The wedding candle flickered beneath my palm, its flame dancing and casting small blossoms of light in the darkness. A smile played on my lips as I turned around, surveying the red wedding bed adorned with its gauze canopy. The ambiance was perfect. This wedding chamber was a creation of my own hands.

A soft creak echoed as the door swung inward, revealing Jing Tian standing there, a look of surprise etched on his face. I strolled towards him, my red wedding dress shimmering. This gown, a unique creation, was the product of two weeks of dedicated collaboration between myself and the designer while he had been recuperating from his injuries. It was truly one of a kind.

From the expression in Jing Tian’s eyes, I perceived his delight. This was the first time I had ever truly made an effort to look beautiful for him.

“Nan Xing?” he whispered, a note of disbelief in his voice as he approached me. Standing before him, I tilted my head back and met his gaze with a smile.

Seven years. This man had been a constant presence by my side for seven long years.

Seven years ago, I had been betrayed by my former husband and framed by his mistress, subsequently disowned by my family. With nowhere to turn and nothing left to live for, and unwilling to let my six-month-old child share in my misfortune, I had thrown myself into the sea.

It was this very man who rescued me from the unforgiving waters. He had summoned the world’s most skilled physicians, imploring them to save my life at any cost.

Through my periods of emotional turmoil, when I lashed out at others and at myself, he remained a steadfast presence.

When I withdrew into myself, my emotions buried deep, he was there to offer solace.

My life force had been like a extinguished flame, gradually fading. He sifted through the wreckage of my heart, searching for even the faintest spark. He nurtured and protected it. Day by day, week by week, year by year, his love meticulously rekindled that spark into glowing embers.

He was Jing Tian, the youngest uncle of my ex-husband.

Just half a month prior, he had been hospitalized once again to ensure my survival. I had long lost count of the number of times this had occurred over the past seven years. My affection for him had literally inflicted wounds upon him. And with the blood he shed, my own heart began to stir back to life.

Despite enduring so many hardships, he still stood before me, offering his life in devotion. If I failed to recognize the value of such a sacrifice, I would be the most foolish woman alive.

Jing Tian’s hands slowly, tenderly caressed my face.

“Do I look beautiful?” I inquired.

“You are,” Jing Tian softly replied, his gaze fixed upon my features with an intensity akin to a child captivated by a sweet treat.

A joyful smile spread across my face.

Jing Tian, the seventh master of the Jing family, possessed the influence to shake the entire M City with a mere gesture. He was reputed to be a man of cold heart, an Asura descended from hell; yet, before me, he exhibited a gentle, kind demeanor, even a touch of innocence and awkwardness.

I took his hands and brought them to my face. His fingers were long and slender, curling slightly with anticipation.

“Jing Tian, what extraordinary virtue have I possessed to have encountered someone like you? Will you grant me the happiness of a lifetime and unite with me in marriage? Will you permit me to be your lifelong partner?”

Jing Tian’s hands clenched into fists, and I could feel the tension in his muscles. “Nan Xing? What—Say that again,” he uttered, his voice strained, as if a louder tone might shatter the precious illusion of the moment.

I released his wrists and embraced him tightly around his waist, leaning my head against his chest and looking up at him. “Jing Tian, will you marry me?”

Jing Tian’s hands rested on my back, drawing me closer. He responded with urgent fervor, “Yes, I am willing! Nan Xing, of course, I will!”

Laughter bubbled up from me. Observing the sheer joy in his eyes, my laughter transformed into tears. “Jing Tian, I am so sorry. I am already tarnished. If there is another life, I promise to offer you my most pristine self.”

Jing Tian held me tightly against his chest. “No, Nan Xing, it is my failing that I allowed them to harm you. In all the cycles of our existence, I vow to enter your life sooner, thereby sparing you from all tribulations.”

I pledged my next life to him, and in return, he offered me all his future lives. What more could one desire in a husband?

Standing on my tiptoes, I wrapped my arms around his neck, drawing him closer to bestow a kiss upon his lips. His lips were soft and tender, mirroring the gentleness of his character.

Jing Tian trembled, and then the world seemed to melt away beneath me. I gasped involuntarily, clinging to his neck as he lifted me into his arms. While I was caught by surprise, his lips parted mine.

I could feel the heat radiating from his body.

Throughout the past seven years, no matter how desperate he might have felt, Jing Tian had maintained the utmost gentlemanly conduct, never overstepping any boundaries. But now, I could clearly sense his rising desire.

Drawing upon the last vestiges of his self-control, he gently laid me down upon the wedding bed. Positioning himself above me, he growled, his lips close to mine, “Nan Xing, may I?”

A smile graced my lips as I caressed his handsome face. Leaning forward, I grazed his earlobe with my lips, whispering, “Jing Tian, make me your woman.”

The fabric of the dress tore under his determined strength. His palm settled upon my exposed skin, sending a thrill of excitement through my heart.
