Demonic Po*nstar System Chapter 1067: Splurging DMP
Previously on Demonic Po*nstar System...
Kaiden led his family back into the island cave with Aria holding his arm and Luna still finding reasons to swear at him.
"Tea. In America."
"Mom offered. It would have been rude."
"I’m going to be rude in a minute. Why didn’t you send us a message, you bastard?"
"I was in shock... But you’re right. I am truly sorry."
Hearing the sincerity in his voice, Luna lost a bit of her edge. "Damn right... You better be..."
Beside him, Aria pursed her lips.
"Kai. I understand you were surprised, but I still am not happy with your behavior."
"...I-"
"You don’t have to apologize to me." She hugged his arm even tighter to her chest. "You just need to keep me updated at all times."
Her yandere eyes were shining.
"Roger." Kaiden knew better than to argue.
"Good." Her relief had made her affectionate enough to forgive him for several things, though he suspected he ought to explain himself before discovering the limit.
"You’ll see it soon," he promised, guiding her around the broken rock. "We’re almost there."
The pale membrane parted around them. Beyond it, the conquered cavern spread beneath veins of black crystal, and Nyx slowed at the sight of the enormous passage opening through its far wall.
Green light shone at the other end.
"Kai..."
He smiled at her and kept walking.
With every step, the trees beyond the crystal became more distinct. Alice slipped past him just before the passage ended, then stopped on the grass so abruptly that Alexandra caught her shoulders to avoid walking into her.
Across the Verdant Expanse stood their palace.
"That’s our house."
For once, his sister sounded too astonished to claim anything on his behalf.
Kaiden stepped out beside her. The sight delighted him all over again, especially when Aria’s fingers tightened around his arm and he looked down to find her staring at the familiar doors.
"We can come home?" she asked.
"Whenever we want, it appears. Japan’s right behind us."
She turned to check, silver hair brushing his sleeve. Through the crystal passage, the conquered cavern remained visible, with the island’s ordinary cave beyond its entrance.
"Oh..."
Her happiness reached him through the embrace she gave his arm. They could enjoy Yunohana’s hospitality, help with the dungeons, then come back to the rooms they had made their own. He wanted to take her inside and let her see that everything was still here.
Luna walked a few steps onto the grass, looked back through the passage, then faced him again.
"You went on a date and made a fucking road to America."
"What can I say? It was a rather successful date."
"I gathered that! Holding the milf babe like you’re newlyweds..."
"I meant-"
"Yeah, yeah. You hit it off with the milf babe and upgraded the dungeon. Got it."
Yunohana whimpered into her fan. She had been waiting for that reaction since they left Vespera, and the reality was proving more vivid than she’d imagined.
...
By the time Kaiden reached the throne, Luna had heard about Yunohana calling Vespera Mother and was laughing hard enough to forgive the tea.
The palace welcomed them with its familiar warmth. Molten light travelled down the channels Calypso had built into the walls, illuminating the dais where her old throne waited. She brushed its carved arm as she passed, smiling when Kaiden took his seat.
"Getting comfortable, Darling?"
"Extremely. My demonic lover truly had great taste in architecture."
"I know, right~?"
"It wasn’t you who designed this place, though...?" Aria settled beside the throne with a hand on his shoulder.
"No need for specifics..." Calypso muttered, eyes narrowed at the yandere beauty.
Aria didn’t seem apologetic.
The others gathered around the dais while he opened the dungeon interface and made the display visible to everyone.
[Dungeon #A23-6679]
[Tier: Mid. Rank: 4.]
[Available DMP: 516,120.]
Kaiden stared at the last line.
Over half a million.
He had known there was a fortune waiting here. The Claimant’s hoard had poured into his dungeon, the fighting in Japan had added to it, and through everything since, the hoarded DMP had remained untouched.
Seeing the full amount above his own throne made him sit forward.
Last time, he had argued over which creatures could survive being left below their maximum level. He remembered studying an eight-hundred-point upgrade and wondering how many other things he would have to give up to afford it.
Now he could buy that upgrade hundreds of times.
"Kai, have you really left all those points sitting there?" Nyx asked, leaning closer to read the balance.
"Yeah... I should have done this sooner."
"With the scientists crawling all over the place, Master wanted to wait until they were gone so that the changes wouldn’t be known by the USA government," Bastet defended Kaiden. "A perfectly sensible choice we all agreed upon."
"I know that, but still... I’m amazed by your restraint, Kai," Nyx giggled.
Kaiden looked from one woman to the other, then back at the amount he could finally spend. His smirk returned.
"Well, we’re here now. Mom yeeted the fuckers out, so there’s no reason to hold back anymore. I’d like to make sure our home can handle whoever comes through either entrance."
"Then let me see what we can buy." Luna leaned over the armrest as he opened the creature catalog.
The familiar Abyssal species appeared before him, each branching into the forms he had first unlocked before the Claimant battle. Monoliths, Quakelords, Basalt Gunners. Beside them, the Nightclaw variants unfolded their wings while the Salamawyrms turned through pools of molten rock.
All of them could reach level one hundred and twenty.
Kaiden touched the Monolith’s image, bringing its immense body into the center of the projection. Obsidian plates overlapped across a chest broader than the throne, its low stance built to endure whatever reached it.
"Twenty," he decided.
Luna followed his selection.
"All at the cap?"
"Of course. Also, twelve Quakelords behind them, and eight Gunners."
She began grinning too.
"Now we’re talking."
The forty heavy creatures assembled in the purchase preview. Kaiden turned the formation, watching their mauls and armored shoulders fill the space above the dais, then opened the aerial roster beside it.
He wanted enough wings to darken an army’s sky.
One hundred Gorefiends went into the order, their hooked talons flexing as the preview formed them into hunting flights. Sixty Nightshrouds followed, darkness spreading from their translucent wings until the larger killers disappeared inside it.
Forty Skyfiends completed the aerial purchase. Their broad backs could carry his people over the battlefield while the other flights tore apart anything foolish enough to look up.
"Two hundred?" Alexandra asked.
Her hand had found the edge of the dais.
"Two hundred in the air," he confirmed, unable to keep the delight out of his voice. "Forty on the ground so far."
Yunohana lowered her fan.
"And they can leave the dungeon? All of them?"
"Master just needs to say the word~" Bastet purred, her tail lashing once with extreme satisfaction.
Yunohana stepped closer to the display, studying a Gorefiend turning above the aerial roster. Even in miniature, its hooked talons looked capable of tearing a man apart, and behind it waited an entire flight of identical creatures.
"Most awakened will never reach that level. You understand that, don’t you?"
"I do," Kaiden nodded.
Her gaze moved to the ground formation. Twenty Monoliths, with the Quakelords waiting behind them and the Gunners arranged to fire past their shoulders. Kaiden watched her read the levels again, then look up at the wings filling the rest of the projection.
"Let alone a weak nation, even the strong countries would have to bring their best guilds together to fight this. Pull them away from the places they’re protecting, persuade their leaders to cooperate..."
She looked at him in his throne.
"And you can simply summon them here, already at full strength, with every one of them ready to obey you."
Luna was grinning over his shoulder now, her gaze moving between the formation and Yunohana. "And that’s just the start, Miss Milf. After all, these puppies, unlike us flesh and bone weaklings, revive over and over again. If it comes to a fight..."
Calypso was more than happy to finish for the storm gremlin. "Even if our enemies win the first fight, all we need is just a bit of time... And our forces will be back at full strength, while theirs..."
Save for Alexandra, all of Kaiden’s girls had a cruel glint appear in their gazes.
"Big Brother will finally be respected by every nation. Or else..."
"Little Sis is ready to commit genocide, I see~" Nyx purred.
"Anyone who dares disrespect, badmouth, or do anything worse against Big Brother deserves total annihilation."
