The maidens return to Nali after a difficult journey, only to be immediately met by the stern Priest Kayu and reminded of their evening service duties. Milica, despite her privileged background as the Archbishop's daughter, chafes under the restrictions and the emotional distance from her parents, especially after secretly helping Isabella escape a forced marriage. Her companions worry about losing their maiden status, while Milica feels increasingly restless and misunderstood.

Since that’s the case, let’s just muddle through.

Milica thought so.

She pouted and returned to the upper level of the Great Cathedral with the Holy Maidens. The devout prayers of the surrounding faithful and the burning incense aroma lingered, as if turning into heavy chains, making the air become heavy.

Under the compassionate gaze of the Mother Goddess, Milica stretched lazily, feeling utterly bored.

Each Holy Maiden of the Holy Maiden Class had a private dormitory. By the time they reached the dormitory area, the luggage they had brought along was already placed at the door of their respective rooms.

"Well then, Milica, have a good rest, and after dinner, let’s gather again for the service, shall we?"

Her companion beside her seemed to notice Milica’s absent-mindedness, and lightly comforted her, awakening the distracted Milica. She promptly smiled and said to her companion,

"Alright, you too, have a good rest."

"Yes, see you later."

The Holy Maidens dispersed, returning to their rooms to rest. It was just the afternoon, and several hours remained before dinner. During this time, they could rest, take baths, and tidy up.

Milica dragged her somewhat heavy luggage back to her room. It was relatively spacious inside, equipped with a private bath and shower, and a magic water supply system, which made the conditions quite good.

She didn’t bother to unpack nor change clothes. She merely greeted the Mother Goddess Statue placed by the door before wearily dropping onto the soft bed and comfortably stretching her somewhat sore and weak limbs, moving like a swimmer, joyous and natural.

She took a deep breath, still feeling heavy but somewhat better than before.

Then, she finally lifted her head slightly to look towards the bedside table.

On it were a self-defense handgun, a magic dagger, and a photo frame.

In the photo frame were three young girls, smiling brightly at the camera.

In the middle stood the gentle and elegant blonde lady, Isabella. On her left, making a "V" gesture, was the carefree Milica, and on the right was the timid, busty girl, Moli.

This black-and-white photo was taken not long after they enrolled, a keepsake now placed in Milica’s room.

"..."

Lying listlessly on the bed, Milica stared at the photo until, in the next moment, she seemed to suddenly catch a glimpse of a very blurry shadow behind her, reflected in the sunlight slipping through the curtains.

"Who?!"

Her pupils slightly contracted, yet her movements were as quick as lightning. She swiftly reached for the handgun on the table, unlocking and turning in one swift motion, but the shadow’s movements were even quicker, surpassing human limits. In an instant, a strong hand clamped down on her wrist.

The terrifying strength instantly awakened Milica’s fear, causing her to involuntarily squeeze the trigger, but the figure before her seemed to anticipate this, using a finger to block the trigger from moving at all.

"Ugh!"

Milica struggled, appearing ready to resist further, when the man before her suddenly spoke softly,

"Milica, it’s me."

Hearing the familiar voice, Milica’s body momentarily froze. She then looked up in disbelief at the man in front of her, seeing a tall man in a suit, his black hair neatly styled, his black eyes spiritedly shining...

"Fisher... Mr. Fischer?! Is it you?!"

It was indeed Fisher Benavides, having reverted his appearance and infiltrated the cathedral.

Seeing she recognized him, Fisher gently released her hand from the gun, placing a finger to his lips, softly saying,

"Shh, be careful not to attract others..."

Yet Milica, looking at the man she had missed dearly, became extremely excited. She trembled, and in the next instant, to Fisher’s great shock, threw herself into his arms, hugging him tightly,

"Mr. Fischer! Is it really you?!"

"..."

At that moment, Fisher’s reaction was unknown, but Emhardt in his embrace, feeling the tangible hug, instantly turned into dead-fish eyes, inwardly repeating that phrase again,

"Oh, it’s your student again."
