Fisher obtains information about a restricted area from Milica, who offers to help him gain entry. He departs after reassuring her about a mutual acquaintance and teasing her about her math skills. Meanwhile, Fisher's companion, Emhardt, makes suggestive comments about Fisher's past and present relationships, leading to a brief physical scuffle before Fisher reaches his destination within the church.

This place, since he turned eighteen, he has often come and gone, but he used to enter through a different gate than the path leading to the Holy Maiden Chorus dormitory. Perhaps the Book Knight was right, he is indeed no longer the eighteen-year-old Fisher, at least back then he wouldn’t move so naturally in and out of the Holy Maiden dormitory.

Just looking at the place he hadn’t seen in a long time, he couldn’t help but take a deep breath, his expression becoming somewhat solemn.

It was the afternoon nap time, so there were no guards near the memorial hall, and he directly pushed open the door of the memorial hall, revealing the vast stone walls engraved with the names of sleepers, and the Mother Goddess statue at the center of those walls.

His footsteps involuntarily slowed down until the door behind him slowly closed. Emhardt, seeing no one around, slipped out from his embrace, adeptly stood on his right shoulder, and curiously surveyed the surroundings.

Arriving in front of a wall, and at the edge of that wall, on a small stone box, was engraved everything from before he was eighteen,

[Thank you for giving a home to the lonely me, even if you are gone and I am once again alone, you will forever be my family.]

[In memory of: Teresa Benavides, a great and devout nun.]

[Fisher Benavides]

This is the tombstone of Sister Teresa, the memorial place where she rests.

"Is this Teresa’s resting place?... Wait, didn’t we leave five years ago? Look, there’s a lot of burnt ashes under this stone box, could it be that aside from you, other orphans she raised came to visit her?"

Emhardt turned his head to question, and Fisher raised his eyebrows in surprise, shaking his head as he said,

"Everything about Teresa was handled by me. The tedious burial process by the church was something the other members of the Church School didn’t bother to participate in; they don’t even know where Teresa is resting... But there should be the priest’s eulogy records over there."

At last, still somewhat unsure, Fisher walked to the wooden table in front of the stele to check on the eulogy records kept by the duty priest. As part of the appointment, the prayers brought by family members of the deceased to be burnt should all be recorded.

Following the number of Teresa’s tombstone, Fisher quickly flipped through the record book. In the next moment, he opened his mouth, obviously surprised, even Emhardt blinked and immediately turned to look at him.

For in those records, the same name was clearly listed: Elizabeth Gedelin.

A month ago, one burnt eulogy; two months ago, two burnt eulogies; four months ago, one burnt eulogy...

Over time, even though this record book only documented this year’s events, it was evident that in the five years since Fisher left Nali, she had been coming here to burn eulogies for Teresa on his behalf.

Generally speaking, eulogies convey the wishes of the living to the deceased. While Fisher didn’t know what Elizabeth wrote for Teresa, perhaps it was just updating Teresa on his current situation or simply expressing Fisher’s yearning for Teresa...

But at least, all these years, she kept coming here fulfilling the duty Fisher neglected.

"...Okay, I must admit now, your fondness for Elizabeth back in the day may truly have nothing to do with the so-called demihuman bloodline."

Emhardt blinked and commented. Fisher then unwittingly looked up at the rows of tables and chairs in front of the Mother Goddess statue, where, in one particular spot far back in those chairs, one afternoon many years ago, had been the place where they first met.

"...Let’s go."

"Oh... oh, alright."

After a long silence, Fisher slowly closed the eulogy record book in front of him and reluctantly withdrew his gaze, turning to walk towards the unguarded underground area.

The underground crypt connected to the surface by just a passage isolated by a wooden door. After searching for quite some time, Fisher finally found the locked wooden door.

Gently extending his hand with a slight twist, the padlock fell onto the ground like pieces, revealing the somewhat chilly space below.

Fisher grasped Emhardt, who glanced back at Fisher with a dead-fish eye before silently floating up, shining with golden light like a floating little lantern illuminating the space below.

Below was more like a basement, with countless jars and bottles piled together on the dusty floor, clearly indicating that it had not been cleaned for a long time.

The surroundings were dry yet chilly. Emhardt glanced around but did not find any place that seemed like a hidden chamber; apart from ashes, there was nothing but ashes. He couldn’t help but shiver as he looked back and asked,

"Could it be a mistake? It’s so narrow and there’s nothing here... Besides, didn’t that human girl say this place was built later? Even if your predecessor left something, could it already have been dismantled?"

"Impossible, she is no ordinary person."

The demi-human girl control has lived for so long and chat with mythical species like Hooked kiss, Angel, and Elf, indicating her extraordinary abilities since she still survived in such controversial manner. It’s impossible for what she left to be dismantled by a group of human construction workers.

It’s only possible that they haven’t yet discovered the hidden chamber’s location.

But the issue was, Sidi mentioned needing to write and recite runes at the designated location to open the hidden chamber; however, here there was nothing but ashes, completely empty. Where should it be written?

Fisher’s mind circulated with the memorized rune writing and reciting methods. As he thought about it, he suddenly realized that the so-called "rune" was like a character used in the language of the demi-human girl control.

If not finding a place to write the rune for so long, it might very well be a riddle. And likely, the answer to the riddle lay in the meaning of this rune.

Though Fisher did not know the exact meaning of this rune, do not forget, his Demi-human Girls Completion Manual just acquired a brand-new function; it could translate the language used by the demi-human girl control.

With this thought, he promptly stretched out his hand to retrieve the Demi-human Girls Completion Manual tucked in his bosom. As he opened it, he twisted his fingers, letting drops of blood seep out as ink to write the symbol.

"Woman" "Horse".

He carefully and methodically wrote that angular symbol on the page of the Completion Manual. Then he softly began to pronounce the symbol’s phonetic sound,

"ma"

"Buzzing..."

In the next instant, on the page of the Demi-human Girls Completion Manual, the Chinese character written with Fisher’s blood began to twist, signifying that it did indeed refer to specific meaning, being translated by the Manual.

And finally, the blood-red text gradually transformed into language recognizable by Fisher in Nali, meaning:

"Mother"

Upon seeing the text, Fisher’s pupils slightly contracted. He furrowed his brow and incredulously expressed in Nali,

"Mother?"

"Rumble!"

As he spoke, directly in front of the underground crypt, something twisted by an eerie force revealed its actual form like a door hidden in obscurity, slowly emerging in front of Fisher’s eyes.
