Devouring Evolution: I Reborn as an Arctic Wolf Chapter 1804 - 1010: Sea of Star Sand Retreat? (Part 2)
Previously on Devouring Evolution: I Reborn as an Arctic Wolf...
It was almost impossible for them to accept that more than seventy percent of the exotic beasts had endured heavy battle casualties, but they still gripped on fiercely, unwilling to withdraw a single step.
The veterans from the Flame Angel Army Group, those who had once hand-trained countless recruits, fell in combat, and this sight sent the entire Flame Angels into a raging fury!
To them, the devastating end of the Phantom Army might have seemed like the mere collapse of a close ally.
Yet now, it was their own past instructors, the seasoned fighters, perishing directly in front of them.
No requirement for enduring a thousand or even a hundred fierce clashes—just this single clash, with the agony piercing their souls, ignited their madness and forged them into a true Wolf Civilization Army.
All that remained ahead was to temper themselves through endless savage fights!
"Kill! Kill! Kill! Even if I perish, I’ll pull you all into the abyss with me!"
Such a roar erupted from a Flame Angel soldier, laced with suicidal resolve, sparking like a flame in the midst of the exhausted and wavering Great Army of Sea of Star Sand, and it rapidly set the battlefield ablaze across thousands of miles.
As a minor offshoot, the Flame Angels retained a hint of the Angel Clan bloodline, and the fire they kindled could inflict grave harm on exotic beasts far beyond their rank.
In that instant, it wounded numerous Heavenly Boundary first and second tier space bandits badly.
The Star Sky Main Ship, already battered from enduring three foil-level strikes from the Ashen Sky Beast, lay fractured and worn, yet a squad of Flame Angels steered it in a desperate rush toward the primary stronghold of the Sea of Star Sand.
This action hastily set off various poison traps and deadly formations originally meant to ensnare the Wolf Civilization Army.
The wicked outlaws of the Sea of Star Sand beheld these events and finally broke under the pressure.
"Curse it, we should pull out now—we can’t claim victory here. Since when did we face a clash this brutal? Losses are piling up too fast; if we persist and the Wolf Civilization Army arrives, we’re finished!"
A space outlaw broadcast these words dripping with terror and panic.
Though they excelled at safeguarding their lives and defeating foes at low cost, in this compact but savagely intense arena, they abandoned close to a hundred billion corpses.
At present, their combat toll matched the Wolf Civilization Vanguard Army almost evenly.
They had suffered even heavier defeats than the Wolf Civilization itself!
That was utterly horrifying.
After all, they specialized in hit-and-run tactics across the void, boasting unmatched personal power and endurance skills, though their teamwork in battles fell short.
Yet the foes they confronted weren’t the elite core of the Wolf Civilization, so pushing to this extreme left them genuinely terrified.
They valued their own existence far above that of any other race, even the Wolf Civilization.
Thus, for these merciless fiends of the Sea of Star Sand, enduring seventy percent losses—or even twenty or thirty percent—would have shattered their morale long ago,
stripping away their bold and overbearing attitude.
Boom!
Only when the frenzy-driven Hao Ri Princess crushed the heads of the final two lesser faction chiefs amid millions of underlings did the whole battlefield quake violently.
These exotic beast squads scattered in wild retreat, not daring to glance behind.
The blood-maddened Hao Ri Princess teetered on the edge of sanity, on the verge of shifting from a Holy Angel into the Angel Clan’s mightiest Blood Angel.
Endless waves of combat fervor and a slayer’s urge to eradicate all darkness flowed across her form.
Boom!
As these space marauders scrambled to escape, her gore-stained, bone-like twelve wings tore open massive voids in the emptiness.
This sight wrung screams of torment from countless exotic beasts,
And right when certain space outlaws lost their combat spirit and began to bolt,
a rapidly advancing dark cloud surged up behind the Wolf Civilization Vanguard Army, almost blanketing the entire cosmos, and wherever it spread, gloom swallowed light, plunging everything into absolute night.
Within that gloom, faint glimmers dotted the expanse.
Looming beyond this shadowy mass was a colossal black insect hive!
The hive towered grandly amid the stars, resembling a colossal ridge spanning millions of miles.
Perched atop this ridge was a cockroach gleaming entirely in gold.
Though this cockroach’s frame wasn’t massive, it radiated the aura of a late or peak-stage Peak Venerable, lacking overt tyrannical features yet projecting an unbeatable presence that all sensed instinctively.
Be it the Godspeed Golden Eagle, its Slaughter Heaven Guards, or the Flame Angel Army fueled by their rekindled spirits, all displayed raw dread upon first glimpsing this golden silhouette, swiftly turning to thrill.
For within the Wolf Civilization, this entity ranked just below the Wolf Lord.
She outshone even the Serpent Emperor, Lonely Wolf Emperor, and the Twelve-winged Dream Butterfly!
She stood as an absolute sovereign queen, one whom even the Wolf Lord couldn’t always direct!
The Roach Emperor had come!
Accompanied by an endless tide of Star Sky Insect Clan forces, their count a mystery, storming in precisely now!
Merely their emergence in the sight of the battlefield’s exotic beasts crushed the battle spirit of the Ashen Sky Beast and every Sea of Star Sand outlaw, sending them into chaotic flight.
.......
Su Lin guided the wolf pack back to their home ground at full speed, and the well-known terrain slowly soothed his restless mind. The cousins, those Red-tailed Fox Wolves in the den, caught the scent they knew and emerged with tails swishing, immediately noticing the ice-encrusted pack.
In the wake of the White Wolf Pack’s passage, the Predators held their breath until the imposing silhouettes of the White Wolves faded completely from sight.
Su Lin gazed with approval at the quick and unified wolf pack ahead; this was his finest troupe yet, destined to be his strongest allies in upcoming struggles. With his wolves growing ever superior, he could charge into fights without concern,
since wolves thrived as group hunters, and he had zero desire to wander as a solitary wolf.
Next, Su Lin threw his head back and unleashed a mighty howl northward, commanding the full Wolf Clan to abandon the frozen plains and head to the Land of Adventure, safeguarding their catches from any Hunter ambushes en route.
The Wolf Clan answered the call with their own howls, then dashed off along their route with blazing pace, as if eager to flaunt their swiftness and might to the Wolf King.
Seeing the pack so fired up bolstered Su Lin’s resolve to guide them toward ruling the Arctic; during the Ice Age, all life twisted and changed, and only raw power ensured survival. Anything less meant becoming someone’s meal, a doom Su Lin refused to accept!
Su Lin observed how the two Beta Wolves trailing Little Lone Wolf hauled the leftover chunks of the Invincible Fierce Tiger, their steps missing the earlier poise and vigor. He understood this as Little Lone Wolf’s way of challenging them, for Betas ought to carry themselves with poise and bravery to shoulder duties, so Su Lin stayed silent.
Little Lone Wolf approached Su Lin and issued a soft "oww," and Su Lin grasped the intent behind Little Lone Wolf’s sound.
Little Lone Wolf directed the pair of Beta Wolves to transport the tiger meat away, leaving the huge Mad Thunder Skyhawk carcass for ten Hai Wolves to haul at the back; the Skyhawk’s bulk demanded no fewer than ten to manage.
Little Lone Wolf declared the Mad Thunder Skyhawk’s meat reserved solely for Su Lin, a plan Su Lin endorsed without question. That matched his own view, as something as precious as the Mad Thunder Skyhawk wasn’t for splitting with other Lead Wolves.
