Devouring Evolution: I Reborn as an Arctic Wolf Chapter 1726 - 972: The End of an Era (Part 1)
Previously on Devouring Evolution: I Reborn as an Arctic Wolf...
This is the Destiny Heaven Seal of the Radiant Sun Tribe!
Even the hollow, numb soldiers of the Radiant Sun Tribe could not help but show a flicker of spirit in their eyes upon witnessing this heavy weapon, the ultimate symbol of their people.
Suddenly, a spiritual will carrying a proclamation resonated from the Destiny Heaven Seal.
"The Lord of the Radiant Sun has fallen. In exchange for this Destiny Heaven Seal, the legacy of the Radiant Sun Tribe, and the Extreme Heaven Realm Secret Technique, he begged me to take in his people. Today, as the ruler of the Wolf Pack Civilization, I swear to the Starry Sky Will: so long as every member of the Radiant Sun Tribe submits willingly to the Wolf Pack, all previous slaughters and grudges shall be pardoned. Rewards and punishments will be distributed equally, just as they are for the Exotic Beasts of the Wolf Pack Civilization. Let the Starry Sky witness this oath!"
Boom!
As this proclamation of spiritual will thundered behind the Radiant Sun Star, the surrounding cosmos began to vibrate and rumble.
This commotion was far more intense than any standard blood oath!
Because the Wolf Lord and the Wolf Pack Civilization had long been branded as sinful, the Starry Sky Will would still acknowledge their blood oath,
yet any violation would result in multiplied backlash and divine punishment.
Consequently, any Starry Sky Blood Oath sworn by the beings of the Sin Star is guaranteed to be sincere and immutable.
"What? The Radiant Sun Tribe nearly wiped Earth out; how can we possibly accept their surrender? They deserve total extinction! Even those who have already yielded should be executed once this battle concludes!"
The Shadow Demon was the first to voice a fierce objection.
This tribe, being descendants of the Angel Clan, possessed immense potential and had been locked in a mortal feud with the Heizi Tribe for ages. If they were to integrate with the Wolf Pack Civilization, that power structure would undoubtedly become even more dominant and formidable in the future.
While the Heizi Tribe sought an alliance with a rising star overlord, they had no desire to help foster a true rival capable of competing for control over the Star Nebula.
Naturally, they preferred to see the Wolf Pack Civilization and the Radiant Sun Tribe destroy one another!
Following the Shadow Demon’s lead, other Great Clans of the Star Nebula also projected their spiritual will with malicious intent.
The Undead Army Group, however, did not participate.
Their commander had long ago felt the terrifying nature of the Wolf Lord and had already decided against opposing him.
Many generals and warriors of the Wolf Pack Civilization were well aware that these Great Clans were merely instigating trouble,
yet the hatred they felt for the Radiant Sun Tribe was truly as massive as mountains and as deep as the seas!
It was a conflict that could never be reconciled!
Given that the Wolf Pack Civilization held such a crushing advantage, why bother with mercy?
They had already suggested multiple times that all captives and those who had surrendered previously should be buried alive!
"Awooo!"
"Roar!"
"Aung!"
"Snort!"
.....
In an instant, unrest spread through almost every division of the Wolf Pack Civilization, as they burned with the desire to charge and wipe out the Radiant Sun Tribe entirely.
However, a Star Sky Battle Flag of the Wolf Pack Civilization soon appeared above the battlefield, accompanied by a peerless silhouette.
It was the Twelve-winged Dream Butterfly, followed by the Dream Guards and the Wolf Group New Army, all tempered by centuries of brutal warfare!
They had long since replaced the various inner circles, serving as the personal legion under the Wolf Lord’s direct command!
The reason for their arrival required no explanation!
Anyone daring to defy orders on this field would be dealt with immediately!
Within moments, the entire Wolf Civilization Army—previously consumed by bloodlust—was forced into silence by the presence of the Twelve-winged Dream Butterfly and her elite forces.
Even the murderous atmosphere stirred up by the Star Nebula Great Clans began to dissipate under the Twelve-winged Dream Butterfly’s gaze.
The Twelve-winged Dream Butterfly!
This rising War Emperor of the Wolf Pack Civilization had achieved such fame over the millennia that she nearly rivaled, or even surpassed, the Lonely Wolf Emperor.
Her prestige was monumental and her martial prowess was without equal, marking her as one of the most powerful entities within the Wolf Pack Civilization.
With her arrival, even the Great Clans of the Star Nebula ceased their agitation.
Once the battlefield had fallen silent, the Twelve-winged Dream Butterfly approached the Radiant Sun Tribe’s camp alone.
"Are the Emperor’s Son of the Radiant Sun and the High Council present? Will you come out to negotiate? Your father traded his life and your entire inheritance to plead for your survival. If you accept, then step forward! If not, do not claim the Wolf Pack Civilization lacks honor. Regarding those of your army who surrendered earlier, the Wolf Lord considers that the fulfillment of his pact with your father!"
As the spiritual will of the Twelve-winged Dream Butterfly echoed,
the blood-stained Emperor’s Son of the Radiant Sun, the final remaining Patriarch, and several commanders slowly emerged from their camp.
These were the last few Heavenly Venerate level experts left in the Radiant Sun Tribe’s military.
The Emperor’s Son had long ago lost his noble grace, having been forged by blood and fire into a hardened commander.
Had the Radiant Sun Tribe remained at its zenith, ruling over the heavens, he surely would have been a worthy successor to the throne.
As the Emperor’s Son and his High Council stepped out, he looked first at the Twelve-winged Dream Butterfly and then at the Wolf Pack army, whose eyes were filled with loathing. He projected a raspy, detached spiritual will: "Is it true? Does the Wolf Lord truly intend to occupy us peacefully, as my father claimed?"
He didn't wait for a response, instead letting out a self-deprecating laugh: "It no longer matters. Whatever the motive, we owe you thanks for not wiping us out completely!"
Seeing that the Twelve-winged Dream Butterfly remained silent and merely observed them, the Emperor’s Son understood.
This successor, made numb by centuries of war, gave one last lingering look at the loyal army behind him and the sacred lands that were once theirs. He rose into the sky, his final, bitter laughter ringing across the expanse.
"Hahaha! Twelve-winged Dream Butterfly! Your Wolf Pack Civilization has triumphed! My father and I were the ones who ignited this great galactic war. My father has fallen, and today I will use my own death to secure a future for the Radiant Sun Tribe and atone for our past crimes!
Our defeat today was not due to a lack of bravery, but because my father was too arrogant. Had he been willing to bow and sell out the interests of this world, we might not have lost. Still, the winners are the rulers and the losers are the criminals. Let your Wolf Pack Civilization build its eternal empire upon the bones of the Radiant Sun Tribe!"
With those words, the Emperor’s Son of the Radiant Sun raised a notched blade and took his own life, dispersing his consciousness and setting his physical form ablaze.
He was committing total self-immolation!
.....
Standing before the Invincible Fierce Tiger, the White Wolf looked down as if staring at a corpse—cold, ruthless, and devoid of any feeling.
A crushing sense of peril instantly gripped the Invincible Fierce Tiger. Despite his shallow breathing, he felt like a piece of meat on a butcher's block, a sensation that nearly broke his spirit. He could not comprehend why the White Wolf hadn't killed him, choosing instead to haul him from the ice to the Land of Adventure to face this mounting dread. In his crippled state, he was powerless. Though panic filled his heart, resistance was impossible in this territory ruled by the White Wolf.
Su Lin scrutinized the Invincible Fierce Tiger with the indifferent eyes of a high master inspecting a new slave.
"Awoo—" Su Lin let out a low howl to the nearby Wolf Clan, gesturing for them to take the dying Siberian Tiger away and keep watch over it.
The Wolf Clan acted immediately. Several wolves worked together to haul the Fierce Tiger away, his festering wounds dragging against the earth and bleeding anew. A thin trail of blood stretched out from Su Lin’s feet, disappearing into the depths of the cave.
