Demi-human Girls Completion Manual Chapter 1397 - 40: Awakening of the Ice Phoenix (Part 2)

"Phoenix..."
Isabella’s expression was somewhat hesitant; she didn’t know whether to believe such an elusive legend.
Now, the entire Northern Realm was buzzing with tales that the legendary Frost Phoenix had reincarnated and reappeared in the Sema Snow Mountain, poised to reclaim the Northern Realm and cast it under the shadow of her wings. But could such a conclusion be drawn just from the migration of those demi-humans or the existence of trolls at the Sema Snow Mountain’s summit?
Isabella didn’t know but remained silent, quietly supporting Alagina as they led the remaining crew of the Iceberg Queen closer to the front.
Although these female trolls appeared dull-witted, they were surprisingly honest and straightforward, because before long, a different vista indeed unfolded before their eyes.
"Look, we’ve arrived..."
Upon hearing the troll’s muffled voice, Isabella unconsciously looked up in front of her. To her amazement, they had unknowingly passed through the previous spatial turbulence, and with the shift in space, the scene ahead had drastically transformed.
At the edge of the gradually flattening snowfield, there lay a gigantic, towering tower. Its dazzling brilliance was rarely seen in the world, and it was precisely the legendary Ice.
The miraculous light of Ice extended downward from the sky, spreading over the snowfield they tread upon. It was only now that Isabella realized they were standing on ground made of Ice...
"Is that... the Frost Snow Phoenix Tree?"
The majestic tower seemed to grow downward from the sky, aiming at the earth, and before it, numerous statues of living creatures, some long vanished and others still present, knelt devoutly, recording the former glory of this place.
But what caught Isabella’s attention more was the open gate of the Frost Snow Phoenix Tree, revealing inside many Troll Species and Snow Fox Species.
"Squawk!"
Just then, a shadow clad in a simple robe like theirs quickly flew towards them from above, accompanied by a colorful parrot with tattered feathers beating its wings.
"Sister Ossie!"
It was a Grey Bird Species; she landed among them upon seeing the crowd below, shaking her unwithdrawn wings to shed the wind and snow clinging to them.
Behind her, Chief Officer Pahetz, looking much leaner than before, hurriedly stepped forward to question Ossie,
"So, what did those slimes say?"
Ossie glanced at Pahetz, pondered for a moment, and then replied,
"...They said... they are still considering."
"What?! Still considering? What if they refuse? We’ve fought tooth and nail to get here according to their instructions. If they refuse, what should we do? Return all the way back?"
Ossie was annoyed by Pahetz’s loud voice, and she raised her feather-covered wings to rub her ears, hidden in her white long hair, before explaining,
"It’s not that they ignore our request... but rather they have... more important matters to attend to."
"To attend to! To attend to!"
The parrot with missing feathers but seemingly unfazed nodded repeatedly, echoing the sentiment.
Pahetz glanced behind her; the trolls who escorted them had all left, seemingly to rest somewhere, with no one coming to greet them, as if leaving them to fend for themselves.
Recalling this, Pahetz was filled with anger. She crossed her arms, looking at Ossie along with the imposing Frost Snow Phoenix Tree behind her, and spat onto the snow beside her, swearing,
"Damn it, these damn slime bastards. Not only are they aristocrats, but they demand so much, refusing to teleport us without full payment, forcing us to travel this far! Alagina is injured! If I hadn’t sent you ahead to check things out, would we be left hanging here for days to get an answer? Damn it, what are these hidden Six Snow Mountain Tribes busy with all day, are they going to war with Nali too?"
Isabella helplessly stretched her hand trying to prevent Pahetz from cursing at someone’s doorstep, since they had come here seeking help, but found no opportunity to speak, so she turned to look at Old Jack cuddling three Mouse Ladies for warmth, who simply shook his head, indicating helplessness.
"Pah... hetz..."
It was the weakened Alagina who softly spoke, halting their Chief Officer’s disrespectful behavior.
Pahetz fell silent, but her expression remained sour, as she angrily watched the female trolls around them lying carelessly in the icy fields, seemingly unfazed.
Ossie sighed, glancing at the Frost Snow Phoenix Tree behind her, explained,
"I... also have no choice... It seems they say... the Phoenix is about to awaken, so everyone is very tense..."
Pahetz’s angry expression faltered as she heard Ossie’s words, including everyone behind her, especially the Sardinia females, who couldn’t believe what they heard, turning to Ossie,
"No... what did you say? Phoenix? They really have a Phoenix here? Have you seen it?"
"...No, but it’s highly likely to be true. I’ve been inside and seen the decorations... They truly depict the residence of past Phoenixes... this is the Frost Snow Phoenix Tree..."
