Demi-human Girls Completion Manual Chapter 1349 - 26: Paimon’s Whereabouts (Part 3)
Previously on Demi-human Girls Completion Manual...
A tidal wave of emotion flooded the confined space, stealing their breath and halting their hearts.
"Found you."
The man's gaze swiftly landed on the two Demon Servants positioned by the dock. A slight raise of his brow followed as he observed their vastly contrasting reactions.
The demeanor of the Demon on the shore shifted dramatically. Despite its evident fear, it lifted the appendage behind it, poised as if prepared to face Fisher in a final, desperate stand.
Meanwhile, the one aboard the vessel...
Hesitantly, it began to paddle with all its might, an urgent attempt to flee the confines of the shipyard.
"For the Demon Dynasty!"
"..."
As the vociferous Demon charged towards him, Fisher's right hand began a slow descent. A closer examination revealed the soul's control over the body's grotesque transformation, a ravenous hunger emanating from its twisted essence.
"Devour their souls!"
Fisher's expression turned frigid, a being akin to dark mud confronting a colossal, impassive dragon, ready to obliterate all in its path.
Yet, a flicker of surprise registered in the next second. His contorted arm snapped back to its human form, and with a casual flick, he sent the Demon, now mere inches away, crashing into the ground before him.
"Boom!"
The resounding impact from behind sent a shiver through the fleeing Demon. It paddled faster, its escape towards the shipyard's entrance intensifying.
However, the gate, long disused, refused to budge. Even with the concerted effort of its half-formed demonic face, the colossal entrance remained sealed.
As lower-tier Demon Servants, their rank hovered around the Eighth Rank. While superior to the Humanoid Rank, they were still significantly outmatched by the Mythical Rank Fisher, positioning them far below even Fifth Rank Little Demons.
Lilim's half-formed face drained of color. The profound silence that followed the deafening noise behind her instilled a chilling dread, yet she dared not glance back.
"Need a hand?"
The male voice, appearing directly beside her ear, plunged her into utter despair.
Trembling, she turned. As expected, Fisher had silently approached, carrying the grievously wounded Laram onto her small boat.
A wave of terror washed over her, causing her to collapse onto her knees in submission.
"Please, I beg you... spare my life... I... I am Nali's Demon..."
"..."
What in the seven hells was 'Nali's Demon'?
Fisher, lacking any comprehension, simply deposited the battered Cocum beside her and stated,
"I ask questions. You provide answers."
"Of course, of course! I'll answer everything truthfully!"
A glimmer of hope lit Lilim's visible eye. She straightened her posture on the boat, assuming an almost reverent stance, as if she had undergone a profound conversion.
"Lilim..."
Cocum, still prone on the ground, managed a cough, gazing at Lilim with her remaining eye. "You... traitor..."
Ignoring Cocum, Lilim maintained her ingratiating smile towards Fisher. Simultaneously, she grasped the oar lying nearby on the deck and brought it down with immense force upon her own head.
"Thud!"
Another solid impact rendered Cocum instantly unconscious, leaving her motionless.
"Please, my esteemed Human, I... I will speak without reservation."
Emhardt, nestled securely in Fisher's embrace, offered a sardonic curl of his lips. "Indeed, Nali's Demon. I must admit, she displays a purity exceeding even those within the Demon Dynasty."
Fisher narrowed his gaze at Lilim, then posed his next inquiry:
"Within Nali's current forces, how many Mythical Ranked Demon Species are present?"
"There are two, serving as Chief of Staff Agares, ah, yes, Agares, and General Barbatos."
It appeared Fisher's prior suspicion was accurate; two Demon Species had indeed achieved awakening. The relief that only two had emerged was palpable; any more would have presented an overwhelming challenge.
"How did their awakening occur?"
"I... I am uncertain myself. Long ago, the Demon Gods were confined within the Dynasty. From my birth, I roamed the human world after departing the Dynasty's fiery pool. Naturally, numerous Demon Servants and Little Demons remained near that pool..."
Lilim swallowed hard, continuing her explanation to Fisher.
"I, like Nali and Schwali before me, remained dormant in the human realms, living for centuries and constantly relocating. Periodically, during my duties, I would absorb minute traces of Fallen Self...
"However, just... um, four years ago, a sudden edict arrived from the Demon Gods dwelling within the Dynasty. Against the might of the powerful Demon Gods, we had no recourse but to answer the summons and return to the Demon Dynasty..."
"For reasons yet unknown, the two Demon Gods, Agares and Barbatos, broke free from their bindings. They recalled most Demon Servants to the surface. Yet, instead of attacking other races or absorbing Fallen Self, they entered a state of hibernation, infiltrating Nali’s army, remaining so until this very day..."
It appeared that even the Demon Servants lacked insight into their superiors' true intentions.
Fisher mused for a moment before directing another question:
"Earlier, you mentioned receiving the 'Blessing' from Agares. Does this relate to those of flesh and blood?"
"It's true... If not for Agares' Blessing, we would have perished when our heads were crushed. How could we still be alive?" Lilim reached up and touched the tattered remnant of her face, speaking with a sigh.
