Demi-human Girls Completion Manual Chapter 1646 - 113: Like Begets Like (Part 3)
Previously on Demi-human Girls Completion Manual...
"All of this, was arranged by you, wasn’t it? Including my life, everything I’ve experienced, all arranged by you, wasn’t it?"
But the Demi-human Girls Completion Manual had no thoughts or consciousness; it simply floated quietly, gazing at Fisher Beanvides before it.
If people manufacture a product with purpose, then was I manufactured by her, brought to the Church School’s doorstep to be raised by Teresa, and all the women I encountered along the way, was there purpose in each of that too?
To understand more clearly, is the existence of "Fisher Benavides" merely to resolve this Doomsday Prophecy looming over the world?
Thinking like this, Fisher didn’t know whether to feel relieved or saddened.
Relieved, perhaps, that many people might spend their entire lives searching for the meaning of their existence, exhausting their mind questioning the significance of every moment, but he needn’t ponder this ultimate question that has brought countless philosophers to their knees.
Saddened, he was unsure whether the meaning of being like a fixed screw or a key that unlocks a lock is good or bad. Or perhaps he mourned that his life now felt more like an instrument rather than a life.
Still, he found comfort in the fact that his mission and utility were to "save the world," which sounded more prestigious than a "plunger" unclogging a toilet?
So, could this also be why Teresa, Fisher’s woman from the Competitive Gate, would naturally die amidst reversed circumstances? Because her death was fated eighteen years ago, only fulfilled after Fisher came of age.
Fisher stood up somewhat despondently, turned to look in another direction, and noticed another unexplored room beyond this point.
"..."
After a moment’s silence, he finally stepped forward toward the next room.
Unlike the first two rooms that were bathed in light, the third room was very dim; a thick, lingering stench greeted Fisher as he entered.
Compared to the previous two rooms, this room was quite small and had no progression to a fourth room; clearly, this was the last hiding place of the Demi-human girl control.
He furrowed his brows, pacing a few steps on the sticky floor, and realized it wasn’t merely dim—the entire room was obscured by dried blood, preventing light from penetrating.
He lowered his head to take in the starkly different environment and quickly noted the twisted, square-shaped text; those words, engraved into the room walls, featured fragmented nails and flesh embedded in the indented marks, seeming like claw marks gouged by someone’s nails...
Was this left by the Demi-human girl control?
Witnessing the bizarre surroundings, Fisher moved forward to decipher the blurry text on the walls, beside which the floating Demi-human Girls Completion Manual timely began to shimmer with gold light, offering insightful explanations,
[Bone plague Chaos: Actually, I am also a Transferee]
Turning to look, Fisher suddenly noticed the gaps in the wall filled with hair stained with blood; on the floor, several pieces of skin had been removed whole, where many maggots now wriggled atop the unrotted flesh.
Further ahead, various severed limbs piled together, forming a small carcass mound about half a person’s height.
The shocking sight rendered Fisher speechless; he quickly recalled Holan’s description of how the Cardinal of Destiny alleviated cerebral chaos—she used a blade to slice away parts of her brain, thus prolonging her life.
From this perspective, if one wishes to prevent chaos from taking root and growing within, then one must resort to such measures, even the Demi-human girl control is no exception.
On the non-decaying flesh mound, a pair of fair hands with slightly long nails were embedded atop the mound, making a cupped gesture.
A twenty-centimeter-long wooden box rested atop the platform formed by the hands, with a piece of sheepskin paper on it.
Moving closer, the stench of blood assaulted his nose, stabbing his eyes shut, wishing he could use the Life Completion Manual’s power to shift his nose to the back of his head.
Yet he persevered, reaching out to retrieve the sheepskin paper, on which lines of frenzied Otherworld text still remained.
Fisher had to use the Demi-human Girls Completion Manual to translate it accurately,
"This person is lazy, leaving nothing behind... Oh wait, something was left indeed, found in the box below; it’s precious, please utilize it well. As for a closing remark, Rat doesn’t know what to say, just wishes you all the best!"
"..."
Fisher frustratedly placed the sheepskin scroll aside and looked at the antique wooden box before him, upon which another line of engraved Otherworld text appeared, and the Demi-human Girls Completion Manual translated once more for Fisher,
"Tidelands Rise in Qiantang River, today I know I am me."
The intricate meaning slowly seeped into Fisher’s heart, and he realized the language used by the Demi-human girl control indirectly expressed the complex significance within this being’s existence. Much like the flesh and severed limbs before him, perhaps Fisher couldn’t have imagined the shapeless Demi-human girl control enduring such torment before arriving here...
So, what does this sentence truly mean?
Was it directed toward the Demi-human girl control herself, or meant for Fisher, now standing before this box, having gained some insight into his own origins?
Perhaps, rather than the definite "Today I know I am me," the sentence Fisher saw seemed more like a question.
Questioning "Do you really know you are you?" or "Does the you that you know truly exist?"...
In the unspeakable silence, Fisher slowly reached out to slide the wooden box open bit by bit, revealing before his eyes was a sight as splendid as a golden starlit sky. In this moment, it was as though countless swirls of golden ocean instantly delved into Fisher’s eyes, yet due to his human instinct, he strove to identify the shape of the object before him...
But no matter what, the object before him resembled a tentacle—could it possibly be... um!!
As Fisher scrutinized the strange object before him, the tentacle suddenly came to life, swiftly writhing. The moment it moved, Fisher reacted, his Sixteenth Rank power just beginning to operate to evade, yet the tentacle moved incomparably fast, fiercely entangling his face and neck, thrashing him hard onto the ground.
Before his eyes, countless streaks of golden light shone, while amid the intangible golden brilliance, the vexing, ethereal text of the Demi-human Girls Completion Manual also instantly lit up, merging into a prompt.
[Congratulations on discovering the Easter Egg: Dragons beget Dragons, Phoenixes beget Phoenixes...]
[Contributor’s Note: The power named "Hidden" will allow you to see the dawn of hope amid despair, and this is my final gift to you, Fisher Benavides.]
The first sentence of the Easter Egg seemed incomplete, yet Fisher had utterly fallen into the golden ocean, devoid of the capacity to discern the missing parts...
Still, even if he racked his brains thinking, he would probably never know the missing part, would he?
Because it is "Hidden"—a secret known only to that Rat.
