Demi-human Girls Completion Manual Chapter 1368 - 31: True and False Prophecy (Part 4)

"...It’s not that I believe I’m the lynchpin; I’ve never seen myself as special or the one destined to save the world. Instead, I find myself with no alternative but to act. Even if the Doomsday Prophecy I foresaw is a fabrication, the prophecy itself undeniably exists and impacts those I hold dear, individuals who cannot evade its grasp. How could I possibly stand aside?"
"Even so, aren’t you concerned you might lose control again, as you did today, constantly teetering on the brink of collapse?"
Observing Renie’s anxious expression, Fisher eventually inclined his head and responded,
"Even so."
"...Is this because of Rafael and Moli?"
This question was, in truth, more of an assertion. As formidable as Renie was, she had already grasped the nature of Fisher’s connection with those Ladies; she could intuit Fisher’s sentiments without needing to guess.
However, to Fisher’s surprise, this statement carried not an ounce of jealousy, but rather a subtle undertone of melancholy.
"It’s also because of you, Renie. The latter portion of the Doomsday Prophecy specifically mentions the ‘Undead Witch,’ which is precisely why I sought you out in Schwali. At that time, my curiosity about the Doomsday Prophecy was piqued, but I was entirely unaware of its true gravity..."
Renie remained quiet, intending to add more, but Fisher interjected,
"Very well, Renie. We’ve only just reunited. Are you truly set on transforming this reconciliation into a pointless argument... Though, I admit, our encounter in the Northern Realm last time was rather abrupt. Given that you hail from the Spirit Realm, your appearance anywhere is plausible. Regarding the perusal of the Completion Manual, I shall proceed with caution and give it further consideration."
Renie exhaled a prolonged sigh, evidently reluctant to prolong the disagreement with Fisher.
Having shared so much time together; despite Renie’s prolonged concealment of her true identity from Fisher, she found herself able to openly reveal her genuine nature to him because of their bond.
Beyond their distinct backgrounds, they possessed a profound mutual understanding, enabling them to perceive the underlying meaning in each other’s words rather than engaging in futile bickering born from misinterpretations.
Renie pouted, then lightly tapped Fisher’s chest with her small fist, remarking,
"Ha! After all, our esteemed Fisher is so incredibly capable that even the Angels from the Holy Land would offer you their unwavering support and cherish your memory from eternity past to eternity future. In stark contrast, here stands I—a Witch who patiently awaited your return for merely four and a half years—pray, excuse me, oh revered Fisher of the Holy Land..."
These barbed words clearly betrayed her lingering irritation at Fisher’s prior mention of Helair.
"Renie..."
"Hmph! Cease your attempts at argumentation. The next time we are together, you would be wise not to utter the name of any other female—I am feeling rather possessive."
"Wait, didn’t you previously state..."
"That was the Renie of four and a half years ago. My feelings have evolved—no mentions, absolutely no mentions, no mentions..."
"Understood."
Fisher offered a wry smile and shook his head. Emhardt, observing from the sidelines, appeared poised to ‘resolutely implement Lady Renie’s strategy for new isolation challenges.’ He had long ago pledged his allegiance to Lady Renie, becoming a staunch member of the ‘Renie Faction against the Bayemon Alliance.’
With Fisher’s acquiescence, Renie, who had been exhibiting a somewhat petulant demeanor, finally rose with a soft hum. Her form began to dematerialize, bit by bit, a phenomenon familiar from past experiences.
"I shall procure some attire for you first; your current state is decidedly immodest. Wait here for a moment..."
As Renie departed, she cast a final glance back at Fisher, adding after a brief pause,
"Furthermore... regarding the matter we were just discussing, I am quite serious. Give it some thought... Entrust it to me and those Divines..."
"We have already devised a solution for the Doomsday Prophecy."
The moment her words concluded, she vanished from her position, setting a course for the Dragon Court.
