Fisher is killed by Agares's scheme, only for Agares to be attacked by Elliog. Agares reveals that Elliog is in a weakened state, but Fisher is still alive. Barbatos then proposes a deal to Elliog, offering Fisher's freedom after they seize a Blessing from the Dragon-man Species.

"Why wouldn’t I, Elliog?"

Faced with Barbatos’s question, Elliog’s refusal came decisively; she just shook her head and said,

"Compared to that so-called Dragon-man, Paimon is the real thorn in my side, the real pain in my flesh, aw. Just thinking about going along with her makes my whole body uncomfortable... And it also really surprised me that you actually believe Paimon’s bullshit so firmly.

"She never actually let you out. She only used a base formed from the Northern Phoenix’s Spirit Realm Pollution to temporarily wrench you free from that Fake God’s Sealing. In essence, you never once truly escaped the cage, from beginning to end. Let alone that so-called Fermat Baha’s Blessing... She’s using you to help her accomplish some goal, and you’re still helping her scheme even after being sold out, and you’re using that to persuade me?"

The same words coming from Fisher’s mouth, Barbatos and Agares clearly half-believed, half-doubted, but now that Elliog said them, they also fell into a brief silence.

Behind them, Fisher, clutching his wounded body, slowly sat up. He lowered his head to look at the blood in his hand, feeling his wound rapidly knitting back together, while the whispering at his ears grew thicker and thicker.

But he still forced himself to his feet and went to stand beside Elliog, who was facing off against the two Demon Gods, while his attention was fixed at all times on what lay behind them, the domain within the Seeking Knowledge Gate.

He was waiting for Moli and Death to speed up and completely break the Barrier of Helair’s Sealing base.

Agares, after thinking for a moment at these words, shook her head. She quickly smiled and said,

"Sounds so convincing, but I think... Elliog, have you maybe been tricked by this silver-tongued Human in front of you?"

"?"

Ignoring Elliog’s puzzled look, Agares took a step forward and raised a fist toward Elliog, and the eyes hidden beneath her glasses seemed to erupt with blazing Fire Pillars,

"We do know that Paimon used a base to let us out, and we also know Paimon might be using us to accomplish something, but there is one thing we can be sure of: it was indeed Paimon who shattered the Sealing on us... You should know how strong my adaptability to new powers is. That’s the only reason I could understand Tao that lunatic’s Chaotic Power in such a short time. So I’ve also studied that Fake God’s Sealing very deeply...

"I can now be sure that the Sealing on me and Barbatos has completely vanished. In other words, we are completely free now."

Having said that, Agares let out a mocking laugh, raised her hand to point at Fisher beside Elliog, and continued,

"Of course the base’s power isn’t complete yet, that’s why it could only let the two of us out. That’s why we need that Dragon-man Species’ Blessing, which rivals that of a True God, to liberate our entire race. Elliog, this Human is just cornered, so he’s making up lies to gain your support. He has a complicated relationship with Paimon, so he certainly knows how to provoke your Competitive nature. That’s why he came to you with Paimon’s Seal on him, to make you fight Paimon for his sake. He was never thinking about you; from start to finish, all he ever thought about was that Dragon-man woman of his...

"Let me ask you this: if you help him like this, what ending do you think we’ll end up with? He’s a Human, a traitor living in an age where Myth is withering away. Without us, he could easily use this chaotic Myth power to do whatever he wants here. Take you, for example—what can you do in your current state of soul out of body? I’m the one who’s your friend, I’m the one who wants to help you break free from the cage. When that time comes, what can you not do if you want it?

"Don’t just talk about how this scheming piece-of-trash man tricking you has been seen through by me now. Even if by then you still like him, I’m still willing to help you fight Paimon. The women around him—aside from Paimon and that Destructive God’s daughter, who need a bit of attention—but now that Destructive God is hiding on the Sea Floor and won’t come out, probably because her old wounds haven’t healed yet. Once our whole race emerges, what can she even do?! When that time comes, I’ll tie him up and hand him to you, so you can play with him every day if you want!"

Barbatos glanced at Agares, perhaps wanting to say, "Don’t drag me into your bragging." That Destructive God had merely stopped coming out of the Ocean, not died.

Fisher also blinked, not understanding why Agares would use such extreme malice to interpret his motives.

Even though they were enemies, they shouldn’t have seen much of each other or known each other well. How did it become, in your mouth, Agares, that I, Fisher, am such a scumbag who uses women at any cost?

But now was not the time to care about his own reputation or to fight Agares’s slander. What he really cared about was the point Agares mentioned—"they have truly escaped the Sealing."

This intel was something the Cardinal of Destiny had told Fisher, and she had an extremely deep understanding of the Mother Goddess’s power. That was why she was so certain when she said a base could not possibly help them escape the Sealing.

The odds of her lying to Fisher were very small. Her relationship with Tangze Asuka was unusual, and she already knew of the connection between Fisher and Tangze Asuka, and still needed him to help find Asuka. How could she tell some puzzling lie at a time like this?

So, could it be that this figure from the same era as Tangze Asuka—a first-generation Transferee who has lived to this day without dying—actually misjudged the Mother Goddess’s Sealing?
