Heidlin cleans Valentina's room and discovers a mysterious, sinister peach blossom that whispers terrifying curses until Heidlin silences it. Meanwhile, Valentina learns that Master Tao, the Phoenix King, can be nurtured by sunlight and water, and a peach blossom manifestation appears on her head. She arrives at the meeting hall and overhears a conversation about mysterious items called Cardinals.

"Buzz, buzz, buzz!"

The treasure sword on the throne, silent for a thousand years, began to tremble uncontrollably, even the area at the back of Captain Alagina’s neck, seated at the newly added table under the throne, started to emit a glow, as if attracted by the presence before her.

Among those present, first was the Slime King Baline, seated not too far to the left side of the table. He was too large to sit properly, even the Phoenix’s throne was too small for him, so he sucked on a pacifier, rubbing his big belly and listening to others speak.

Next were the seated ones: Snow Fox Clan Patriarch Dal, Grey Bird Species Clan Leader Hamilia, and Giant Troll Elder Dalilulu.

On the right was Alagina’s entourage, with Captain Alagina herself clutching her heavily bandaged right hand, Chief Officer Pahetz, Second Officer Grey Bird Species Ossie, and... well, a rather wild yet still beautiful Nali person?

On the table were several bizarre yet aesthetically pleasing... machines, which appeared to be the object of their earlier study.

Upon seeing Valentina enter, the clan leaders on the left stood up, and after a brief scrutiny, respectfully bowed, even Baline, who couldn’t stand, unraveled the Slime crown entwined by his tentacles, and slightly bowed his head to her,

"Lord Phoenix..."

Following those words, everyone on the right also looked at Valentina, eager to witness the true appearance of this legendary race.

"Hey, isn’t this the Turand Family’s..."

Even though Valentina’s appearance had undergone a drastic transformation, her facial changes remained recognizable to some extent.

Pahetz recognized Valentina’s identity at a glance, having encountered her in the Southern Ocean before, and being robbed of a scroll by her and her hired people.

But just as she started to speak, Captain Alagina raised her bandaged right hand to interrupt what she was about to say.

She simply looked quietly at this Phoenix, inexplicably feeling a very special connection to the person before her... perhaps not a positive one? Alagina couldn’t quite tell.

She stood up with her companions, as the clan leaders did, and politely bowed to her,

"Miss Valentina, it is an honor to see you again after such a long time."

At this moment, Valentina’s height was already about the same as Alagina’s, even somewhat taller than Fisher, so she regarded Alagina eye to eye, contrasting her previous seated perspective from the wheelchair.

Truth be told, Alagina had a special feeling toward Valentina, and Valentina undoubtedly felt the same towards her, but with greater clarity.

To note, when Valentina first met Fisher, she even suspected Fisher to be Alagina’s lover, otherwise it would be inexplicable why a man was able to stay so well on a ship full of female Sardinians.

Although later Fisher married her, Alagina, the Iceberg Queen, and the Nali’s Golden Empress still left a thorn in her side. Meeting again now, she didn’t know what to say.

Could it be that she and Fisher were still entwined?

But I am his wife! If you act like this, isn’t it overstepping?

As she felt her pensive mood, Master Tao mentally took a peek at the current situation, and speculated,

"Meeting your dead husband’s lover so soon? That’s quite a fast pace..."

"She’s not Fisher’s lover."

"You say it is or isn’t, after all, you’re his wife and have the authority."

"..."

Valentina took a deep breath; she still didn’t know the situation from the past four years, nor the exact relationship between Alagina and Fisher. Moreover, it seemed Alagina had just rescued her from beside the World Tree Root, evidenced by her bandaged arm...

She recalled Master Tao’s reminder, though it didn’t seem applicable now, she indeed couldn’t rush.

Valentina quelled the wave of emotions within her heart, reluctantly moved her gaze away from Alagina, and looked at the clan leaders nearby.

Besides Dal and Dalilulu, who already knew Valentina and just smiled at her, the other two clans introduced themselves,

"Lord Phoenix, I am Hamilia of the Grey Bird Species from Sardinia Female Country, committed under Phoenix’s glory to lead the remaining brethren back to Wutong Tree’s homeland. Today, witnessing the true face of the Phoenix is a grateful excitement and I am willing to serve as a loyal subject..."

"Hello, Little Phoenix. I am Baline, the current Clan Leader of the Slime Species. Though we haven’t met before, we have a connection... That Slime Seal was taken from my Boundary by Mr. Fisher for you."

Baline’s baby-faced cute smile was palpable, sucking on his pacifier, each word and phrase seemed to contain certain implications.

Upon hearing the word "Fisher," Valentina and Alagina’s gaze instantly... simultaneously fell on Baline, yet the following phrase "for you," singularly added a somewhat ambiguous tint to Alagina’s expression.

She couldn’t help but glance at this radiant Phoenix, her gaze flickering with some darkness...

"Hello, Clan Leader Baline, my husband Fisher and I are grateful for your assistance..."

Alagina was slightly taken aback, her bandaged hand suddenly tightening, and her gaze inadvertently filled with incredulity, she quickly looked at Valentina to confirm.

And beside her, Pahetz slapped the table with a "thud," incomprehensibly shocked, she looked at Valentina then at Alagina, exclaiming,

"Dang it, Captain, how did rescuing a Phoenix end up with your man gone?! What’s the logic here?"

"Wait, Pahetz..."

Alagina’s trembling eyes raised her hand, attempting to halt Pahetz’s words, yet she didn’t stop, still staring at Valentina, questioning once more,

"Miss Valentina, what did you just say...?"

Valentina looked at her seemingly confused, yet her gaze carried an undeniable certainty.

She glanced at Dalilulu and the clan leaders beside her, then addressed Alagina,

"I said, Fisher is my husband... we even married under Elder Dalilulu’s witness, we are spouses in essence... Right, Elder Dalilulu?"

Alagina promptly turned to Dalilulu, slightly caught off guard, she hadn’t realized what had transpired. Evidently, it was merely a discussion with a captain seeking asylum at Wutong Tree on world affairs and the Cardinal’s meeting, how suddenly the topic shifted to this.

"Uh, this... well..."

It was clear for all to see, the relationship between Lord Phoenix and Captain Alagina was somewhat delicate, delicacy that stemmed from the man named "Fisher" mentioned by Baline...

God help her, she was merely a female troll with a husband, although of the same gender as Valentina and Alagina, trolls inherent Yin Yang Inversion nature meant Dalilulu’s and Alagina’s perspectives aligned closely.

This meant, from Dalilulu’s perspective, what she was about to say might be harsh on Alagina...

She glanced at Phoenix beside her, then at the stunned Alagina, ultimately decided to be forthright, sharing all she knew.

Hence, Dalilulu nodded, saying,

"Uh, according to the Moon Princess’s decree... Valentina indeed married Fisher in a Holy Marriage, they are spouses."

"Boom!"

This statement, akin to a clap of thunder, descended from the sky, piercing through Alagina’s soul.
