Fisher learns about Queen Elizabeth's desire for a new Prince and the political implications of succession. He is then introduced to Keken's wife, Adina, who is revealed to be a shy Slime demi-human. Adina's unique nature and Keken's unconventional family life are briefly explored before they finally settle down to enjoy wine and conversation.

After Fisher tasted a few more cups of similar delicacies, the conversation gradually moved to the main topic. He glanced at the door through which Adina had just slipped away and asked,

"Is that previous Adina from the Frost Snow Phoenix Tree?"

Keken paused slightly, but then swallowed the half cup of wine in his glass and shook his head with a smile, explaining,

"No, she’s not, or strictly speaking, she’s not. Marrying her is not within the cooperation scope between the Baline Clan Leader and me."

"So, are you helping them with something?"

"I can’t hide it from you; indeed I am." Keken’s face turned slightly red as he explained, "The Wutong Chamber of Commerce was established with their resources. The channels and resources of those Slimes are beyond my imagination. Cooperation with them is enjoyable, at least more so than being at home. Over the years, I’ve earned a lot as an agent of the Wutong Chamber of Commerce. My tracks are everywhere, and my reputation and strength have even made my elders look at me in a new light..."

"Is there a corresponding price?"

"Price? Well, it depends on how you see it... For a businessman, there’s no price, only cost. My cost is a suitable proxy identity and a good head, which is exactly what they need. But occasionally, I also need to run errands for others, just like this time."

Keken poured more wine for both himself and Fisher and then sat up a bit, rubbing the edge of his glass as he looked at Fisher and said,

"I’ve heard from the Slimes about your deeds in the Northern Realm, the husband of the Phoenix, the discoverer of the Phoenix Tree, the extinguisher of the curse, the grave digger of the Turand Family... Indeed, gold will shine wherever it goes. However, your mysterious disappearance four and a half years ago has made the Baline Clan Leader quite concerned. Over the years, they’ve been particularly looking for your whereabouts, especially recently... The Phoenix has awakened, Mr. Fisher."

Valentina has indeed awakened.

Fisher was slightly taken aback and then looked at the crimson wine within his glass. Before he could respond, the slightly flushed Keken spoke again,

"Truly envious of you, having such legendary tales associated with you: Queen Elizabeth, the legendary Phoenix, even the Dragon Queen of the Dragon Court. As for me, I seem to have no destiny with the term ’great figure’. But perhaps what my father said was right; at certain times in life, one’s pursuits might change... For instance, now I feel it’s quite good."

"....."

While Keken was sighing, voices of conversation came from upstairs, female voices,

"What’s going on, Adina, is something happening downstairs? Honey, are you downstairs?"

"I’m here, Dora, Mr. Fisher is here too... the Mr. Fisher Benavides we met once before..."

"Are you drinking again? Isn’t your tolerance bad? Also, what’s going on outside? Why is the sky so red?"

"I don’t know either."

Fisher looked up and saw Keken’s three wives, with the one named "Dora" supporting the shy Adina who had just run away, looking quite harmonious and showing concern for her.

Although it looked nice, Fisher found it hard to imagine the women he knew getting along so harmoniously together.

Elizabeth smilingly supporting Rafael, Valentina and Moli chatting agreeably, Helair smiling at Renie, Alagina and Elliog kindly staying together, watching Tangze Asuka’s magic teaching next to them?

No, perhaps in the next second, a room-destroying, world-obliterating second Mythical War might break out, resulting in many deaths...

Cold sweat dripped from Fisher’s forehead, and he dared not even imagine it, so he quickly rubbed his temple and interrupted Keken, asking,

"So, you came this time to gather my information for the Northern Realm, right?"

"Ah, there is a consideration for that, but it’s not the main reason. After all, you had completely disappeared before, and neither I nor the Slimes could guarantee finding you. So, essentially, this time was more about conducting some trade with the Dragon Court."

"What was the information you mentioned earlier related to me? Are you going to tell the Dragon Queen about my relationship with the Phoenix?"

"I wouldn’t dare. The Slimes wouldn’t dare to tell the Phoenix about these things..." Keken waved his hand helplessly, seemingly with a slight understanding of the terrifying chaotic scene Fisher faced. He also reached out to take a newspaper from the side and handed it to Fisher, "What I originally wanted to talk about was something else, now that you’re here. This matter shouldn’t be so important to the Dragon Queen, but at the time for you..."

Fisher was slightly taken aback as he took the newspaper, which appeared to be last week’s Nali Daily. The first thing that caught his eye was a big headline,

"A Heavy Tribute to the Century Great Wizard, Mr. Helson Laczette"

Fisher’s pupils slightly contracted as he immediately sat up straight and spread out the newspaper, reading the words below word by word,

"In the early hours of July 19th, Elizabeth I year 5, Nali Royal College’s specially appointed Mage, President of the Nali Magic Society, World Magic Association full member, century great wizard, former dean of Nali Royal Academy’s Magic Academy, the retired legendary wizard Mr. Helson Laczette passed away due to a heart attack at his estate on the outskirts of Chittel City, in the northern part of Nali. He was 104 years old.

"Looking back on Mr. Helson’s life, it was the most glorious and legendary life. From the age of nineteen..."

Fisher couldn’t believe it as he read the entire article word by word until the last few lines,

"The Nali Magic Society flew the flag at half-mast, and the World Magic Association decided to designate July 19 each year as ’Magic Revival Day’ and established the ’Helson Award Foundation’ to commemorate the contributions and achievements of this century’s magical giant during his lifetime. As a junior and student of Mr. Laczette at the Royal Academy, Queen Elizabeth expressed profound condolences after learning of the news on the morning of July 19th and stated she would personally attend Mr. Laczette’s funeral on August 1st..."

Fisher clenched the newspaper little by little, unable to put it down after reading the last line, only staring at the black-and-white photo of Mr. Helsen within.

Keken lightly coughed and sighed as he said,

"I’m really sorry, Mr. Fisher, this happened last week, and it’s already spread across the Western Continent... I understand, as Mage Helsen’s one and only apprentice, your bond with him wasn’t just any typical teacher-student relationship."

Fisher’s expression was grave, and only after several seconds was he able to carefully place the newspaper back on the table.

He took a deep breath, glanced up at the calendar placed by Keken on a side cabinet, and realized today was July 26th, with five full days until the first of August.

After a moment of silence, he turned his head to Keken and suddenly spoke,

"...I need to return to Nali, to attend Mr. Helsen’s funeral."
