Demi-human Girls Completion Manual Chapter 1337 - 23: Moli
Previously on Demi-human Girls Completion Manual...
"Fisher, she is just up ahead..."
After Mier delivered the message, Fisher accompanied her to another chamber within the Prayer Tower. Since the Prayer Tower lacked specialized demi-human physicians, and considering Ingrid’s delicate status, Moli was personally attending to her treatment.
"According to Lady Moli, that human lady’s physical condition is no longer critical. However, her soul has experienced some form of shock. The exact reason remains unclear, but it might be linked to those... demons?"
Mier had not been present at the earlier coastal confrontation and thus was unaware of the finer details of the situation. Consequently, she could only relay Moli’s exact words to Fisher.
Fisher offered a slight nod, remaining silent. He considered that Ingrid’s soul shock might indeed be connected to him, but clarity on the specific circumstances would only come after he saw her himself.
Emhardt, perched on Fisher’s shoulder, peered intently and with apprehension toward the front. He cautiously scanned everyone in the vicinity, even harboring suspicions that Mier might be Helair in disguise. With every individual he noticed, he would quietly remark to Fisher,
"Look, Fisher, doesn’t that person resemble Paimon? Hmm, and that one looks a bit like..."
"..."
Fisher soon reached the entrance to Ingrid’s room. Pushing the door open, he revealed a sunlit, yet not overly large, interior. The room was furnished simply, containing only a single bed at its center. Upon it lay Ingrid, her face pale and etched with pain.
As the door swung open, Ingrid reacted by sitting up abruptly. She pulled a portion of the blanket over her face, trembling as she observed Fisher and his companions at the doorway,
"Un... Uncle?"
Ingrid paused for a moment before tentatively speaking Fisher’s name. Fisher returned her gaze with a nod, his expression unreadable. Emhardt, beside him, watched with caution,
"Not calling me hubby anymore?"
Hearing this, Ingrid’s complexion shifted from pale to a blush of white and pink. She pouted and, after glancing at Fisher, grumbled,
"Uncle, you know I was forced... Although you do have a rather pleasing appearance, exude significant power, and possess a good disposition, you are too inhuman for my taste… and it feels like being with you always attracts a great deal of trouble... Those two demi-humans from before absolutely terrified me; they were practically itching to take my life, you understand?!"
Well, you certainly are discerning.
Fisher offered a faint smile, choosing not to prolong the exchange. However, following his lighthearted jab, Ingrid appeared to be in a somewhat improved state, less withdrawn than before.
Observing her slight recovery, Fisher moved directly to the matter at hand,
"Earlier, after we parted ways, you were apprehended by Nali’s forces, is that correct? Did you encounter the ‘Barbatos’ General?"
"Yes! Uncle, I did see him... And not only that General, but there was another... a Chief of Staff? His name was... Agares... They were all incredibly frightening... They had those three individuals escort me to the Dragon Court, claiming they wished to film something, but it was actually a ruse to deliver a message to you..."
"Aside from those two, were there any other ‘individuals’ who instilled fear in you?"
"Besides those two... I believe there was a high-ranking Imperial Court Official named Dianne. I’m uncertain if she is allied with Nali... However, it seemed... that Court Official was not frightening at all and appeared to be oblivious to the specifics of this situation, so..."
Still uncertain about the Court Official’s affiliation...
Even setting aside the Court Official for the moment, Fisher’s prior assessment held true. Conservatively speaking, he still had to contend with two Demon Lords of the Eighteenth Rank.
"I understand... So, why are you so frightened now? What is it that you witnessed?"
"I saw it! I truly saw it!"
Upon hearing this, Ingrid’s delicate face turned ashen. She frantically shook her head, urgently addressing Fisher,
"You... those two individuals who accompanied me are not yet deceased... They possess some form of... Duke’s Blessing, which has rendered them bizarre; they continue to move even after being decapitated... I have no idea where they fled to; they now resemble nothing more than a grotesque mass of flesh and blood... Ah, and there’s more! There is indeed more!"
As a recollection surfaced, Ingrid suddenly seemed to remember something, relaying it to Fisher,
"Just now, I had the... Dragon-man convey this to you! When that ritual commenced, I observed a colossal pillar of fire... However, this pillar of fire was contained. Initially, the ritual was intended to directly summon that terrifying entity... Agares, but for some reason, a peculiar blonde woman interceded and altered the summoning. I glimpsed her shadow near the fire pillar... She identified herself as ‘Paimon’ and stated she had a message for Fisher."
"Paimon! Fisher, quickly cover your ears!! Do not allow yourself to be ensnared by her words, or you will undoubtedly fall under her sway! Hurry, everyone, cover your ears!"
Emhardt swiftly flew onto Fisher’s head, unfurling his book and attempting to use it as earmuffs to shield Fisher’s ears. Nevertheless, due to the book’s design, his efforts proved futile. Fisher, with a sigh of exasperation, gently removed him, obviously disregarding his counsel.
He casually glanced towards Ingrid, a brief hesitation preceding his inquiry,
"What exactly did she... impart to you?"
Ingrid took a deep breath, her voice trembling slightly as she addressed Fisher,
