Venom was exposed to a mysterious purple gas, causing him to go berserk and rampage uncontrollably. Peter Parker intervened, using his magic to subdue Venom and help Eddie Brock regain control. Investigating the source, they discovered the gas was an illegal chemical compound designed to cause mutation and loss of control. As Eddie and Peter discussed their next steps, they were ambushed by super mutants, leading to a large-scale battle where they joined forces with the Rebirth Alliance.

After arriving at the Rebirth Alliance, instead of heading to the interrogation room, they went to the Security Department’s office. Eddie hurriedly reported his experience at the smuggling warehouse, which captured everyone’s attention.

Following Happy Hogan, several more mutants emerged in the city. Natasha pursed her lips and said, "We’ve been fighting for sixteen hours straight. Everyone is injured to some extent, even as a mutant cyborg, I’m finding it hard to keep going."

Peter patted her shoulder and said, "You should have called me earlier. How is it now? Is there anywhere I can help?"

Natasha shook her head and said, "It’s not the battles that are exhausting. Although those mutant cyborgs are strong, they’re no match for superheroes. The problem is we don’t know how many there are. Agents have conducted a comprehensive sweep, yet bombs still sporadically explode, and we can’t even find the source."

"Hospital?" Eddie asked, "Have you checked the hospital?"

"The hospital where Happy Hogan stayed has been thoroughly checked inside and out," Natasha said, "No problems were found."

"But they may not have been affected at the same time," Peter said, "Initially, different drug concentrations can cause divergences in time of illness. Even with the same drug, variations in human absorption can present different states."

"What do you mean..." Natasha said, frowning, her brain too tired to process.

"If the perpetrator acted months ago, mixing things in small batches into different drugs, and feeding them to patients using various methods, while controlling the concentration and method to ensure a simultaneous outbreak, this result might occur, right?"

Natasha understood and immediately arranged for further investigation. Previously, they mainly checked records around the time of illness. Records from farther back weren’t thoroughly examined, especially since patients are constantly being admitted and discharged, and their families constantly visit.

Additionally, the hospital where Happy was staying is of high caliber, being York City’s top private hospital, catering mainly to the upper class. If you investigate too deeply, people may refuse, leaving discoveries inconclusive.

Having new clues now, Natasha found direction. But most crucially, if Venom could perceive the appearance of suspicious drugs, they could employ technical means.

"It’d be great to know the components," Peter said, "If it’s human-related, a blood test might reveal something, but with symbionts..."

Natasha also displayed a troubled expression. They’ve interacted with many symbionts in this cosmos, yet these creatures remain mysterious, with communication barriers to anyone but their hosts.

Venom might sense a bunch of components, even identify the taste of each, but due to differing receptor organs from humans, these subjective senses are useless, and he doesn’t know the scientific names of these components.

Logically, he could draw molecular structures, but owing to Movie Universe’s Venom being an illiterate, he lacks understanding of earthly and symbiont knowledge alike.

On his original planet, he was unfortunate, marginalized by other symbionts; were it not so, he wouldn’t fear Riot so much, feeling he can’t prevail.

Many skills typical for symbionts, including decomposition and transformation at the molecular level, Venom is clueless about. Oblivious to these matters, he’s only equipped with an eating heart eye.

"We need an expert," Peter said, "A chemistry and biology expert to communicate with Venom could be fruitful."

Speaking of chemistry and biology experts, who better? And this person happens to specialize in symbiont studies. Iron Man’s head nearly exploded seeing members from the Rebirth Alliance.

Iron Man, already anxious about impending court proceedings, spent sleepless nights pondering Nick’s words without resolving anything, only for the Rebirth Alliance to arrive, making him wish they’d arrest him already, for death is inevitable, so let it be swift.

These days, Iron Man almost hopes for imprisonment, not aspiring to be like Reed in a lab but to be genuinely jailed, put away for a couple of peaceful days.

"This is also about saving yourself," Peter said, "Regardless of what you’re thinking, in this matter alone, I want to believe in your innocence. You can’t give up so soon."

Natasha couldn’t help but steal a glance at Peter, unaware of who brought him in, but if Peter’s involved, things might not align with Nick’s expectations.

"Thanks," Iron Man said weakly, lacking sincerity, rather perfunctory.

He hadn’t entirely given up; the real issue was the sheer frequency and abruptness of unexpected events, repeatedly hitting him, leaving no room for calm contemplation. He needed quiet to clear up logic, find the missing link, rather than arguing with them here.

Peter briefly shared some discoveries with Iron Man, and speaking of his expertise, Iron Man perked up slightly. He pondered then said, "Sounds like two drugs mixed, one causing mutations and the other affecting mental states."
