reputation of the Wolf Lord who had bent the Roach Emperor to his will.
The Black Sun Constant Star Lord was a man of total commitment; he sought to annihilate these distractions quickly to bolster his High Priest. After all, the true outcome of this war rested not here, but with the High Priest and the mysterious Wolf Lord. If the High Priest fell, even a complete victory over the Wolf Pack’s five major legions would be hollow, forcing an immediate retreat. He couldn't begin to fathom the true power of the Wolf Lord—a being who could challenge the High Priest and his Hidden Guards. Such power bordered on the taboo.
......
While the skies burned with the carnage of the southern war, the Wolf Lord and the figure draped in black robes traversed the dimensions, arriving at the Star Sky Barrier. Su Lin had not anticipated such a precise ambush while traveling alone through the void. His Divine Speed was so vast that even those nearing the taboo could not easily predict his path. He had been in the Hundred Stars Alliance one moment, and hundreds of light-years away the next.
For a half-step taboo like him, fracturing space-time was mundane. Su Lin had even toyed with the idea of peering into the past and future, much like the great taboos, but the heavy scent of cause and effect surrounding those currents warned him off. He dared not tempt fate further. Yet, despite his peerless velocity and caution, he found himself ensnared in a perfectly orchestrated cage.
