Demi-human Girls Completion Manual Chapter 1326 - 19: Punishment 5
"What do you mean?"
"I mean, this war isn’t merely a contest between you and Nali; there are other factions involved, individuals beyond your capacity to handle."
"Knock, knock, knock!"
Rafael paused, taken aback. Just as she was about to press for more details, a series of rapid knocks echoed from the door.
She swiftly released Fisher, then turned her head, concealing her tear-streaked and noticeably reddened face as she presented her back to the entrance.
Subsequently, she moved to retrieve the cloak she had discarded earlier. As she distanced herself from Fisher, the scales that had been lying flat against her skin immediately began to bristle.
Her tail gave a slight twitch, gathering momentum like a steam engine fired with coal. Only then did she address the person outside the door,
"Come in!"
Fisher straightened his attire, covering the spot where Rafael’s Dragon Tooth had left its mark.
"Creak!"
The door swung inward, revealing a panting Yellow-Scaled Dragon-man standing at the threshold. He wore the beige robes of a Dragon Court official and glasses that appeared to be a sophisticated creation of Nali, imbuing him with an air of intellectual gravitas.
Fisher recognized the visitor instantly. Who else could it be but Mier, after such a long separation?
"Mier."
"Lord Fisher, you are indeed here. I just overheard Fasher and Kexier discussing your arrival, and Lady Moli…"
Upon seeing Fisher, Mier’s expression showed no surprise, but rather a distinct hesitation in her demeanor, accompanied by a strained smile.
The reproductive cycle of the Dragon-man Species appears to have no adverse effects on females. Unlike the arduous process humans endure during childbirth, they achieve both challenging pairings and substantial offspring numbers.
"Get to the point, Mier."
Observing Mier’s hesitant demeanor, Rafael recomposed herself into the imposing Dragon Queen, issuing a command with regal authority.
"Ah, yes… Lord Rafael, there is an urgent message."
"A message? Pertaining to the Southern Branch Mountain Range? Has the Fake Court made a move? But why are you the one delivering it; shouldn't it be…"
"No, Lord Rafael. It’s a secret dispatch from coastal defense, reporting the detention of a human private vessel."
"A private vessel? Could it be a spy, or perhaps dispatched by the Fake Court bearing a message?"
"Neither, Lord Rafael…"
Mier pursed her lips, her claws involuntarily clenching the fabric of her rolled sleeve, appearing unable to voice the words. Nevertheless, confronted by Rafael’s overwhelming presence, she understood delay was not an option.
Finally, she closed her eyes momentarily, whispering an apology in her heart before speaking with resolve,
"It is a ship hailing from the human kingdom of Schwali, a rather luxurious vessel, likely belonging to the nobility of that realm!"
"Schwali… I recall hearing that name before."
Rafael murmured to herself, while Fisher, chin in hand, pondered Schwali’s potential motives. Perhaps a falling out with Nali had prompted them to consider backing Nali’s adversary, the Red Dragon Court, much like Nali’s past support for the Four Great Pirates…
"No… they are not an official envoy. A noblewoman from Schwali and her two maids are aboard, completely unarmed. They carry only gold and silver treasures… They claim… they claim…"
Mier’s speech became increasingly faltered, her voice diminishing with each word,
"They claim Lord Fisher’s lawful wife of four years has arrived to retrieve her errant husband!"
Rafael’s expression abruptly froze. Fisher, who had been engrossed in his deductions, also appeared utterly bewildered, his gaze fixed incredulously on Mier, who had closed her eyes while conveying the astonishing news.
