“Apostle 70053, you have triggered the shared branch plotline of the Qiongda’er Elves and the Anker Elves—the migration of the Qundar Moon Elves!”

[The Migration of the Qundar Moon Elves: (Field-rank Branch Plot). Under the pressure from three generations of the ruling Elf Kings and the Green Elves, the Qundar Moon Elves finally made the Council of Elders’ decision to migrate to Ank Forest and merge with the Anker Moon Elves.

Mission Objective: After accepting the mission, the Apostle must help the Qundar Moon Elves safely migrate to Ank Forest. The migration will be divided into three phases and is expected to take two natural months. If accepted, the Apostle and the related Apostle team will have one additional month of stay time.

Reward: Issued based on the Apostle’s contribution in this mission. Basic requirement: help the Moon Elves complete at least one migration.

Hint: This branch plotline was independently triggered by Apostle 70053, and gained 0.203% World Exploration Degree. The Fortress Team currently has no shared information; the Apostle can choose whether to let other team members share this mission. After completing the mission, there is a high chance of increasing the World Exploration Degree and seizing the related World Origin.

Hint: This branch plotline has the possibility of reaching 0.21% World Exploration Degree. If the team abandons the planned main plotline, this can serve as a preparatory main quest.]

Looking at the prompt in the Death Notice, Qin Lun slightly frowned. He originally thought whether the Moon Elves would migrate or not was still uncertain, but now it seemed that after obtaining partial information, the Shattered Starry Sky had confirmed this Historical Plot.

From this perspective, the overall migration of the Qundar Moon Elves to Ank Forest was an inevitable trend that no individual could stop. Thinking of this, Qin Lun had a sudden thought. From King Testiel’s current behavior, he was an astute ruler. He couldn’t have failed to notice this situation, so why was he still making futile efforts?

Recalling what Iristin had just said, Qin Lun gained further insight into King Testiel’s thoughts. The dissatisfaction of the Qundar Moon Elves did not start now; King Testiel’s reign was still too short to bridge the gap between the two races. Moreover, under the current circumstances, his goodwill gestures towards the Moon Elves were likely to be seen by the tribal elders as having ulterior motives.

Such misunderstandings could absolutely not be resolved by one or two descendants of the royal bloodline. Furthermore, as the former ruling race of Qiongda’er, the Moon Elves’ demand was to regain dominance in the Magic Cup Court and even have a Moon Elf ascend to the Elf King’s throne.

This was an irreconcilable political conflict, equivalent to civil war in human society. How could King Testiel possibly meet such conditions? Thus, the overall migration of the Moon Elf tribe became an unstoppable trend; no one could stop it, not even a royal descendant like Iristin.

Having figured this out, Qin Lun began to understand why King Testiel wanted to win him and Iristin over. This astute king did not intend to retain the entire Moon Elf tribe, but rather wanted to keep a portion of the former royal bloodline with pure lineage.

The purer the bloodline of a Qundar Moon Elf, the stronger the Ancient Inheritance within their bloodline. The stronger these descendants became, the more inheritance they would awaken in their blood, thereby preserving the vitality of the Magic Cup Court as much as possible.

The current plight of the Magic Cup Court was not only due to the lack of a World Tree Seed; they also lacked Elf Priests and Druids who could use secret methods to care for the World Tree Seed. Relying solely on the Green Elves simply could not achieve this.

This was the difference between the Moon Elves and the Green Elves. The Moon Elves had excellent elemental affinity, and their Ancient Inheritance mostly consisted of Priests, Mages, and Druids. The Green Elves had stronger Constitution, and their Ancient Inheritance mainly comprised Rangers, Archers, Knights, and Warriors.

This was also why, after casting that water-element Forbidden Spell, the high-ranking Moon Elves were almost completely wiped out, while the Green Elves still had high-ranking powerhouses capable of succeeding the Elf King.

Should I share this branch plot with the Fortress Team?

Qin Lun’s eyes flickered as he subconsciously touched his chin. According to the Shattered Starry Sky’s calculations, this branch plot reached at least 0.21% World Exploration Degree. Given the vast world background of Faerûn, a plot that could influence 0.21% of history was likely a very grand one.

From this perspective, the integration of the Qundar Moon Elves into Ank Forest should be considered a major event in Faerûn’s history, definitely having significant follow-up impacts. It might even allow contact with some of the Anker Elf plotlines.

However, this branch plot mission could not be considered a good task. From Qin Lun’s point of view, at the very least, the effort and reward were not proportional. Internally, this mission was guided by his Moonlight Elf Bloodline. Even if shared with the Fortress Team, he still had to participate. Not to mention rejecting the Elf King’s overtures, it was highly likely he would no longer be able to participate in the Magic Cup Court’s Main Plotline.

Externally, Ank Forest was located west of Qiongda’er Forest. The journey required crossing the Golden Plain of the Qiongdus Kingdom and part of the territory of the Kingdom of Saispaits. Setting aside the Kingdom of Saispaits for now, the human lords of the Qiongdus Kingdom would definitely not give up this heaven-sent opportunity to take revenge on their enemies. It was predictable that they would encounter organized and premeditated “Rogue gang” attacks.

Furthermore, this mission’s utilization of the Apostle’s stay time was really very low. The Elves’ physical fitness far surpassed that of humans; even the elderly, women, and children possessed some combat ability. If the path from Qiongda’er Forest to Ank Forest was smooth, it would take at most about a week. The three migration journeys actually wouldn’t take two months.

However, a large migration was not a tour. The preparatory work before the migration actually took up most of the time. After accepting this mission, the Fortress Team could only passively wait for the migration to start. Most of the additional month of stay time would be wasted in idleness.

“Firal, Firal…” Iristin looked strangely at Qin Lun. This Moon Elf “compatriot” had been absent-minded since just now, his face constantly changing expressions. She called several times without getting a response, making her feel rather frantic.

“Huh? Ah, Iristin, what is it?” Qin Lun finally snapped out of his thoughts and explained with a smile, “Sorry, I just remembered some important matters!”

“Firal, judging from your pure bloodline, your previous life must have been a royal family member. You will definitely awaken some kind of inheritance in the future! If you and I go to see the tribal elders together, perhaps they will change their minds about migrating!” Iristin looked at Qin Lun with hopeful eyes.

“No, Iristin, I cannot go with you to see the tribal elders.” Qin Lun remained silent for a moment before refusing.

“Why? Firal, the experience of this Elf envoy group has already proven that the Qiongdus Kingdom harbors ill intentions towards us. We are bound to lose clansmen during the migration. Why not continue staying in Qiongda’er Forest? When King Testiel first ascended the throne, he already guaranteed that the Moon Elves could move into the Court to live, and even promised to allocate Council of Elders seats to the Moon Elves…”

“The Elf King cannot act arbitrarily. When it involves the overall interests of the Green Elves, he must have the support of the Court’s Council of Elders.” Qin Lun smiled and interrupted Iristin, “King Testiel hasn’t been able to successfully implement this royal decree for decades since his accession. Why do you believe he has the ability to fulfill his promise now?”

“I believe King Testiel can do it. Besides, it’s different now. The Green Elf race needs us; the Court’s Council of Elders understands this.” Iristin hesitated for a moment, then patiently explained.

“Only because they need the Moon Elves did they make concessions, right?” Qin Lun smiled meaningfully, narrowing his eyes as he said lightly, “What if, after the third generation World Tree takes root, they no longer need the Moon Elves for the next ten thousand plus years?”

“King Testiel wouldn’t do that! The Green Elf elders wouldn’t dare either! Betraying trust would bring scorn from all Elves of Faerûn!” Iristin trembled all over, her eyes wide open as she spoke in disbelief.

“Perhaps this generation of Green Elves won’t, but don’t forget our traditions. Just as the Sun Elves, who lost their Ancient Inheritance, forever consider themselves the supreme bloodline of Faerûn’s Elves, the Qundar Moon Elves will never forget that they were once the true masters of the Magic Cup Court.”

Qin Lun’s soft words pierced Iristin’s eardrums like sharp swords, as if striking a bronze bell in her mind, “Why were the three generations of Green Elf Kings so stubborn about pushing the Moon Elves out of the Magic Cup Court? And why were the Moon Elf elders at that time willing to move all their clansmen out of the Court and establish tribes on the forest outskirts? Were they all truly incompetent and foolish?

Of course not! It was because they were all clearly aware that as long as the Moon Elves remained in the Magic Cup Court for even one day, and as long as the Green Elves did not restore the tradition of the Moon Elf kingship, then the Magic Cup Court would always remain in a state of division, even risking the outbreak of a disgraceful Qiongda’er civil war!

Therefore, since the three generations of Green Elf Kings were unwilling to hand back the throne, they could only marginalize the Moon Elves. And the Moon Elf elders were fully aware of this, hence they abandoned the struggle for the throne and allowed the Moon Elf clansmen to migrate out of the Court.”

Qin Lun looked at the somewhat devastated Iristin and continued with a smile, “King Testiel is a wise and pious king. His promise can be trusted. Perhaps after this World Tree crisis, the Green Elves and Moon Elves will blend as seamlessly as milk and water for two generations. But as long as the inheritances of the two races are not fused into one, splitting apart again is only a matter of time.

Back then, the Moon Elves yielded the throne due to external war crises, needing the Green Elves’ help. This time, the internal crisis was caused by the Green Elves themselves. To completely mend the rift, King Testiel would of course have to give up the throne as well. How could just a few elder seats satisfy the entire Moon Elf race?

Taking a step back, this migration is the decision of the majority of the Moon Elf tribes. Even if we possess a bit of royal bloodline, even if you and I were the Moon Elf King, we could not overturn the joint decision of all the tribal elders and clansmen.”

“But… the danger to the clansmen… King Testiel… Coris he…”

Iristin’s face still bore the Druid’s camouflage paint, but from her somewhat wooden sitting posture and the faint, nonsensical murmurs from her mouth, one could tell the Elven Druid’s mind was in complete chaos.

Qin Lun stopped speaking and just looked at her quietly. Iristin opened her mouth several times as if to speak, but ultimately fell silent each time, her expression growing increasingly despondent.

“It’s unavoidable that the clansmen will encounter dangers during the journey. But Ank Forest is governed by Moon Elves after all. After they go there, they will only live better lives. You don’t need to worry so much for everyone!” Worried that this gentle Elf girl had been too deeply affected by his words, Qin Lun immediately offered comfort.

Iristin thought for a long time and finally seemed to understand somewhat. Her mood improved, and then she looked at Qin Lun with some concern, saying, “Then… what about King Testiel…”

“Just act as if you know nothing. Didn’t you live in a treehouse outside the forest because you didn’t want to get involved in these troublesome matters?” Qin Lun rubbed his temples somewhat vexedly. He realized he had been too talkative, making the Elf Druid treat him like some kind of universal adhesive, sticking to everything.

“Besides, if you truly care about your clansmen, it’s best not to pay any more attention to any of King Testiel’s proposals. He isn’t necessarily trying to retain the Moon Elf tribes that are destined to leave. Perhaps his target is specifically royal bloodlines like yours, who possess the Moon Elf’s Ancient Inheritance.”

“Hmm!” This time Iristin understood very quickly. Druids like her were most suited to caring for the World Tree Seed.

If descendants of the Qundar Moon Elf royal bloodline, disregarding the other clansmen, continued to stay in Qiongda’er Forest, then even if the Moon Elf tribes go to Ank Forest, the degree of importance they receive would likely be much lower.
