Fisher encounters envoys from the Schwali and Wutong Tree alliances, who are seeking to counter Queen Elizabeth's growing influence. Despite initial suspicion, Fisher clarifies he opposes both Elizabeth and Nali and is there to meet Valentina. Meanwhile, Balzac and Philis engage in a heated argument, revealing a complex relationship. As Fisher's group approaches the Phoenix Bridge, a colossal Cardinal weapon, identified as 'David,' emerges from the snow, demanding their purpose and presenting them with a perplexing choice.

"Please choose."

The enormous Cardinal lowered its body and inquired such to Fisher, but the first to speak wasn’t him, it was the Cardinal of Destiny standing behind him,

"David?"

"Beep beep... What’s the matter, Madame, have we met before?"

The Cardinal’s camera, flashing with blue light, turned towards the Cardinal of Destiny and emitted a puzzled electronic sound. The Cardinal of Destiny opened her mouth but then shook her head,

"...Perhaps not, I must have mistaken."

"Beep beep..."

The Cardinal tilted its head, and despite not gaining any information, it continued to look at Fisher, seeking his response, and Fisher also gazed upon it without pause in his tone,

"I’ve come looking for Alagina and the others."

"Beep beep..."

The Cardinal seemed unmoved.

"I’m here to find my wife."

"Beep beep... Opinion received, voice recorded, visit uploaded. Welcome, Mr. Fisher Benavides, David will soon open a path to the Wutong Tree."

Having received a satisfactory answer, the Cardinal weapons extending from the massive Cardinal swiftly retracted into its body, and its tone instantly changed from sounding somewhat mechanical to a more lifelike simulated voice.

"What’s going on here, what’s the noise?!"

"Wait a minute, there’s a Cardinal here too?! And it’s so..."

Behind them, Philis and the one-armed Balzac hurriedly came with Schwali’s envoy, half-way through their inquiry, their sight was occupied by the enormous Cardinal in front, halting their speech.

"Beep beep... visit registration in progress, inquiry, what is your purpose here?"

Claiming the name "David," the Cardinal quickly moved past Fisher and his group towards Balzac and others, Fisher traced it with his gaze, and in the corner of his eye, he noticed the Cardinal of Destiny examining the gigantic machine.

A slight stir occurred in his heart, and he quietly asked her,

"This David and the one in your Creation Society, they’re not the same thing, right?"

"...Yes, and it’s quite different, at least Nali’s Cardinal wouldn’t have such a ’David’ talking to us."

Upon hearing Fisher’s words, the Cardinal of Destiny finally withdrew her gaze, her expression slightly solemn,

"The Cardinal technology obtained by Nali stems from the remnants in the Storm Sea Ruins; when truly assessed, it’s not even comparable to the ’Cardinal of the Society,’ but the Cardinal before us, regardless of intelligence or structure, is very matured... just like it was made by the Holy Land."

Upon hearing this, Emhardt swiftly approached, an unmistakable expectation in his tone,

"Are the Holy Descendants still around? What about Gabriel Angel, is she still around?"

Though he doesn’t say it, it’s evident he misses the gentle and wise angel.

The Cardinal of Destiny glanced at him, calmly responding,

"Unknown, but most probably dead... In the face of world collapse induced by the True God intervening in the world, neither the Holy Land, the Angels, nor the Heavenly Lock could possibly have survived. They fought with all their strength to prevent the destruction of their homeland, like moths rushing into flames, it’s hard to say the wisest angel escaped such a fate."

"Oh..."

Emhardt became crestfallen, his tone dragged down by Gravity.

Fisher contemplated for a moment, looking at the Cardinal bowing its head to converse with Philis, recalling the prototype that took him and Helair out of the Ideal Country,

"When I returned to the past, I encountered a Transferee who might be the Creator of the Cardinal Completions Manual, his name was Mikhail. While leaving the Holy Land, due to the matters of the Ideal Country, the Mythical Species implemented a cleanup strategy on Transferees Beyond the World, but Mikhail wasn’t among them, he was sheltered by Michael."

"Hmph, I know the Mikhail you mentioned. When I entered this world, it was about eight thousand years ago, back then Asuka said the Creation Society was founded together by them, but I’ve never seen him in person, he seemed to always stay in the Holy Land without leaving. At the founding of the Society, he left parts of the Cardinal blueprints with the Creation Society, even an [Artificial Intelligence] to handle Society affairs as his replacement, which is the David One you encountered."

The Cardinal of Destiny raised her hand, with a flash of golden light, a similarly blue-glowing Cardinal structure appeared in her palm,

"Although Mr. Mikhail never returned, before the Mythical War, all of the Cardinals worldwide were connected by something akin to the ’Network’ known in my homeland, allowing Mr. Mikhail to communicate with us remotely, helping repair and maintain the Cardinals at the Creation Society. After Asuka disappeared, contact with Mr. Mikhail also dwindled...

"During the Mythical War, the network linking Cardinals suddenly closed, David One was reset for the first time, and Mikhail sent his final warning: Never reopen the network linking the Cardinals, or it will invite calamity. I suspect this cross-distance Cardinal network’s essence isn’t the same as my homeland’s type, it resembles... the manifestation of the authority of that external deity."

Fisher stroked his chin, listening to the Cardinal of Destiny, growing increasingly curious about how the Wutong Tree crafted these Cardinals, and thus asked,
